We also took a moment to address where we stand on the ongoing OGL controversy. In short, we are going to continue making our homebrew content, but we are shifting away from making 5e materials and instead moving towards more system-agnostic work. We are also looking into working in other systems for future games and modules.

The quiet desert town of Dubufi is rudely awakened when the gnomish archmage Moreen Trask flies in, being chased by a 600-foot-tall, 1200-foot-long living apocalypse engine. She convinces the party that there is an item that can neutralize the beast, but with one caveat: the item was eaten, along with its most recent wielder. After some ingenuity and collateral damage, the party makes an unconventional entrance and must now muck about the beast's innards in search of the artifact Blightspore.

Verdigris Revisited - Undercommon Taste Episode 77

This week, we return to the town of Verdigris, which we created way back in episode 19. Join us as we flesh out the town and its environs a bit more, and take inspiration from the song "The Copper War" by The Cog is Dead (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3mbsY75Zws) to lay out an adventure arc with the political machinations and posturing of two dragons: one green, one copper.

As mentioned in the episode, we are drawing inspiration for the town of Verdigris and the people within from the history of the Appalachian coal mines, specifically the unionization efforts of the miners and the subsequent crackdown by the mining companies. A keystone event for these union struggles was the Battle of Blair Mountain in 1921, which remains the single largest labor uprising in American history.
