This episode was SO CLOSE to not happening. We also had a TON of Gnome content - breaking news about the (hopefully) short-lived hemp-derived THC product ban, GABF and the history of Gnome's soundboard use, and the cumulation of the Oktoberfest Quest...the Finale!

We also sprinkled in a good helping of chaos, including but not limited to: Future Gnome trying to figure out how to play the lottery. Crazy straws. Counting eyes and "i"s on beer cans. Interrupting Marco to make our mics make noise. Drinking the bug.

More F-BrewDog news and yay Tilray news. Cincy Brew Dads do Jell-O shots poorly, Matt did an interpretive dance to prove they had beers, and Ryan was taken to another dimension. What Malort tastes like. Not really talking about The Weekly Pint much because we decided to just continue to BS about other stuff instead (though we did talk about Oktoberfest Quest). We passionately want our local breweries to show up and show loud at the Oktoberfest Fest finale!

Statistics are meaningless. Good news (for us) about BrewDog. Would you go to a water bar? Hostile takeovers of the Cincy Brew Dads' Untapped accounts. Not knowing if they found the pimp cane section at Jungle Jim's (is it in the Belgia section?). Starting a petition to change the name of MadTree Light Lager to Legendary Light. How they make a 95-calorie, 4-carb beer. Black IPAs coming back (BACK) to MadTree, maybe a black IPA tap takeover at Parks and Rec if we're lucky! 6 wings worth of protein. Saying the forbidden beer's TRUE name. The cyclical nature of shows that aren't shows becoming shows. The seltzer bubble is popping, so start panicking. Self serve beer AND pizza? Could Big Ash be a Proof of Concept for future LaRosa's locations? Is it more fun to drink with people or with an inanimate Gnome.

Women's voices are strong. They are powerful. They are educated, inquisitive, inventive, and just as important as any other voice, yet in certain industries they are still muffled. The beer industry is one of those industries that, while great strides in equality have been made, women's voices are still not always received at the same level as their male counterparts. I had the absolute honor and privilege of speaking with a group of 5 brilliant women in the Cincinnati beer industry about why this is, and what we can do about it.

Everything was going so well until Gnome chewed through his restraints. Then chaos took over. I think you can actually hear the moment Julia gave up on trying to keep the episode under control. Episode 157 - The Tornado Sirens Are Going Off

We found some new shows to talk about this week, so we had a lot to talk about, but somehow didn't manage to derail this train too badly this week. The tracks we managed to stay mostly on in this episode had to do with things such as rotating macro beers into your drinking regime, Adam still Makes Beer but still hasn't sent us a mug with his face on it, pickle eating strategies, Blake-cones, Cinco de Mayo being the worst event ever, there's only one right way to spell Jo(h)n, summer is stout season, do champagnes have sommeliers, breaking Bret, a lack of lager talk, and going live being more important than family.
