He defends his disciples plucking grain, claims the title "Son of Man" as Lord of the Sabbath, and heals a man with a withered hand—actions that push the Pharisees to conspire with the Herodians.

The episode contrasts grace with rule-following and calls listeners to trust Christ as their true rest rather than relying on human-made laws.

The story shows Jesus’ immediate compassion, powerful authority, and the way miracles point to a deeper purpose.

We also see Jesus prioritize prayer and preaching the gospel over nonstop healing—revealing his main mission to save people from sin. The leper’s healing highlights both Jesus’ mercy and the cost of misunderstanding his purpose.

Ultimately the episode answers the question “Who is the Son of God?” by showing Jesus as the compassionate, authoritative Savior who reaches into the desolate places to restore his creation and proclaim the kingdom.

This sermon unpacks Micah 6’s courtroom imagery to give context to Micah 6:8, showing it’s not a political catchphrase but God’s call to faithful obedience. It exposes pride and comfort-driven Christianity, reminds listeners they were redeemed from slavery, and challenges them to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

In this episode, we dive into Hebrews 12, exploring the metaphor of the Christian life as a race. Reflecting on experiences from our youth, such as school track events that promised fun but required effort, we find parallels with the journey of faith that involves perseverance, discipline, and community.

The writer of Hebrews reminds us that faith is a gift lived out through endurance, overcoming obstacles, and maintaining the strength to continue. Drawing on imagery from Isaiah, we learn about the importance of lifting our drooping hands and strengthening weak knees, metaphorically preparing ourselves for the challenges ahead.

Furthermore, we discuss the crucial role of community in our faith journey. Christianity is not a solo endeavor, and we need each other to strive towards peace and holiness. As we run together, we're encouraged to avoid pitfalls like gracelessness, bitterness, and worldliness while keeping our focus firmly on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

The discussion focuses on how God's discipline is intertwined with pain and suffering, often challenging the traditional interpretation that such experiences stem primarily from adversaries and evil forces. Instead, we contemplate the sovereignty of God, who uses these trials for our ultimate good and holiness.

The sermon highlights the contrast between the comforts often associated with faith and the less-discussed aspect of striving, which is central to Christian living. By reflecting on biblical figures and teachings, we explore how suffering—whether caused by human actions or the natural course of life—is instrumental in shaping a believer's faith, encouraging endurance and trust in God’s ultimate plan.

Listeners are invited to consider their own experiences of pain and suffering, urging them to see these as part of God's sovereign control, aimed at refining their faith and character. The episode challenges us to trust in God's promise of peace and righteousness amid adversity, reminding us of the need to keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

In this episode, we delve into the profound message of Hebrews 11, exploring the concept of faith and the role it plays in the lives of biblical heroes and ordinary believers alike. We consider the misconception that ranks individuals based on their perceived greatness, contrasting it with the biblical view that emphasizes God's grace above personal merit.

Using the story of Rahab—a figure who defies conventional expectations of holy lineage—this discussion highlights how faith and grace transcend moral status, affirming that our usefulness to God's kingdom is determined not by our greatness but by His grace. Rahab's example serves as a poignant reminder that spiritual greatness is accessible to all, regardless of past failings.

As we journey through the 'Hall of Faith', we learn that outcomes are not the ultimate measure of our faithfulness. Instead, we are encouraged to trust in God's plan and focus on our current callings, letting tomorrow take care of itself. Finally, the episode reinforces the importance of fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, as the ultimate source of grace and direction in our spiritual journey.

In this episode, we delve into the story of Moses as narrated in Hebrews 11. The focus is on the aspect of faith - how Moses exercised it and its significance in advancing the biblical narrative towards Christ. The discussion covers the grand narrative at play in our lives, akin to the multiple roles in kids' sports, and how we often miss the larger picture.

The episode examines Moses' journey from his miraculous preservation as a baby, the faith action of his parents, to the significant moments in his life that defined his faith. It offers insights on identifying with faith, turning away from worldly comforts, and embracing the larger than life calling God has for individuals.

The teaching further explores the symbolism behind the Passover, the courage required to lead the faithless, and the importance of trusting in God's plan even when unexplained methods are involved.

As the episode unfolds, there's a renewed call to view our hardships as light and momentary compared to the eternal glory God promises. The narrative invites listeners to examine their own faith journey, encouraging them to not just emulate Moses, but to cultivate a deep relationship with the God he served.

This episode explores the emotional devastation felt by Jesus' disciples after His crucifixion, juxtaposed with the hope of His promised resurrection. It delves into the actions of Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple who boldly steps forward to claim Jesus' body and fulfill prophecy by providing a dignified burial.

While reflecting on the grief of the disciples hiding in an upper room, the episode illuminates how Jesus' death fulfilled prophetic scripture, even in His burial. We witness the courage of Joseph and Nicodemus, who overcame fear to honor Jesus, as well as the broader significance for believers today.

Join us in understanding how giving one's life to Christ, despite worldly loss, leads to eternal life and hope through His resurrection. As Easter approaches, find solace in the enduring promise of life with the Father, made possible through Christ's sacrifice.

Amidst the celebration of God taking on flesh in the person of Jesus Christ, there is a reality that we all deal with: life doesn't stop. For some, there is extra pain during the holiday season because of a loss experienced in the past year; for others, that may come later once the adrenaline of the Christmas season has passed.

We see in Matthew that this reality exists even at the birth of Christ. Christ has come, but that does not mean sin and evil in the world cease to exist. Herod does not like the idea of a king invading his space and will go to evil extremes to prevent his power from being challenged.
