Most roots in Arabic are made up of three consonants. The root of a word in Arabic is a set of consonants that carries the core meaning of the word. These three words share the same root, which is أمن. Here are the meanings of these three words: 'aman', should read: 'amaan': أمان, safety, security, protection, or trust. 'amanah', should read: 'amaanah': أمانة, honesty, integrity, or trustworthiness. 'amani', should read: 'amaanii' (though technically can only take a final long ii when definite; when indefinite, it is “amaanin”آَمانٍ): أماني, hopes, aspirations, or dreams. How do you say “two” in Arabic? Pronunciation, Grammar and Dialects

“Two“ in standard Arabic can be ITHNAAN, or ITHNAYN: ITHNAAN if it’s in the nominative case, ITHNAYN if it’s in the accusative or genitive/prepositional cases. When a noun is isolated in Arabic, it is in the nominative case, so that would be ITHNAAN. That being said, when Arabs speak, about 90 percent of them use ITHNAYN regardless of grammatical context, even though it is grammatically incorrect half the time. All of the above is in the masculine. The equivalent feminine forms are ITHNATAAN and ITHNATAYN, respectively.
