But not everyone knows of the one that comes from right here in Michigan and was pretty infamous during the Prohibition Era. The Purple Gang! I first heard from them from a previous job, which I talk about in the podcast and why it fascinated me. And now, come with me as I lead you into the rise and fall of the Purple Gang.

It was an amazing new experience for them both, as it held a completely different vibe to the conventions they have gone to for cosplay. Every author with their own unique books, all of them incredibly nice and informative. The overall experience was super inspiring for them as they are plotting out their own book with the goal to one day return to again!

We highly recommend this event for anyone who enjoys supporting Indie authors, with a variety of different topics and styles!

This subject first drew my attention as I was watching The Originals, the spin off of The Vampire Diaries, based in New Orleans. When I got to the episode revolving the festival, something about it really caught my attention and spoke to me, given that it's not one you typically hear about outside of New Orleans itself. So I wanted to bring it into light and talk about it, to the best of my ability.

Are there other New Orleans festivals you'd like to hear about and for me to cover? Or have you witnessed the festivals yourself? Let me know in the comments below!

These four stories come from Dan Asfar's "Ghost Stories of Michigan" and while not extremely scary, each has a very different supernatural vibe for the spirit of the season. This has been a topic that has interested me for over a decade now, a teenager fascinated and frightened by the imagery of Silent Hill, only to find out as I got older that the town was based on a real location. I was watching the videos for the city, seeing its spooky abandoned streets, the steam vents popping up out of nowhere, the eeriness of the graveyards, the residents from the mines, and the fire ever burning below. I found myself back to being that teenager, both frightened and fascinated by what the mysteries of this town holds.

We have so many exciting things coming up this week and I can't wait to tell you how they went on the next episode! Be on the lookout!

]]> On this spooky night, we venture into Silent Hill or by its proper name, Centralia, Pennsylvania. We venture into a realm Julia has never gone down before, with a request from Trevor of What Goes Bump in the Night as she covers Soldiers experiencing the paranormal or the unexplained. The episode went differently than I initially thought, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. Let me know if there are any other subjects you would like me to cover as we enter spooky season!

This week, I decided to read out of Caroline Taggart's book "Does A Bear Shit in the Woods?" Answers to Rhetorical Questions. Many have heard many of these asked over time and wondered "Is there even a proper answer to that?" And long story short...yeah there is! I picked up this fun and interesting book at the library where I work and decided to give it a shot here on the podcast. Because honestly, why not?

On this grand adventure, we journey not alone, but with Spencer!

Join us as we read a few excerpts from this fascinating book of the macabre and learn how other cultures handle burial. This gets brutal, so if you don't handle grotesque well, maybe skip this one. The two covered this time around are Cremation and Sky Burial.

Hello and welcome to the podcast's fourth episode as we dip our toes into the crazy and wonderful world of cryptids and legends. I decided to go with one that is lesser known and this one fascinated me since while on the way down to The Bell Mansion (listen to episode two for that adventure). It's not every day you come across local legends in sleepy towns!

Thank you to everyone who supported me on the first episode, it means the world to me! In this episode, we will be jumping into our adventure down to Fort Wayne, Indiana to The Bell Mansion and Ghostorama and the fun that followed! This was the fourth Ghostorama and the first time the event took place outside of Michigan. It seemed like the turnout was well worth it for sure!
