Rebecca Wellington joins the program to discuss her compelling work Who Is a Worthy Mother?, which explores the societal judgments and systemic barriers that shape perceptions of motherhood, particularly among marginalized communities. Her insights shed light on the intersection of social policy, reproductive justice, and personal narrative.

Also featured is sociologist and author Sarita Srivastava, who shares insights from her book Are You Calling Me a Racist?—a timely and powerful examination of how accusations of racism are received and deflected in progressive spaces. Srivastava offers a critical look at the dynamics of race, privilege, and accountability in social movements and institutions.

The 2nd book  falls more into an empowerment mode with tips, etc. from Clinical Psychologists Angela Glaser Bowers, Ph. D.  She tells the remarkable true story of Emma, a fragile young woman, and her tenacious therapist.

It's giving time and a little Fisk campus news then the book discussion was with Josh A. Douglas, University of Kentucky College of law Professor on his book The Court Vs. The Voters: The Troubling Story Of How the Supreme Court Has Undermined Voting Rights.    

The guest is a professor of Election Law, Voting Rights and the Constitution, this made for an interesting discussion on democracy.     

We started with 2- excellent health professionals to cover the subject: Dr. Rolanda Lister, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Genecology at Vanderbilt University and Dr. Leah Alexander. Chair of Public Health Practice at Meharry Medical College.   

At 5:30p,  this was a fun show on the subject of hot sauce.  My guest was educator Deborah Wagnon,  the author of the biography on Marie Sharp, the 84-year-old entrepreneur from Belize. Maybe you've heard of Marie Sharp's Fine Foods, Ltd. has become a globally recognized brand. 

I had about 16 different types of Marie's hot sauce with me on the show to discuss too
