John 3 reveals the new birth as the work of God’s Spirit—a real transformation that makes us new, brings us into God’s kingdom, and produces hope, love, peace, and joy. When we receive Jesus and believe in his name, condemnation is lifted, darkness gives way to light, and the old life gives way to new creation.

While the Pharisees watched in frustration, noting that "the whole world has gone after him," the arrival of those seeking from outside the nation of Israel signaled the beginning of a global mission. The King of the Jews was being revealed as the Hope of the Nations.

On this Palm Sunday, we move beyond the noise of the crowd to encounter the Christ who came to give His life for the world.

• Practice generous, cheerful tithing to break greed’s grip.

• Engage weekly with other believers—small group, phone check-ins, video prayer meetings.

• When temptation strikes, immediately flee (Philippians 4:8; Hebrews 12:1) and counter with spoken Scripture.

• Like impatient fish, we often snap at bait and risk eternal loss. Yet Christ offers the “cooler” of grace.

• Invitation: accept or renew faith in Jesus—the only way to the Father (John 14:6)—and commit to staying in His presence, Word, and community for ongoing victory.

We follow Jonah through four scenes—Jonah in the storm, Jonah in the fish, Jonah in the city, and Jonah with the Lord—and discover how God pursues both the runaway believer and the violent city. Every morning, as the world wakes, I remember my mother standing by the window, coffee in hand, watching the early hustle with an unspoken love for the new day. She always started before everyone else, her energy the spark that ignited our mornings. As I've grown and moved away, those quiet moments resonate more deeply.

Her dedication wasn't confined to our home; it extended into her career and community. She was an adept professional, balancing demanding roles with the finesse that others admired. At work, her colleagues revered her for her sharp insight and unwavering ethic, often leading projects that would benefit not just the company but the community it served.

At home, she was our chief problem solver and peacemaker. Her strategies for managing our household were crafted with a precision that seemed almost effortless. Despite her busy schedule, she always found time to ensure we were cared for, often putting our needs ahead of her own without a second thought.

Her influence reached beyond our immediate family. She was a mentor in neighborhood networks, organizing events that brought people together, fostering a sense of community and support. Her ability to connect with people, to offer advice, and to listen—truly listen—made her a cornerstone in the lives of many.

Now, as I navigate my own challenges and triumphs, I find myself echoing her teachings and her methods. Her strength and grace have become a guiding force, a measure of the kind of person I aspire to be. As Mother's Day nears, I am filled with gratitude for all the visible victories and silent sacrifices that shaped such an incredible legacy. My mother, with all her quiet dignity and fierce resolve, has given me more than just a model of virtues to aspire to—she has given me a foundation of love and respect that defines every part of my life.

But God has a plan and a purpose for everything He allows in our lives. He knows what we need and what we desire. He is able to provide for us and satisfy us in ways we cannot imagine. He is also testing and teaching us to trust Him, obey Him, and enjoy Him.

The manna from heaven is a powerful illustration of God’s provision, power, and purpose. It shows us how God fed His people with bread from above, how He controlled the amount and the timing of the manna, and how He instructed them to gather, store, and eat it. It also reveals how the people responded to God’s gift, both positively and negatively.

The manna has a lot to teach us today as well. It can help us to appreciate God’s grace, to acknowledge His sovereignty, and to align with His will. It can also challenge us to avoid grumbling, greed, and disobedience. It can inspire us to seek God’s presence, to share His blessings, and to celebrate His sabbath. We then shift our focus to the dramatic showdown between Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. The challenge is set - to call on their respective gods to ignite the wood on the altar without any physical aid. As the prophets of Baal fail to receive a response, Elijah rebuilds an old altar and drenches it in water before calling on the Lord.

In a breathtaking moment, the fire of God descends and consumes not only the sacrifice but also the stones, dust, and water. We reflect on the consuming fire as a symbol of God's power to burn away our sins, purify our hearts, and reveal Himself as the one true God.

As we discuss the impact of this consuming fire, we consider how the material possessions and concerns of life can also consume us if not kept in perspective. Just like the Israelites who fell on their faces and acknowledged the Lord as God when they witnessed His consuming fire, we too are reminded of the importance of surrendering to His all-consuming presence.

When we bow our heads and whisper words of prayer, we're not just speaking into the void. We are anchored by the teachings of the Bible - not just a compilation of stories, but the very voice of God guiding us. It is our roadmap to life, a compass in moments of doubt, and a beacon when we pray.

Yet, do we ever wonder about the celestial realm as we pray? Does heaven root for us? The answer is a resounding 'yes'. We're not just left to our own devices; the Spirit of God amplifies our efforts. And while human intellect may falter, scriptures like Romans 8:26-27 provide the solace that we're never alone in our prayers.

But prayer isn't just about seeking. It's also about believing in the boundless blessings awaiting us. The richness of God's grace is immeasurable. Yet, the question lingers - do we truly live and pray with unwavering faith?

Let us remember, every time we pray, we stand before the King of all kings. Dare to ask, dare to believe, for in prayer lies the true essence of our spiritual journey.
