Everyday Spiritual Gifts in Everyday People
Do you know what spiritual gift you have? Are you using it regularly?
Navigate Podcasts interview everyday people that are learning how to see their spiritual gift and walk in it.

Navigate is a book, used within a group experience, to help you recognize your spiritual gift. The course walks through the biblical study of the spiritual gifts named in scripture within a framework given to us by Paul himself in Romans, Ephesians and 1 Corinthians. We study through what spiritual gifts are, and what they’re not. Then we prayerfully discern with you the spiritual (charisma) gift you have while getting real-time reflections of the group to help you see where there is (and isn’t) spiritual fruit in your service to God. Let Navigate help you see the true spiritual gift you have.

PURPOSE
The primary purpose for Navigate is for you to gain clarity on what spiritual gifts are, what they’re not, and what gift you have. We want you to get a clearer picture of God’s unique design for your life. By the end of the material, you will be able to:
- Narrow down the gift you have

- Gain instruction on how to best utilize the gift you have

- Find the best ways for you to use your gift within your local church or team

In this episode of Navigate My Gift, Ben interviews Pastor Jalomi (Pastor J) from Lusaka, Zambia about his desire to unlock Africa's potential. They explore how the leadership gift is discovered and matured across multicultural contexts, the role of the Holy Spirit and character in shaping leaders, and how practical wisdom develops through experience and humility.

Pastor Jalomi explains his work with The Leadership Farm, sharing a long-term vision to raise servant leaders and empower African youth to transform communities, break dependency, and steward natural and human resources wisely. He uses biblical examples—Joseph, Daniel, and Jesus—to illustrate strategic nation-building, value creation, and the importance of bridging salvation with societal transformation.

The conversation also covers concrete leadership practices—training pastors, developing practical skills, disrupting unproductive situations calmly, franchising wisdom across communities—and encouragement for emerging leaders to serve, volunteer, learn by doing, and build international partnerships to accelerate sustainable change.

In this episode of Navigate My Gift we sit down with Jeff, a recent Navigate graduate, to explore his discovery of the Giver gift. Jeff shares how skepticism turned into clarity as the program helped him connect past choices—like volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and long-term philanthropy—to a consistent pattern of intentional service. Topics include decision-making as a giver, using gifts wisely in later life seasons, and examples of practical stewardship in family and community.

Key takeaways include the value of group learning in Navigate, advice to discover your gift early, the shadow-side challenge of prioritizing external generosity over family, and Jeff’s next steps: potential board service, family legacy planning, and supporting evangelistic efforts. Expect honest reflection, actionable encouragement, and a model of openness to what God is calling you to do next.

To see the spiritual state of someone/something and say something about it. Patrick describes this process - how he senses a message that needs to be said and how to say it. Lydia uncovers the real and raw experiences a prophet gift will typically go through, normalizing the challenges and wondrous high points that go with this gifting. We are so thankful for both of their vulnerability, sweet friendships and spot-on articulation of the prophet gift.

As she leaned more and more into the Mercy descriptions, and saw the writing on the wall, she came to realize she does in fact have the Mercy gift. Since then, she's been a wonderful Navigate coach, mentor, friend and compassion-giver to countless Navigate students.

In this episode Darcy shares how she discovered her gift through the Navigate class about 4 years ago, realizing that her sensitivity and tendency to cry were actually divine qualities. She discusses how she learned to distinguish between her own emotions and those of others, and the importance of releasing others' burdens to Jesus rather than trying to solve their problems. Darcy emphasizes that the primary ministry of the mercy gift is simply being present and listening, rather than providing answers. She advises others to embrace their gift without feeling flawed, and to recognize that people are drawn to them for healing and connection. The conversation explores how Darcy's gift manifests in her ability to sense when someone needs comfort, and how she has learned to balance her compassion with healthy boundaries.

We explain how the Spirit works in believers’ lives, the differences between these categories, and practical ways to discern and steward what God gives.

Whether you’re new to spiritual gifts or seeking clarity, Joyel & Ben offer a simple framework, scripture references, and next steps for discovery and application in your church and personal life.

Hey friends, we are in episode one of Navigate My Gift podcast. Hosts Ben and Joyel introduce the show and explain their focus on helping believers discover their unique charisma gift - spiritual gifts - rooted in God’s grace.

This episode grounds the study on "spiritual gifts" in key scriptures (1 Corinthians 12, 1 Peter 4:10, Romans 12:6–8, Romans 11:29). Then we briefly outline the seven charisma gifts (prophecy, service, teaching, exhortation, giving, leadership, mercy), and emphasize that these gifts are uniquely given, meant to be stewarded, and have lasting significance.

We invite listeners to explore your gifting through the Navigate book, Navigate classes, coaching, and this podcast. These resources will clarify the difference between spiritual gifts and natural talents, and encourage using your spiritual gift in love to serve God and others.

So glad you decided to listen, Ben and Joy
