In a culture marked by isolation and loneliness, the Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. In this episode, we explore the beauty and necessity of virtuous friendship—friendships rooted in Christ that help lead us to heaven.

Inspired by the words of Jesus, "I call you friends," and the reflections of Aristotle, we reflect on how authentic friendships strengthen virtue, challenge us to grow, and remind us that we are not alone on the journey to become saints.

In this episode, we turn to the wisdom of the popes—St. John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis—to explore how the Church understands the internet as a new mission field. We acknowledge the many dangers of social media and reflect on what it means to proclaim the Gospel online with truth, charity, and humility--why presence matters more than popularity, and how digital evangelization must always lead toward real encounter with Christ and His Church.

In this episode, we address the FOMO (fear of missing out) epidemic and reflect on Mary’s fiat—her courageous “yes” at the Annunciation—and how it teaches us to listen, surrender, and respond to God’s grace in our own lives. Drawing from Scripture, the witness of the saints, and the Church’s spiritual tradition, we explore how Mary not only models cooperation with God but actively helps us say yes through her maternal intercession. This episode invites listeners to discover how a humble, faithful response can allow Christ to take deeper root in the heart.

From St. Francis of Assisi’s kinship with animals and it's connection to human dignity to the Church’s teachings on how we should love and care for animals, we reflect on how our love of pets is good and holy when it's rightly ordered and how it can lead to diminishment of the dignity of the human person and true parenthood when it's not.

But within the Catholic tradition, silence is not emptiness; it is presence. In this episode, we explore the spiritual importance of silence as a sacred space where God speaks, heals, and transforms. We reflect on how silence invites us into deeper communion with God and uncover how silence is not passive, but profoundly active—a space where grace flows freely.

Whether you're navigating a noisy season of life or yearning for deeper intimacy with Christ, this episode offers practical insights and spiritual encouragement to embrace silence as a holy practice. Come, rest in the quiet—and discover the voice of God waiting there.

<itunes:summary>In a world of constant noise and endless motion, silence can feel like a luxury—or even a threat.
Come, rest in the quiet—and discover the voice of God waiting there.</itunes:summary>

What can we learn from the Gospel of Matthew's teaching on the birds of the air and the wildflowers? How can we deepen our dependance on God in all things?

First Principle and Foundation of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises:

The goal of our life is to live with God forever. God, who loves us, gave us life. Our own response of love allows God’s life to flow into us without limit.

All things in this world are gifts from God, presented to us so that we can know God more easily and make a return of love more readily. As a result, we approach and use all these gifts of God insofar as they help us to develop as loving persons. But if any of these gifts become the center of our lives, they displace God and so hinder our growth towards our goal.

In everyday life, then, we must hold ourselves in balance before all of these created gifts insofar as we have a choice and are not bound by some obligation. We should not fix our desires on health or sickness, wealth or poverty, success or failure, a long life or a short one. For everything has the potential of calling forth in us a deeper response to our life in God.

Our only desire and our one choice should be this: I want and I choose what better leads to God’s deepening his life in me.

<itunes:summary>Those who claim to be spiritual but not religious are one of the fastest growing "religions" in America and across the world, but can one truly be spiritual without being religious? Are they mutually exclusive? Delving into the issue, Dennis and Christine look at this spiritual path and offer some perspectives on why this path is not optimal for those who are genuinely seeking something deeper and more personal in their relationship with God, how the human person is created to be both spiritual and religious by nature, and why our relationship with God is meant to be not just personal and private, but also public and communal. We provide some guidance for family members on how to have conversations with a loved one who has chosen this path, as well as some insights for those walking this path to consider. In the end, we hope listeners will come to see how God desires so much for us in our relationship with him than what we limit ourselves to, and how being spiritual and religious offers us the "more" that we truly long to experience. </itunes:summary>
