Since the early 2000s, Peter has devoted much of his time to studying and promoting initiatives in science and philosophy that shed light on the human condition. From the 1930s onward, he became an increasingly controversial figure. After moving to the United States, he coined the term ‘orgone’ for a cosmic energy he claimed to have discovered, which he said others referred to as God. In 1940, he started building orgone accumulators, devices that his patients sat inside to harness the reputed health benefits. However, following vociferous media criticism, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration obtained an injunction against the shipment of orgone accumulators and Reich’s books. Charged with contempt in 1956 for having violated the injunction, Reich was sentenced to two years in prison, and that summer over six tons of his publications were burned by order of the court. He died in jail of heart failure just over a year later. Reich’s case is both bizarre and disturbing, but it speaks to a situation still prevalent today, in which scientists and researchers beyond the margins of mainstream academia are routinely derided, ridiculed, and in some cases, ruined. In the name of intellectual rigour, a new religion – Scientism – has been born.

Governments can either raise taxes to cover their reckless spending, or borrow from private banks and continue to kick the financial can down the road. Unfortunately, the vast sums governments owe to these private, for-profit banks continually attracts interest, and this mathematically un-payable debt is now strangling the life out of the economy of every nation on Earth.

But crucially, it’s not just the sheer volume of interest paid to the banks, it’s the control over the political process this debt gives the banks. We can never fix the instability in the world economic system until we forbid government borrowing. Economic instability favours banks and speculators, whereas economic stability favours the people. If banks control the creation of money, there is no way there will ever be a stable economic system. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way. Banks don’t need to be in control. Governments don’t need to borrow. Governments don’t need a national debt.

David Fridley of the Post Carbon Institute discusses renewable energy technology and the future of industrial civilization. In the face of depleting fossil fuel reserves, renewable energy sources are held up as the best hope for clean, green and truly sustainable future societies. Upon closer investigation, however, solar, wind and hydro-power are much more limited in scope than we like to believe, making business-as-usual in the coming decades impossible using renewables alone.

Renewable technologies deliver much less surplus energy than conventional means, and the tendency to construct installations such as solar arrays and wind farms on a massive scale is a symptom of outmoded thinking with many unintended side-effects. Even if it were possible to convert the world to renewables, the effort in itself would burn through massive quantities of fossil fuels with potentially disastrous results.

Biofuels, fracking and nuclear power also come with their own lists of drawbacks and disadvantages. From food price spikes and environmental degradation to the seemingly-insoluble problem of storing and processing spent nuclear fuel, future reliance on any or all of these seems totally unrealistic. Meanwhile, major breakthroughs in more exotic technologies such as thorium and hydrogen always seem to just around the corner and have yet to arrive on a genuinely large scale. But as we face a future in which we have less and do less, and the creed of endless economic growth finally crumbles, the prospect of a fairer and happier world may move just a little closer.

The event was witnessed by thousands of people for a number of hours, including the then governor of Arizona.

Utilizing new data from two of the best remote viewers on the planet, and methodologies derived from those developed and used by the U.S. military for espionage, it appears that this event involved at least one huge extraterrestrial spacecraft. The Apollo program, also known as Project Apollo, was the third human spaceflight program carried out by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the program was responsible for the landing of the first humans on Earth's Moon in 1969. First conceived during the Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower as a three-man spacecraft to follow the one-man Project Mercury which put the first Americans in space, Apollo was later dedicated to President John F. Kennedy's national goal of '''landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth' by the end of the 1960s. Kennedy's goal was apparently accomplished on the Apollo 11 mission when astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed their Lunar Module on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Five subsequent Apollo missions reportedly landed astronauts on the Moon, the last in December 1972.

However, beginning just a couple of years after the final Moon landing, doubts began to emerge about certain details of these missions and even as to whether any of them had taken place at all. Skeptics expressed many concerns about the feasibility of the missions: photographs taken on and around the Moon appeared to display many anomalies; questions were raised about the technology of mission control, the spacecraft itself, and the space suits, and whether any of it was actually up to the task; there were concerns about radiation, not just on the Moon itself but within the Van Allen belt which circles the Earth, a deadly radioactive zone some say would be impossible to traverse. And, of course, there is the question as to why man has never since returned to the Moon. Surely with today's vastly superior technology, this would be much easier to achieve.

Despite being refuted in some detail by NASA and a host of other agencies and individuals over the years, the idea that the manned Moon missions were staged just will not go away. Critics argue that skeptics are simply distrustful of government in general and that the Moon landings serve as sort of poster boy for them. But there are compelling reasons as to why a government would want to pull a stunt like this, and with the debate as heated as ever, it would appear that just one thing will silence the doubters for good.

To quote the opening lines from the 1979 science fiction series The Quatermass Conclusion, “In the last quarter of the 20th century, the whole world seemed to sicken. Civilised institutions, whether old or new, fell, as if some primal disorder was reasserting itself. And men asked themselves: Why should this be?”

Fast-forward to the first quarter of the 21st century, and we find ourselves in much the same quandary, living in what seems like an increasingly absurd dystopian movie. But there’s more to our predicament than mere systems failure. Consumerist culture tells us that life has no meaning or purpose beyond material concerns, and led to a crisis in our collective consciousness manifesting nihilism and insanity on a hitherto unimaginable scale. The Silurian Hypothesis assesses modern science’s ability to detect evidence of a prior advanced civilization, perhaps several million years ago. The name ‘Silurian’ derives from the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who which, in 1970’s ‘Doctor Who and the Silurians’, posited an advanced civilization prior to humanity. Astrophysicists Adam Frank and Gavin Schmidt proposed the Silurian Hypothesis in a 2018 paper, exploring the possibility of detecting an advanced civilization before humans in the geological record. They argued that there has been sufficient fossil carbon to fuel an industrial civilization since the Carboniferous Period, 350 million years ago. However, finding direct evidence, such as technological artifacts, is unlikely due to the rarity of fossilization and Earth’s exposed surface. Instead, researchers might find indirect evidence, such as climate changes, anomalies in sediment, or traces of nuclear waste. The hypothesis also speculates that artifacts from past civilizations could be found on the Moon and Mars, where erosion and tectonic activity are less likely to erase evidence. Also, as detailed in Michael Cremo’s research, there is archaeological evidence showing that humans existed in these distant times. The origin and evolution of our species may be very different from that which we are led to believe.

In the winter of 2021, three artists – Aidan Killian, comedian; Tiernan O’Rourke, musician; and Stephen Murphy, poet – came together as brothers and set out on a quest to call in the intentions of love, healing, and freedom to the land of Éire. Over the course of 32 days they planted 32 flags on 32 mountains in the 32 counties of the sacred island of Ireland. The movie begins with a quote from the great Irish philosopher and mystic, John Moriarty: ‘Unless there’s wildness round you, something terrible happens to the wildness inside of you.’

The flag they chose was not the tricolour of contemporary usage, but the ancient flag of the Irish Citizens’ Army, immortalised as the flag referred to in the opening words of the 1916 Proclamation: In the name of God and of the dead generations from which she receives her old tradition of nationhood, Ireland, through us, summons her children to her flag and strikes for her freedom. In the West, a social, political and intellectual conflict is now raging.
