Welcome to the Journey

If you’ve ever felt like you’re learning faith as you go… you’re in the right place.

Learn as We Grow is a podcast hosted by Sarahanne and Breanne, two women from different generations walking the same road of faith — imperfectly, honestly, and with open hands.

We’re not experts.

We’re not theologians.

We’re just believers on the journey.

Every week, we open Scripture, share real stories, and explore what it means to follow Jesus in the middle of everyday life — the laundry, the questions, the joys, the tears, and the quiet moments where God whispers to our hearts.

In this episode, we step into one of the most sobering and powerful chapters of Scripture—Genesis 4, the story of Cain and Abel. It’s a narrative that marks the first fracture in human relationships after the fall, revealing how quickly sin moves from the heart into action.
Adam and Eve’s sons, Cain and Abel, each bring offerings before God—but only Abel’s is accepted. Instead of reflecting and correcting his heart, Cain allows jealousy and anger to take root. In that moment, God confronts him with a warning that echoes through history: “Sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
This vivid imagery portrays sin not as passive, but as something active—like a predator waiting for the right moment to strike. The tension builds as Cain stands at a crossroads between repentance and destruction. Tragically, he chooses the latter, committing the first murder by killing his brother Abel.
But this chapter is more than a story of violence—it is a deep exploration of the human condition. We see how unchecked emotions can lead to devastating consequences, how responsibility is often avoided (“Am I my brother’s keeper?”), and how sin seeks not just to tempt, but to control.
And yet, even in judgment, there is mercy. Though Cain is cursed and sent away, God places a mark on him for protection, showing that divine justice is never separated from compassion.
Genesis 4 also expands beyond the immediate tragedy, tracing the beginnings of human civilization—cities, culture, and innovation—while reminding us that progress does not erase the deep presence of sin in the human story.
By the end of the chapter, hope quietly re-emerges through the birth of Seth, pointing toward a future where people once again begin to call on the name of the Lord.

In Episode 5, we slow down and take a closer look at Genesis chapter 2, turning our attention from the wide‑angle view of creation in chapter 1 to an intimate portrait of how God forms humanity, establishes purpose, and designs relationship. We explore the creation of Adam, the Garden of Eden, and God’s intentional provision of work, rest, and companionship.

We explore the creation of Adam, the Garden of Eden, and God’s intentional provision of work, rest, and companionship.

This episode highlights what Genesis 2 reveals about human dignity, the meaning of work, God’s personal involvement with His creation, and the foundation of marriage. As we reflect on the creation of Eve and the first human relationship, we consider how God’s design for connection, responsibility, and unity still speaks powerfully into our lives today.

In this early episode of Learn as We Grow, Sarahanne and Breanne open up a gentle, honest conversation about what it feels like when faith feels intimidating, confusing, or “too big” to hold. Together, they explore how fear of religion can shape our stories — and how God meets us with grace, not pressure.

This episode invites listeners into:

- A real conversation about fear, doubt, and spiritual overwhelm
- The difference between religion that intimidates and a God who loves
- How grace softens the places where rules once felt heavy
- The freedom that comes from asking honest questions
- The beauty of discovering faith through relationship, not performance

With vulnerability and warmth, Sarahanne and Breanne share personal reflections and remind listeners that God is not afraid of your questions — He welcomes them.
