Mickelle’s Birth Story to Dom 👶🏽

We’ve been saying our birth stories were coming… and we FINALLY made it here. 🥹 Welcome to Part 1 of our Birth Stories Series!

We’re starting with Mickelle, as she shares her birth story with Dom—from pregnancy and delivery to an unexpected C-section and everything that came afterward.

But her story doesn’t end when Dom was born. Mickelle also opens up about the ups and downs of postpartum and what it was like navigating so much of that season alone. The emotions, the recovery, becoming a mom, and figuring out this completely new version of life while caring for a newborn.

One of the reasons we wanted to share all three of our stories is because no two birth stories—or postpartum journeys—look the same. Mickelle’s C-section experience is different from both Kaila’s and Regina’s birth stories, and we wanted each of us to have the space to tell our own experience.

There are hard moments, beautiful moments, laughs, side conversations, and of course the three of us being us. 😂🤍

This is Mickelle’s story. This is Dom’s birth story. And this is only Part 1. 🥹

In this episode of Barely Holding It Together, we’re talking about what life looks like when routines disappear — and why sometimes routines are exactly what keep us grounded.
