Thrive Against the Odds is for driven people who refuse to let the rhetoric of the world dictate what’s possible for their life. If rising costs, career challenges, relationship struggles, or fear of the future have made your dreams feel out of reach, this show is here to remind you of one truth: you are not powerless. You are in control. This podcast is about recognizing your power, trusting yourself, and realizing that more freedom, stronger relationships, financial growth, and a fulfilling life are available to you. When you step into the driver’s seat of your life, thriving isn’t just a dream anymore. It’s inevitable.

How often do you catch yourself thinking, "I'll be happy when..."?

In this episode, I talk about the trap so many of us fall into. We believe happiness will come once we reach the goal, get the promotion, change careers, get married, graduate, or finally achieve the thing we’ve been chasing.

But if happiness is always tied to the future, it never actually arrives.

The truth is that the life you want isn’t waiting somewhere down the road. You can start living it today. When you choose gratitude, shift your perspective, and become the person you think you’ll be someday, everything begins to change. Because the person you become creates the life you want. The life you want doesn't create the person you want to become.

The quality of your relationships, the money in your bank account, your work ethic, your career trajectory, it all reflects what you have decided is acceptable.

I share a concept from Ed Mylett about your “personal thermostat.” If your internal setting is at 70 degrees, you will reject anything that feels like 100. No matter how badly you say you want more, you will only allow what you believe you can tolerate.

So what would happen if you could no longer tolerate your current results? What would you change? What would you pursue? What would you start believing about yourself?

I walk you through how I recognized the problem, what I did to break the cycle, and the practical tools you can use to overcome any urge, whether it is something small like checking social media, something bigger like overdrinking, and everything in between.

You don’t become happy when you finally achieve something. You can be happy right now.

In this episode, I break down why the promotion, the relationship, the money, and the milestone don't suddenly give you the emotions you want. I share what I learned living in Ghana and how some of the most joyful people I’ve ever met had the least by the world’s standards.

Happiness doesn't come because of results. It’s a decision you can make today that will lead you to the results you want.

If you want confidence, success, and momentum in your life, it starts today, not when everything finally “falls into place.”

In this episode, I break down the mindset behind going 1–0 each day of your life. I talk about the championship run of the Indiana Hoosiers football team, the leadership philosophy of head coach Curt Cignetti, and what their approach teaches us about accomplishing seemingly impossible goals.

Big goals are built one day, one decision, one win at a time. When you stop obsessing over the whole season and commit to winning today, momentum takes care of the rest.

If you want a different year, start by going 1–0 today.

In this episode, I challenge the belief that discomfort and inconvenience are problems to escape. They are often the doorway to growth. When you learn to embrace them with equanimity, you stop reacting to life and start using it to your advantage.

I’ll read from Ed Mylett’s book The Power of One More where we will learn more about what it takes to embrace discomfort, why it matters, and the right and wrong way to do it.

In this first episode, I explore what it really means to thrive, what it takes to get there, and why striving for more is better than accepting the lie that the life you want is out of reach. I’ll give you a glimpse into my life and give you some tactics that you can use in your own life to get you out of a rut and build a better life.
