Grab your imaginary backpack, explorers.

Every episode of Modern Day Missionary Biographies for Kids takes young listeners somewhere real. Not a made-up place, and not long, long ago. These are true stories about people who are alive right now, in countries children can find on a map, doing things that are genuinely hard.

Host John Crosley is the Executive Director of Oakseed Ministries International, and he knows these missionaries personally. He has sat in their homes, met the children they care for, and heard these stories firsthand. That is what makes the show different from a storybook: when John says the babies at Love Link are big kids now, probably about your age, he means it.

Each episode runs about ten to fifteen minutes, with sound effects, music, a Mission Moment, and an Explorer Q&A. Kids come away having learned where a country is, what people eat there, how to say hello in another language, and what it looks like when someone keeps a promise that costs them something.

There are free printable activities for every episode at the Explorer’s Hub, including a passport kids can stamp as they travel along with the show.

Best for ages 6 to 11, and made to be listened to together.

<itunes:summary>True stories of real missionaries, told for kids.

Every episode, host John Crosley takes young explorers to a different country to meet someone who said yes to God and changed lives because of it. A Texan in cowboy boots who drove into a war zone to rescue starving babies. A nurse and his wife who gave up comfortable jobs to keep that work alive. A young woman in Ethiopia who made one promise to one worried mother and ended up raising hundreds of children.

These are not made-up heroes. They are real people, in real places, doing hard and beautiful things, and their stories are told honestly and gently for children about six to eleven.

Each episode has a Mission Moment your child can do right where they are, and an Explorer Q&A that invites them to ask their own questions. At missionsforkids.org you will find the Explorer’s Hub, with free printable activities, an interactive map, and a passport your kids can stamp as they travel along.

Grab your imaginary backpack. Stamp your pretend passport. Let’s go.
