I start my interview today's Guest Mark Dusbabek, with trying figure out how long since we seen each other. "FINALLY" The Grant House case been ratified by Judge Claudia Wilkins and she can retires from the bench. I inform who the heck Grant House is and is not. After a June 6th News dump. College athletic administrators are in lock step on how to run college sports? Well, that's what the "House Case Settlement is supposed to bring. Everyone singing, dancing, slapping each other on the back, kissing babies and taking a lap with their victory cigars? 

Before I get heavy into the fallout of the settlement, I discuss an oldie but, a goodie. The Connor Stallion case is back! The NCAA Committee on infractions meet with the parties involved in this one including Connor Stallion. Of course not Jim Harbaugh he is never planning on coaching in the college ranks again.  Michigan has tried to self impose a penalty in this case, but the Committee wanted to (remember this Committee in the future) hear the evidence from those involved before giving a final ruling in August. Michigan threw out a penalty of H/C Sherrone Moore would sit out weeks 3 & 4 under Michigan's Plan. The enforcement committee( remember this Committee in the future also) on infractions will probably have more to say on the matter. 

Back to the main story, Most of the fallout has been discussed on my show and others at nauseum. Playing athletes, back playing older athletes, how the will be divided amongst  present and future athletes. Roster limits and people to run college sports. Such as Bryan Seeley, I give you more on his background in the pod. How they handle new/real NIL to athletes? How schools don't opt into 'REV Share will live and those who do and dot abide/sign by the new agreements amongst themselves are dealt with or decide to cheat will be dealt with.

The House continue to take up time and space in our hearts, minds and worlds. Judge Wilkens has bent over backwards to give proper guidance on roster limits to the member institutions(the schools) that make up the NCAA. She have given more than hints. Judge Wilkins has given a road map to the schools and their leadership on how to get her to approve the House case settlement. On the other hand the schools and their leadership have to decided to play a game of chicken with Judge Wilkins and basically stated, no thanks, we will continue to do things as we see fit when comes to roster limits. If they don't do what she wants, things could get very messy for the school and very costly. The next week or so could be interesting for the smaller schools who don't want to pay their athletes , but would "NOT" be able stay alive if they lose in court. Remember these are the school that always voted to keep the amateurism model, not the Power 4 schools. If Judge Wilkins re-opens the House case, it's going to be a blood bath. So, why are these School leaders want to play a game of chicken with Judge Wilkens.

Some Georgia state legislators are betting on that can pass legislation that with allow the college athletes in their state to be tax exempt. They believe this legislation will aid in better recruiting at the schools in their state. One the biggest issues the NCAA faces is interference from State law makers who only see things that set advantages for their schools. Those law makers only make it difficult for the NCAA to pass law that are equal for all schools.

Speaking of Law makers our congress is being wooed by lobbyist of the NCAA to create and pass anti-trust laws to protect them from being sued  every time try to legislate the rules that are past by the member institutions. There is a strange twist, these same law makers are being wooed by leaders of NIL leaders for the athletes. The law makers are double dipping , but for who's benefit? Sounds like both side are betting on something will get done.

Lastly, The FBI is investigating point shaving and game influence in the NBA and College basketball. The colleges are fearing betting on many levels. The attacks on players social media and the lost of eligibility. Normally, schools would have turned to a booster to write a check to make a coach disappear. Now, the schools will need that booster money for past payments to athletes eligible to received a cut of the House settlement case. The will need that money for future athletes payments. This is also something thing the athletes wanted for a different reason.

The National Championship winning team. The Program lost it's D-1 status 3 years ago. Mike's hard work has kept the program alive via the Club Level. Mike and I discussed life as a club team and the perks and the disadvantages of their status change. We talked about the level of competition at the GYMACT level.

The other shoe in this double-double standard is the racial component that we throw into the picture. Good gal v bad gals. The wholesome white players and the dirty black. As we have seen in this and last years NCAA women basketball tourney. Players of both races act the same way on the court, but only to have them described differently by the media  and social media. We thought we finally got rid of this crap only to rear it's ugly head in women sports. 

In a lot of way the only thing the NCAA has gotten right, is the elevation of women sports. Partly it came kicking and screaming to the party, but they have really taken care of women sports in the past 20 years. Now if only the people outside the sport would the same. Women's basketball has come a long way from tip-toe ball throwing.(people in MN will understand that on.)

Should there be a draft in college sports? I would love hear from all you on that one.

The main topic for this week is surrounding the talk that All Could Collapse. What am I talking about. The ACC of course. With members suing the conference and blaming ESPN of being a bad partner. The schools of the ACC found out a couple of things in the past few weeks. One, they will be 30-60 million dollars per behind the schools of the B1G and SEC. This is the main reason why Clemson joined the party in suing the ACC. Clemson wants out and  they want to join either the B1G or SEC. The other fact the school of the ACC learned. ESPN could opt of its TV deal with the conference. Leaving the ACC twist in the wind and try to find better revenues and a better TV deal. ESPN has many reason to do so. What recourse does the ACC schools have? Sue to get and that line is getting longer or they could vote to dissolve the conference. Why would they that? At least they could call their shot and start a new or just split up on their on terms. They have until July 2025 to do so. This going to be a B1G story in the weeks to come in College sports.

I covered the new rules changes of college football. Next year the helmet communication devices. This should eliminate sign stealing issue and the side show of trying to disguise the play called. It looks like Connor Stallions will be out of work. Also, there will be a 2 minutes warning at the end of the 2nd qtr and 4th qtr. The TV people get a time out at the most dramatic times of the game guaranteed.  

Why did Trev Alberts leave the school he played for and take a job at Texas A&M?

The format for the 2026 CFP was agreed to and was approved. The SEC and B1G tried flex with its new found power. The wanted to get 4 automatic bids in the CFP. The G5, Big XII and the ACC called the bluff of the B1G and Sec, who stated if that if the They didn't get there way, they would leave the CFP and take their conference teams and start their own Playoff's with the backing of ESPN and Fox. They would have killed  off the CFP 2026 new extended format. When the other conferences said no to that many auto bids . The B1G and SEC gave in and agreed to 1 bid per conference, but they got what they really wanted. The B1G and SEC will get 53% of the CFP MONEY. Why is this important? Why some say the whining  of old college Coaches about working too hard and no time off. They are the highest paid employee's in each state. They are jut a bunch old men yelling at clouds. There was a 33 year old coach to paint a totally different picture.

NIL is wide open for now. The NCAA lost anther court case in Federal court and I talk about the ramification of that in college sports.

Oh, back to the agreement, the CFP is now set. The schools leaders have finally agreed to the 5+7 model=the winner of The B1G, SEC, ACC, Big XII will get an automatic bid to the CFP and be a top 4 seed. Also, the top rated G5 team rated by the college football playoff committee. There is a lot more to this I explain in the podcast.
