Today, I do not wish to write mainly about digital assets, although a lot has been happening:

- What's really stopping the US from advancing CLARITY?
- Has the EU positioned itself well in this industry with its MiCA?
- Is the MENA region outstripping the rest of the world in Web3 adoption and attracting more Fintech startups? Especially in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

Today, I wish to celebrate the people who have believed in a crazy idea that is still becoming.

Those were the very words of Coinbase's CEO, Brian Armstrong, quoting POTUS a day after the White House Crypto meeting held last week.

Can the United States hit that goal before 2030?

Yes. The world is watching.

Meanwhile, across other parts of our world:

- In Russia, the first comprehensive crypto law has officially been signed and is set to take effect on September 1st, establishing crypto trading across all of Russia, but with heavy Central Bank oversight.

- Brazil: Crypto investments are now the 5th most popular investment category in the country, surpassing stocks & gold, according to a recent national survey conducted by Brazilian Research Firms, with support from Coinbase and Hashdex.

- South Africa, earlier this month, released its first crypto draft framework for Cross-border activities, with hundreds of licensed VASPs already operating in the country.

- Switzerland's largest bank, UBS, recently disclosed holding $83 million worth of Bitcoin in an ETF.

- El Salvador continues to buy 1 BTC per day as part of its Accumulation Strategy

- While North Korea is always busy evading sanctions with bitcoin....haha!

🎙️ "Crypto is Dead"... certainly not the first time :)

Yet, while many are still debating whether crypto is dead or alive,

countries are quietly making long-term decisions.
Not for the next market cycle, but for the next financial era.

Our world, as I know it, has already embraced this new financial system:

- The Bank of Russia has officially published its Plans to launch the cryptocurrency market in the region.
- Kazakhstan, with CZ as its prominent advisor, recently approved a national strategic crypto reserve.
- The United States continues to strongly push for the CLARITY Act into law: crypto's biggest legislation on the planet, as we know it.

And the list goes on and on!

This is exactly why I often speak about "Crypto Politics."

Because behind every regulation, reserve strategy, or institutional framework lies something much bigger:

Economic competitiveness.

Not everyone will move at the same pace......including China!

But every nation is now deciding where it wants to stand in tomorrow's financial system.

As Coinbase's Chief Policy Officer, Faryar Shirzad, recently said on Fox Business:

"The next generation of (our) financial system is being built as we speak using crypto technology."

Whether we agree or disagree,

one question deserves serious attention:

Where will the digital asset industry be five years from today?

"...Now the largest economy in the world is adopting crypto....They're setting up crypto reserves.

That means any other country who's not doing that now is going to be at a significant disadvantage when they want to do that later.

Because the richest country is going to buy Bitcoin first......I think we're going to see a race towards countries (accumulating) Bitcoin......."

And as I see it too,

that race may have already begun.

Kicking off the start of another cycle at Apraemio, I recently had a conversation with my CEO, and his optimism struck me again, as it always does:

🇦🇪 Having read VARA, I agree with one of Crypto's respected International voices — Anton Golub — that the world needs to learn from the UAE's regulatory approach.

🇳🇬 My opinion: Nigeria should improve its regulatory approach — even if all cryptocurrencies ‘may be’ classified as securities, certainly not Bitcoin! Regardless, the country continues to lead Africa in this innovation as the Powerhouse.

🇮🇳 And what about India? Great people & vibe! But a 30% flat tax on profits from trading crypto, 1% TDS, 4% cess alone by its government is outrageous — and the recent 18% GST on CEX fees! No official Framework yet. Only a heavy crypto tax regime. Now, here's another opinion: India needs crypto as much as Asia needs a Crypto India to lead the region.
