As an Applied Developmental Psychologist, Dr. Deborah Heiser began researching the positive mental outcomes of aging. This work led her to the revelation that giving back is the ultimate means to achieve life fulfillment. With this understanding, she went on to found The Mentor Project which provided her with the insights to author the book “The Mentorship Edge.”

Today she will discuss how hierarchical mentorship, while still relevant, is no more meaningful than lateral mentorship; why it is equally important for the old to learn from the young; and how the mentor/mentee relationship needs to be organic for best results.
