Episode 136: When the Trials Come: Trusting in The Goodness of the Lord

Have you ever been through a trial that brought you face to face with the truth that you have NO control over your situation - whether that be health issues, relationship issues, or other issues? If you have ever experienced the extremity of knowing your own helplessness to change, manipulate, or otherwise exert control over your situation, then you might have had the privilege to have deep knowledge of what it means in scripture that when we are weak, then He is strong. It is a very humbling place to be. In today’s episode, we would like to share encouragement with you that when the trials come, God is still Good and we can continue to trust in His goodness - even when the end of the trial is not obviously near.

Bible verse: Romans 5:3-5 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

If you’re feeling doubtful about your work as a leader, take heart: your Father in Heaven sees your faithfulness, and your efforts matter to Him.

Take a deep breath and relax. Here are 5 simple questions to get you organized and help you think through this process. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming or perfect right out of the gate. Give yourself grace to make changes over time and adjust your expectations, knowing that this is an ongoing process. You are building a community to grow together in faith and it takes time.

How are you doing homeschool mama? Do your kids (and maybe you) have spring fever? Have you been deep in the trenches with your homeschool co-op and are just READY to be done with this year? Whew! What’s a homeschooling mom going to do to survive?! Episode 19: Are Conflicts Destroying Relationships in your Community? 5 Reasons Why You Need a Conflict Policy!

Why do you need a conflict policy?

1. Conflict is inevitable. James 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder . . .

James 4:1 What causes quarrels and causes fights among you? You desire and do not have . . . you covet and you do not obtain.

2. Preparation is necessary. Don’t want to be caught unprepared. Just when you think all is well, something will come up.

3. The Word is your guide, especially when emotions are high. Emotions can be unreliable.

4. The process is clear. Everyone knows what to expect when conflict happens. Policy should have clear steps to follow.

5. Resolution is possible. Set your community up for success.

Christ's Example of Humility Philippians 2:1-7 2 Therefore if there is any [a]consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,[a] 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,[b] 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant,[c] being born in the likeness of men.
