Your automatic thoughts are often revealing far more than you realize. In this episode, we’re talking about cognitive distortions and the limiting beliefs that often exist underneath them. Cognitive distortions are the automatic thought patterns many of us experience every day, such as catastrophizing, black-and-white thinking, overgeneralizing, or mind reading. These patterns are often easier to recognize than the deeper unconscious beliefs driving them. I break down the difference between cognitive distortions and limiting beliefs, then walk through the downward arrow technique to show how repetitive thought patterns can point back to deeper beliefs about yourself, other people, and the world.

In this episode of Love, Layla, we talk about why healing is not just about changing your thoughts—it is about creating safety in the body first. I explore how triggers, limiting beliefs, and nervous system dysregulation keep us stuck in old patterns, and why true change happens when we regulate before we rewire. We cover the brain science behind triggers, unprocessed emotions, practical tools for calming the nervous system, and how to stop living from survival mode so you can finally access the version of you that feels grounded, free, and whole.

In this episode, we're getting into the truth about beliefs - what they are, how they're formed, and how they quietly shape your entire reality. You're not just experiencing life as it is, you're experiencing it through the lens of what you believe to be true.

We also talk about healing in a deeper way - not as becoming someone new, but as returning to who you really are. Peeling back the layers of conditioning, patterns, and narratives that taught you to play small, and coming back to your truth, your power, and your authentic self.
