The crux of this show is growth — on the individual level and on the communal level. Host Brandon Korgan talks with people who can look back on lived experience and see how it changed them, and how it changed the people around them. Those stories are not decoration. They are the material the show works with.

Brandon Korgan opens Growing through the Motions with a short solo episode: who he is, what the show is, and what a conversation should leave you with. Life as it is actually lived — Tuesdays, hard stretches, ordinary good — and how we grow through it, in ourselves and in the people around us.

Most of us do not get a clean season labeled growth. We get Tuesdays. We get the year that flies. We get the thing we did not choose, and the thing we said yes to and then thought, what did I just do.

In this first episode, host Brandon Korgan sits down alone and tells you why Growing through the Motions exists. It is a conversation show about growth at two levels at once: what happens in a person, and what happens in the room around that person.

Coming episodes will mix two kinds of guests. People who can look back on something they lived and see how it changed them — and how it changed family, neighbors, coworkers, a church, a town. And people whose daily work is other people’s progress: coaches, organizers, educators, practitioners, builders.

The show is for a broad room. People still healing. People who have lost gratitude and need a constructive way to look back. Elders whose stories still have work to do. People in the heavy middle — kids, work, aging parents — who need a vantage point more than a life overhaul. If the most honest sentence you have right now is “I am just trying to get by,” you are not talked down to here.

What Brandon hopes you leave with is not a new personality. A clearer way to live inside the life you already have. One usable thing you can carry into a Wednesday. And this: you matter, and sharing your story matters too.

If you know someone whose story should not stay only in the family — an elder, a neighbor, somebody who stretched past their comfort and came back with something worth handing on — tell them about the show, or tell Brandon about them.
