Prayer || The Path week 4 with V Gilmour

This is our fourth week in the series of The Path, looking at practical application of what it means to follow Jesus and experience the adventure of faith in community. This week V brings us a teaching on Prayer, uncovering how prayer is how we build relationship and connection with God. Prayer is a skill we can build, the practice of consciously entering into His presence.

This week we begin by honoring Shane and Lauren Horton for their 22 years of service at Goodlife. Shane has worked in and been our gym manager and together they lead our Youth group for many years. As Shane finishes up his current role as our Gym Manager we give thanks and honor his many years of dedicated service to our Church and Community Centre.

Bible Meditation || The Path week 3 with Joren Berry

Forget traditional ideas of meditation. Joren explains the significance of reading the Bible and how meditating on scripture results in the core goal of the Bible, which is: formation not information.

Other forms of meditation are aiming to dismiss the mind and achieve nothingness, biblical Mediation is different because we are engaging our mind, considering how we change our physical and mental habits with the goal of getting the word from the head to the heart. With the goal of inviting God in to transform us in our head, hands and heart.

This week Jono introduces the first of our series on the spiritual disciplines that together provide a path to following Jesus.

The week we are focusing on worship as is found in Romans 12:1 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship."

Jono unpacks worship not just as singing songs, but a response to God's love and mercy. Worship is a response to God's love and mercy. It's wholeheartedly loving God, surrender and complete devotion to following Jesus.

What does it mean to wholeheartedly follow Jesus, and make him the Lord of our lives?

Today, Nic shares a message introducing our new series The Path. Over the following weeks we are discovering what it means to be a disciple - A person who lives a life shaped by the spiritual disciplines of Jesus; and who disciples other disciples. We're looking at Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and learning how to love God with all our heart (head), soul (heart) and strength (hands)

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."

Faith Over Fear - Stepping Into 2026 || Kings Kingdom week 1 with Joren Berry

As we step into 2026, the future feels uncertain. New beginnings often bring anxiety about the unknown, leaving us with a choice: will we respond with faith or fear?

In Matthew 2:13–23, we see the contrast between Joseph’s faithful obedience and Herod’s fearful need for control. Through Matthew’s fulfilment themes, Jesus is revealed as the true Messiah, bringing a New Exodus, ending exile, and coming for the lost. This ancient story invites us to trust God’s character and step into obedience, even when the path ahead is unclear.

As this year begins, ask yourself: What is God asking me to be obedient in during 2026?

How to make life decisions? || GRIT with Lucas Bartlett week 10

Sometimes the hardest truths in Scripture come disguised in the simplest words. James 4:13–17 is one of those passages—it’s short, practical, and deeply personal. The message begins at: 11:25 It’s about how we plan, dream, and make decisions. And James asks us to consider whether our plans are built around our will or God’s.

This message explores what happens when we live by “my will”—and the freedom and purpose that come when we live by “Thy will.” It’s both a warning and an invitation: to shift from self-determination to divine partnership.

We are delighted to welcome a special guest speaker Lucas Bartlett is the Co-Lead Pastor of Surf Church Phillip Island alongside his with Ash and the Principal of CSALT Academy (Christian surfers advanced leadership training), a discipleship and leadership training school for young surfing adults. As Principal of CSALT Academy, Lucas has invested in raising up the next generation of Christian Surfers leaders. CSALT Academy provides immersive discipleship, theological training, and mission experiences, equipping young adults to live boldly for Christ in their everyday contexts.

Lucas’ heart is to empower others to discover their calling and to step into leadership with both courage and humility.

GRIT Week 1 || Pure Joy (with Nic Gilmour)

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be diving into the book of James, a short but powerful letter written by Jesus’ half-brother. Known for his wisdom and courage, James challenges us to live out our faith with practical, wholehearted devotion.

This week Nic focuses on James 1:2 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." He considers what does a gritty, real faith look like, and how can we not just endure but rather grow through struggles and difficulties.
