A solo reflection on the subtle territory of what gets received versus what was sent. No matter how careful we are with our words, there's a point when they leave our hands. Every message is an act of trust cast into the current, hoping to reach another shore.

This episode turns on a distinction I keep coming back to. Reality isn't a static mirror. It's a living conversation.

We tend to treat communication as transmission — as though meaning were a package that either arrives intact or gets lost on the way. But nothing is received the way it was sent. It passes through a history, a body, a nervous system with its own weather, and what comes out the other side has been remade by the receiving. We are not just speakers and listeners. We are both receivers and transmitters at once, and every exchange subtly alters what is real for both of us.

Beneath it all is something the heart already knows. Sometimes our notes are discordant with others. Sometimes they harmonize. Both have their place.

"When we lean into that silence, we go past our thought-spirals, past that constant stream of consciousness, and into that stillness. It's the back note of our being."

This episode is part of our opening arc, “Between Signal & Synchronicity: The Art of Transmission”

Chris Kaplan welcomes director, playwright, and esoteric artist Emmanuel Martin Di Feliciantonio (“Manu”) for a wide-ranging conversation on the creative process, artistic accidents, “the creator’s frequency,” and the mysterious transmissions that shape great art. The two discuss their history of collaboration, the evolution of Lionel Phantom into his new play “4 to 7,” the interplay of discipline and inspiration, and why every artist is a midwife for the unknown.

Highlights & Topics:

• What is an esoteric artist? The ineffable, frequency, and the creative signal
• The “creator’s frequency” and channeling inspiration
• Art accidents, happy mistakes, and the power of not-knowing
• Translating ideas across mediums: novels, plays, and film
• The evolution from Lionel Phantom to “4 to 7”
• Collaboration, synchronicity, and the signal
• Discipline vs. inspiration: keeping creativity alive through life’s changes
• The legacy of art in a digital age and the value of the physical
• Art as alchemy: transformation, initiation, and letting go
• Announcing “4 to 7” performance dates and upcoming projects

Featured Quotes:

“Esoteric art isn’t about the content. It’s about the expression of what’s in between—the frequency that connects us to something outside the obvious.”

“Accidents aren’t mistakes; they’re the truth of the moment. The creative process is a dance with the unknown, and sometimes the accident is the masterpiece.”

“We don’t control the signal, but we have the responsibility to tune in, to respond. The signal is coming to us, and all we can do is meet it.”

“Art is a living process—sometimes you have to let go of control and let the work become what it needs to be, even if it means surrendering your ego.”

Host Chris Kaplan invites you into the wild for a meditative solo reflection on creativity, myth, and the unseen transmissions that shape art and life. Recorded in the forest, this episode weaves presence, ritual, astrology, and gratitude into a lived example of what it means to tune into the creator’s frequency. Chris explores the magic of synchronicity, the dance between individuality and the collective, and the cosmic cycles that shape our inner and outer worlds—setting the stage for the mythic conversations and transmissions to come in this mini-series.

Highlights & Topics:

Listening to the land, attuning to synchronicity, and honoring natural rhythms

Reflections on geomagnetic storms, solar cycles, and the mythic record

The interplay of myth, science, and collective consciousness

Creative “transmissions,” the Uranian impulse, and the birth of ideas

Preview of coming guest conversations (Nat Girsberger, Eric Meyers, Emmanuel Martin Di Feliciantonio)

The end of the guru, Pluto in Aquarius, and the Leo–Aquarius polarity

Nuance, perception, and surrender of ego in art

Embracing the “not-silence,” noise, and music of the world

The alchemy of creation: luck, discipline, and the medicine of polarity

Finding belonging, honoring individuality, and integrating into the collective

How to connect for essays, readings, and the newsletter

Featured Quotes:

“The idea that these messages sort of come to you—you listen, it sounds like it comes from within, but there’s really a reflection from without.”

“These creations wish to be born, finding the right conduit, the right channel, the fertile ground. The idea doesn’t come from the individual; it’s more of a tuning in and a listening.”

“Every act of creation, every moment of service or play, is part of a larger weaving of memory between past and presence.”

“As we enter this age of Aquarius, we’re confronted with that polarity of who am I among the collective? What kind of drop am I among the sea?”
