Inside Ava and Ava: Building a DMV Psychological Thriller | Friendship & Flow

The DMV is getting a new psychological thriller.

This week on The Friendship & Flow Show, we’re joined by Isaac Loyal, Danielle Bowman, and Janae Smith, the creators and producers behind the upcoming film Ava and Ava.

The team takes us inside the vision behind the film, the process of bringing an independent production to life in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area, and what it takes to move a project from an idea into casting, auditions, production, and ultimately the screen. With Ava and Ava planned for release in 2027, we talk about the story behind the project, their filmmaking journey, and their plans for building something special right here in the DMV.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be Friendship & Flow without the conversations going completely off the rails along the way.

We get into relationships, adult friendships, money, faith, self-reflection, boundaries, and personal growth, including:

🎬 Inside Ava and Ava — Meet the creators and hear how this DMV psychological thriller is coming together.

❤️ Choosing Familiar Over What You Really Want — Why do we keep choosing what's comfortable, even when we know it isn't what we truly want?

💰 Your Network Is Your Net Worth — Why getting outside, meeting people, and building genuine relationships can create opportunities money can't buy.

🙏🏾 Adulting Ain't Easy — How do you deal with overly critical Christians without allowing someone else's judgment to affect your faith?

📱 What's the Tea with E — How long is too long to stay in the DMs before somebody finally makes a move?

👯 Friendships as Adults — Have friendships become too low-maintenance, or are some friends simply asking for too much?

🚩 Flag It or Respect It — Should your partner be expected to come to your doctor's appointments?

🧠 The Hard Truth — Sometimes we're so busy investigating everybody else's behavior that we forget to investigate ourselves. What happens when the person who needs the most examination is you?

😂 Group Chat — If your best friend's business isn't good, are you honest enough to tell them?

🔥 Come Get Your Friend — The crew reacts to the wildest stories, celebrity moments, and internet conversations of the week.

🏈 Mahd-Set Moment — Stop measuring your life only by touchdowns. Sometimes progress looks like getting the first down, moving the chains, and putting yourself in position for the next play.

It's filmmaking, friendship, relationships, growth, laughs, and the kind of conversations that could only happen on Friendship & Flow.

Special Guests: Isaac Loyal, Danielle Bowman & Janae Smith — creators and producers of Ava and Ava

In this episode of The Friendship & Flow Show, the crew dives into real conversations about responsibility, relationships, and the cultural debates everyone is talking about.

The discussion starts with Money Moves, where the team explores the importance of estate planning, wills, and preparing your family for the unexpected. Is failing to plan financially actually failing the next generation?

From there, the conversation shifts into relationships and personal growth. The crew debates whether age truly equals wisdom, and whether hyper-independence — the “I got it” mentality — might actually be blocking intimacy and connection.

Later in the show, things heat up with cultural topics and trending debates, including Cam Newton’s viral statement that only parents and children love you unconditionally. Is romantic love conditional, or does real love still exist in modern relationships?

Other conversations include:

• When it’s time to walk away from friendships
• Are we avoiding commitment or healing at our own pace?
• Why growth requires discomfort
• Dating becoming 40% more expensive
• The culture debate: UNO vs Spades — has game night changed?

It’s a mix of real talk, cultural commentary, and honest perspectives from the Friendship & Flow crew.

In this powerful and personal episode of Friendship & Flow, host Jason sits down with longtime friend and former high school teammate Rahmad Powell for a raw conversation about second chances, resilience, and the journey from rock bottom to reinvention.

Jason opens up about one of the most difficult chapters of his life — getting a DUI that cost him his job, career, and sense of direction. What started as a devastating moment turned out to be the push he never knew he needed. Through failed attempts at flipping houses and the struggle to survive, he discovered his true calling in real estate — not just as a hustle, but as a passion and purpose.

Together, Jason and Rahmad reflect on how their friendship evolved after more than a decade apart. Now grown men with wisdom, stories, and scars, they explore how true brotherhood can grow stronger through time, healing, and shared growth.

This episode is about accountability, personal transformation, and the power of reconnection. Whether you’re going through something tough or looking for a sign to pivot — this is the one you need to hear.

What better day to launch Friendship & Flow than Valentine’s Day—a day about love, connection, and relationships… none of which have worked out for me, but hey, we move!

In this first episode, host Jason Miller dives into his wild journey through dating disasters, business struggles, and life’s unpredictable lessons. From getting kicked out (while someone kept his luggage) to experiencing fake breakups that turned into fake emergencies—yeah, he’s seen it all. And let’s not even start on entrepreneurship—because nothing humbles you faster than a "we need to talk" text.

But that’s what Friendship & Flow is all about—real talk, real stories, and real growth. Some episodes will be hilarious, some will hit deep, but every time, it’s unfiltered and relatable. Plus, Jason will bring on entrepreneurs, creatives, and storytellers who have found love, lost love, taken risks, and figured sh*t out along the way.

If you love comedy, real-life lessons, and authentic conversations about love, business, and success, you’re in the right place.
