It begins with Harry Vardon—a six-time Open Championship winner, innovator of the modern grip, and widely known as the straightest hitter of his era. During his time, Vardon worked closely with Bill Mehlhorn and showed him something essential about the golf swing—something rooted in natural motion and efficiency that many believe has been lost in the modern game.

Mehlhorn went on to become a winner of over 20 PGA Tour events and 43 worldwide, held the four-day scoring record for more than 17 years, and was a member of the first U.S. Ryder Cup team. He was a true pioneer who helped shape the modern game, even introducing the numbering system for golf clubs still used today. Remarkably, he achieved a 27% win rate in tournaments entered, despite being, by his own admission, a poor putter.

More than that—he taught.

Mehlhorn worked with and influenced some of the greatest players in history, including Ben Hogan, who famously said Mehlhorn was “the finest ball striker I’ve ever seen.” His reach also extended to legends such as Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Jackie Burke, Mickey Wright, Babe Zaharias, Gene Littler, and many more.

Mehlhorn personally mentored tour player Sal Monte—and Mike, Sal’s son, received this rare, time-tested knowledge firsthand.

He serves as the Director of Operations at Dallas Life, a faith-based homeless shelter in downtown Dallas. Together, they are the proud parents of their incredibly talented adult daughter, Ashley, who currently resides in Kentucky. Jamie’s father, Earl, lives with them in their home in the Dallas suburbs and has played a key role in the formation and development of R[4] over the years.

Pastor Dennis and Susan Hester had a daughter Katie, who was born with many health issues.  She loved life and lived it to its fullest until she met Jesus face-to-face on July 1, 2004 at the age of 14 years 11 months. This episode is the incredible story of that journey.

DR. DENNIS HESTER began his ministry as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Watauga in February of 2005 after a successful 13 year pastorate at FBC in May, Texas. In May 2021, he earned a PhD in Pastoral Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he now serves periodically as an adjunct professor in Pastoral Ministry. He also holds a BA in Practical Theology from Howard Payne University and a MA in Theology from SWBTS. He and Susan have been married since 1987 serving in ministry together as they raised their four daughters.

Recently John Powers was diagnosed with ACUTE LEUKEMIA. He was told he likely had six months to live if his treatments did not work. He started treatments and they were not very effective. John was dying.

This is an incredible story of how it is not over until it is over!

Pain is undeniable. Suffering is not prejudice toward anyone. Regardless of who we are, it's not a question of "if" we will hurt but rather "when" will suffering be introduced to our lives. That's why it is so important that we prepare today for tomorrow's struggles. Imagine standing on a bank of a body of water and skipping a stone across the surface. Each time the stone touches the water a ripple effect is created and grows to the water's edge. Likewise, pain can create uncontrollable and inconceivable ripple effects in our lives too. We encounter it personally. It impacts those around us. However, the depth and severity of pain cannot be calculated. It must be experienced. 

Pain is like taking an exam and then we get the answers afterwards, A season of suffering can be so vast, so deep that wrapping our minds around the experience seems impossible. Fellow sufferer, there is hope for all of us. I trust these studies will encourage you to fight for life...your life. Any struggle demanded of us requires a personal decision to stare it down with resolve to beat it. There is a brighter day coming. May sunshine warm your face and healing winds be at your back. May you discover the joy of dying to live. Whoever chooses so will never be the same!

Andy M. Spencer joined the Arthur Valve and Fitting Company in 1987 as a salesperson in San Antonio, Texas. He was named Corpus Christi Area Sales Manager in 1991 and Branch Manager of the Corpus Christi office in 1993. Andy was appointed as the Austin Systems Manager in 1995, and moved back to San Antonio as the Branch Manager in 1997. Two years later, 1999 brought the responsibility of Arthur Valve and Fitting General Manager; a leadership role that encompassed all three branches of Arthur Valve and Fitting. In January of 2002, Andy took over ownership and renamed the company Arthur Fluid System Technologies. In February of 2010, Andy sold the business and began pursuing new interests in consulting and commercial real estate.

Andy is continually educating himself and others in areas ranging from basic selling skills to efficiency training, change management and team building. Andy has spoken to classes at Baylor University, Emanuel Baptist University in Romania as well as industry conferences.

Mr. Spencer received a BBA in Entrepreneurship/Marketing from Baylor University in 1987. While at Baylor, Andy served as the Mascot from 1984 - 1987 taking the mascot program from a promotional character for Wendy’s Hamburgers to a member of the Baylor Spirit Squads. Andy competed with 40 other mascots in the summer of 1986 at SMU and was given the "Best Mascot Award" at that competition. He currently serves as a board member for the Baylor Bear Foundation. Andy serves as a Deacon and the Men’s Ministry Coordinator at Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. Andy is also the Chairman of the Board for the Austin Pregnancy Resource Center. Andy coaches two non-profits; Ascend Outdoor Adventures and Enlightened Warriors Boot Camp. Andy is on the board of the Don Whitt Evangelistic Association.

Andy’s family includes his wife Kathy and two daughters Deanna and Andrea. They live in northwest Austin and are active in church and community activities.

Eric H. Vaughan served eight years as the executive director of Compassion Center of Northwest Arkansas, a non-profit ministry affiliated with Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas, that assists the vulnerable and food insecure. In his role at the ministry, Vaughan led the Compassion Center to establish “Feed the 479,” a food pantry that grew from annually serving 5,000 individuals to over 135,000 individuals while simultaneously establishing and operating multiple businesses to fund the ministry. The state of Arkansas recognized the work of Vaughan and his team as leaders in the fight against hunger and the organization was awarded multiple grants to continue their efforts. 

Vaughan earned a Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master of Arts in theology and leadership from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

A “worldview” refers to a comprehensive conception of the world from a specific standpoint. An individual’s worldview is a persons “big picture,” of all his/her beliefs about the world. It is a persons way of understanding reality. One’s worldview is the basis for understanding as well as making decisions and is therefore extremely important. 

Thus, your worldview shapes how you look at everything in life.

Our culture will shape us into its image if we are not careful. It is extremely important to develop a Christian worldview. A “Christian worldview,” then, is a comprehensive conception of the world from a Christian standpoint. 

Ryan Helfenbein is the executive director of the Standing for Freedom Center and the vice president of communications and public engagement at Liberty University.

Because life, liberty, and truth are under attack in an increasingly secular and hostile age, the Standing For Freedom Center exists to advance and defend the unchanging principles of freedom for the next generation.

Prior to his tenure with the center, Ryan worked in various political capacities advancing conservative values and messaging. His positions range from deputy executive director for communications and public information with the office of Governor Matt Bevin, R-Kent., public information officer for the Department for Local Government (DLG), and project manager for a federal study of state occupational licensing practices. The project sought to decrease the barriers to entry into the workforce imposed by occupational licensing as well as recommend the optimum structure for board autonomy and state regulation. As part of the project, Ryan organized training for members of the states’ licensing boards to help guide them in best practices as well as provide ethical and legal advice to prevent any possible issues.

The Temple Mount is the holiest place in Judaism, as the site of the biblical Temples. The Temple Mount (which Muslims call the Noble Sanctuary – Haram al Sharif) remains a site of worship for Muslims alone, and a site that non-Muslims may visit. Temple Mount entry restrictions are restrictions on entering the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif in Jerusalem. Non-Muslims may enter the Temple Mount at designated times, but are forbidden to pray there. Christians and Jews may only visit the site as tourists and only for four hours per day five days per week. The fact that Jews are not permitted to pray at the site is a source of pain to some and bafflement to others.

Why are most Christians strongly pro-life? 

From the first century, Christians have been against abortion and infanticide. It has been the Christian view for 2000 years that all humans are of equal moral worth regardless of age, ability or anything else. Only the Judeo-Christian worldview supports and has promoted this revolutionary idea.

If “the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished” (2 Peter 3:6), it would undoubtedly leave an indelible memory of the generations following the Flood.

As people groups spread and migrated after the Tower of Babel, they would carry with them the Flood story. Through the centuries, stories of the Flood were passed on to each generation via early patriarchs such as Joseph, Jacob, and Abraham, records that Moses had access to. As the years went by in some parts of the world, there would be editing and embellishments of the Flood event, but the basic story of judgment via a worldwide deluge, the preservation of a remnant in a structure, and the events directly afterwards would be preserved. The account of the Flood in Genesis comes from Noah himself and is written and edited by Moses and is not dependent on Near Eastern texts. Knowing this, a wise historian would search out similarities between Moses’ Flood story and the flood stories told in other cultures.

Nick Liguori is a civil engineer and a researcher. He has applied his knowledge of biblical history to painstakingly put together a compendium of Flood traditions from North and South America. His 2021 book documents these fascinating oral traditions. Entitled Echoes of Ararat (Master Books, 298 pages), Liguori shows the reader that the critical opening chapters of Genesis are true and historically accurate. Such Flood traditions have been found to be even more prevalent than was originally thought, offering Liguori’s book as a fresh new resource for those interested in Flood geology and early biblical history.

Throughout history, God has been looking for faithful men and women. In the story of David, we meet a man God found. Throughout David’s life, we learn about the riches of God’s grace, the heights of God’s love, the depths of His patience, the trauma of our sin, and the dependability of God’s Promises. David was a good man. But he was also a sinful man. He loved God, served God, obeyed God, and worshiped God. He also failed God … a lot. At times he sought God, and, at other times, he seemed to avoid Him. In the end, the hero of this story isn’t David. Maybe the times when David forgot that are the moments of his deepest failures. The story of David is a story about God. It’s a story about a seeking, loving, holy, and faithful God. God saw David. He saw David’s humility in his obscurity, and He saw David’s arrogance in his prominence. Through everything and despite everything, God loved David, sought David, chose David, and used David. Believers today can be encouraged that God wants to do the same for us. He loves you, is seeking you, is calling you, and wants to use you. The question you must answer is: What will it take for you to become a man or a woman after God’s heart?

Dr. Deron J. Biles and his wife, Jaye, have four sons and six grandchildren. Dr. Biles graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood in 1989 with a BA in Bible and History; received an MDivBL from Southwestern Seminary in 1992; and a Ph.D. from Southwestern in Old Testament in 1997.

Dr. Biles served as a Pastor for 15 years. He is currently the Pastor of Pastor of Sunnyvale FBC. He has also served as Interim Pastor in twelve Churches.

The Scriptures contain an incredible wealth of knowledge in what they communicate about the science of astronomy. The Universe was created with purpose and reason; and modern science with all of its experiments, exploration, and sophistication has never proven otherwise.  Author Dr. Danny Faulkner makes plain that advanced science argues more created cosmology than a big bang.  

While the stars appear timeless, they instead reflect an all-powerful Creator who speaks of them in the Bible. Dr. Danny Faulkner holds an MS in physics from Clemson University, an MA and a PhD in astronomy from Indiana University, and he taught at the University of South Carolina—Lancaster for over 26 years. He has published over 100 papers in various journals. He has written several books on astronomy. Danny works as a researcher, author, and speaker for Answers in Genesis. He also hosts Ark Encounter trips down to Red River Gorge (in eastern Kentucky), and Stargazer’s Nights (at the Johnson Observatory); he also hosts Astronomy Live programs, and “The Skies Proclaim His Handiwork” workshops at the Creation Museum.

Anthony Costello was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago to a devout and loving Roman Catholic family, He fell away from my childhood faith as a young man. For years he lived a life of his own design– a life of sin. But, at the age of 34, while serving in the United States Army, he set foot in his first Evangelical church. Hearing the Gospel preached, as if for the first time, he had a powerful, reality-altering experience of Jesus Christ. That day, He called him to Himself and to His service, and he has walked with Him ever since.

He studied Christian Apologetics and Theology at Biola University, Talbot School of Theology. He graduated in 2016 with an MA in Apologetics and in 2018 with an MA in Theology, winning the Baker Book Award for Excellence In Theology. He has published articles in academic journals such as Luther RIce Journal of Christian Studies and the Journal of Christian Legal Thought. He also contributed two chapters to Evidence that Demands a Verdict, edited by Josh and Sean McDowell. He has published articles for magazines such as Touchstone and online news sites like The Christian Post. He currently lives in Orange County, CA with his three boys, Colson, Schaeffer and Clive Costello.

Jordan Wilson was a great kid from a great home. While experiencing the pain of a knee injury, Jordan started abusing pain pills, sometimes as many as twenty pills a day. He began dealing drugs and then began doing meth.

He got caught in the vortex of drug addiction. Yes, this can happen to good kids from normal homes. 

Jordan eventually got in serious trouble and went to jail. His addiction led to hopelessness and then homelessness. He eventually gave up hope of ever overcoming his addition. He was in and out of jail and rehab from 2012 thru 2016. He was even kicked out of the Friends of Sinners program. He was going to die before 30 years of age.  

But he overcame drugs. Not only did he beat drugs but he now works at the very drug rehabilitation program that he got kicked out of…3 times! 

Jordan wrote his story in the book “Jesus > Drugs” to give people hope and to let them know that through Jesus Christ, they can be healed and recover from addiction.
