Fishbowl Roulette is where real conversations meet a little bit of chaos.

Here’s the deal…

Every episode, my guest and I pull questions out of a fishbowl. We don’t know what’s coming next. It could be deep, funny, uncomfortable, outrageous, or surprisingly meaningful.

Just like life.

The bowls are filled with topics like beliefs, relationships, hot topics, wildcards, and the occasional “did we really just ask that?” question. The result is the kind of conversation you usually only hear around a dinner table with good friends after the second glass of wine.

No scripts.

No pretending.

Just honest people talking about real things.

Some episodes will make you laugh out loud. Some might make you think. And a few might poke at things we normally avoid saying out loud.

But that’s the point.

I believe people connect through authenticity, curiosity, and a little bit of courage. And when we’re willing to pull a question out of the bowl and go there, something interesting always happens.

So welcome to Fishbowl Roulette.

Pull up a chair.

You never know what question is coming next.

Ten episodes in.

Which honestly feels kind of wild.

In this episode of Fishbowl Roulette, I talk about what I’ve learned from creating something before feeling fully ready — the awkwardness, the doubt, the momentum, and why starting messy may actually be the point.

Then we pull a question from the fishbowl:

“How do you and your partner stay emotionally connected?”

My answer?
Intentional time. Choosing each other first. And protecting your relationship by how you think about — and speak about — one another when the other person isn’t in the room.

This episode is about connection.
To your dreams.
To your people.
And to yourself.

Pull up a chair.
Let’s get real.

From launching a food truck out of an old FedEx truck to building restaurants, live music venues, and unforgettable experiences in Southeast Missouri, Carisa Stark joins Sandra Koenig for a wildly honest episode of Fishbowl Roulette. What starts as a conversation about hospitality and hometown roots quickly turns into a deeper discussion about leadership, vulnerability, growing up in the Midwest, raising adult children, chasing purpose, and the pressure of being misunderstood in a small town.

With random Fishbowl questions guiding the conversation, Sandra and Carisa dive into entrepreneurship, community culture, high expectations, dinner-table nostalgia, rumors, relationships, and the emotional reality behind being “the strong one.” Equal parts hilarious, heartfelt, and unfiltered, this episode is a reminder that the people who seem fearless often carry the deepest stories.

In this episode of Fishbowl Roulette, local entertainer and creative force Joy Brooker joins the mic to share her unconventional journey—from singing telegrams and America's Got Talent moments to building a life fully rooted in creativity and self-expression.

But as the questions unfold, so do powerful conversations about identity, upbringing, and breaking free from restrictive environments. <itunes:summary>In this episode of Fishbowl Roulette, Sandra sits down with Shelby for a raw, unfiltered conversation pulled straight from the bowl—and real life.
From navigating an unconventional co-parenting dynamic to the emotional reality of working in the service industry, Shelby opens up about choosing what works over what’s expected. The conversation dives into modern relationships, political divides, tipping culture, and the constant search for identity and fulfillment in a world that pushes external validation.
It’s honest, a little chaotic, and deeply relatable—like listening in on two friends going wherever the conversation leads.
Because sometimes the best insights come when there’s no script—just real people, real stories, and a little bit of roulette. </itunes:summary>

From life as a mom of five girls (hint: calendars and having your own corner to retreat to is vital) to reimagining love, life after divorce, and some very real, raw financial truths—Chantelle works through the fishbowl and doesn’t hold back.

What starts with laughs and light conversation quickly turns into honest reflections on staying too long, starting over, and what it really means to feel alive in the second half of life. It’s unfiltered, relatable, and full of those “wow, I needed to hear that” moments.

At the heart of it all, this show is about one thing: connection. Real conversations. Real stories. Like you’re sitting in the room listening to two friends go wherever the conversation takes them.

Before the questions start coming out of the bowl, host Sandra takes a moment to introduce the idea behind the show and the kind of conversations you can expect around this table.

Fishbowl Roulette was created as a space for real, spontaneous dialogue—where curiosity matters more than being right, and connection matters more than winning an argument. In a world filled with noise, sound bites, and people talking past each other, this podcast is an invitation to slow down and explore the stories, perspectives, and experiences that shape who we are.

Each episode will feature guests pulling topics from a fishbowl—questions that could lead anywhere: deep reflections, uncomfortable truths, unexpected laughter, or meaningful insights. There are no scripts and no agendas, just honest conversations and the threads that connect our stories.
