What might you need to release in order to move faithfully into what God has for you next?

Letting go isn't always about leaving something bad behind. Sometimes we're releasing something that was very, very good—a home, a role, a job, a responsibility, a plan, or a season of life we deeply treasured.

In this episode, Cynthia shares what it meant to release Angelscape, her family home of thirty years: entrusting the transition to people God provided, letting go of treasured possessions, and ultimately placing the home itself—and its future—in God's hands.

Along the way, we explore an important truth: release doesn't diminish the value of what we're leaving. We can honor what was, carry forward what matters, and still open our hands to what God has next.

What We Talk About

Why knowing it's time to let go doesn't make releasing easy

The difference between releasing responsibility and releasing control

How receiving help can itself require surrender

Why memories don't disappear when possessions are released

How gratitude can change the way we experience letting go

Why a role, job, plan, or responsibility may have a season

The connection between open hands, trust, and moving forward

A Simple Invitation

Consider:

Am I thriving where I am in a way that serves me and those around me?

And if something may need to be released:

What am I afraid will happen if I let it go?

Release isn't about walking away simply because something is difficult. It's about discerning when a season has truly ended—and trusting God enough to follow Him faithfully into the new season He has for us and thrive there.

Scripture Reference

Ecclesiastes 3:1–8

Episode Description

What if the answer you’re waiting for has less to do with God being ready—and more to do with God preparing you to receive it?

In this episode, we explore learning to receive—and how seasons of waiting can prepare us practically, emotionally, and spiritually for what God wants to provide.

Cynthia shares the story of losing two homes she thought were right for her, recognizing that she wasn’t as ready as she believed, and finally reaching the point where she could say, “Okay...I’m ready now.”

Along the way, we look at Hannah’s story and the role surrender played in receiving what she had prayed for so long.

Sometimes a closed door isn’t a denial. Sometimes God is preparing the circumstances—and sometimes He is preparing us.

What We Talk About

Why waiting can be a season of preparation

What Hannah teaches us about surrender and receiving

How disappointment can reveal where we may not yet be ready

Why practical preparation matters

How releasing our preferred outcome opens us to God’s provision

What it means to finally say, “I’m ready now”

A Simple Invitation

Consider:

What might God be preparing in me during this waiting period?

And is there a step I can take today to become more ready to receive what comes next?

Scripture Reference

1 Samuel 1:10–11, 27–28

Episode Description

How do you recognize God’s presence when you’re still waiting for answers?

When we’re in the space between, it can be easy to focus on what we don’t know. We look for the big answer, the clear direction, or the unmistakable sign that tells us what comes next.

But often, God’s presence is revealed in quieter ways.

A conversation at just the right time. An unexpected provision. A door that closes—or one that opens. A person who comes alongside us. A moment of peace when circumstances have not changed.

In this episode, we talk about God’s fingerprints—the ways we can begin to recognize His presence and activity in our lives, especially during seasons of waiting and uncertainty.

Together, we consider what happens when we stop looking only for the destination and begin paying attention to the evidence of God’s faithfulness along the way.

Because even when we cannot yet see what God is doing, we can often look back and recognize where He has already been.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we explore:

What we mean when we talk about “God’s fingerprints”

Why God’s presence can be easier to recognize in hindsight

How ordinary moments can become evidence of His care and provision

Why closed doors can sometimes be as meaningful as open ones

The role other people can play in revealing God’s provision

How paying attention changes the way we experience seasons of waiting

Why remembering God’s past faithfulness helps us trust Him in the present

How recognizing His fingerprints can give us hope before we know what comes next

A Simple Invitation

As you listen, take a few moments to reflect:

Where have I seen God’s fingerprints in my life recently?

Is there something I once viewed as a disappointment that I now recognize differently?

What might I notice if I began looking for evidence of God’s presence rather than only looking for answers?

Sometimes we recognize God’s fingerprints immediately. Other times, we see them only when we look back.

Either way, remembering where God has been faithful helps us trust that He is still at work—even when the next chapter has not yet been revealed.

Scripture Reference

Psalm 77:11–12
Romans 8:28

About the Podcast

Engaged is a podcast about faith, work, and the life God invites us to live with confidence and purpose.

Through honest, grounded conversations, we explore how to:

Strengthen your faith

Navigate everyday life with greater alignment and awareness

Discern and live out your calling

Lead and live with intention

Next Steps

If this conversation resonated with you:

Follow the podcast so you don’t miss what’s ahead

Share this episode with someone who may need encouragement to recognize God’s presence in a season of uncertainty

This conversation is part of our It’s Over series, exploring endings, waiting, and learning to recognize God’s presence as He leads us toward what comes next.

What do you do when one chapter has ended—but you still can’t see what comes next?

There is a space between what was and what will be.

The old season is over. The familiar has changed. But the next chapter has not yet taken shape. We may know God is leading us forward while still having no clear picture of where He is taking us.

That space can feel uncomfortable. We want answers. We want direction. We want to know what we should be doing while we wait.

In this episode, we explore the space between—that uncertain season after an ending and before a new beginning becomes clear.

Together, we consider what it means to resist the urge to rush ahead, remain present in the waiting, and trust that God is at work even when we cannot yet see what He is doing.

Because the space between is not empty.

It can be a sacred place where God invites us to trust Him more deeply.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we explore:

What it feels like to live between an ending and a new beginning

Why uncertainty can make us want to rush toward the next thing

The temptation to fill the space rather than simply remain present in it

Why waiting does not mean that nothing is happening

How our desire for control can make uncertain seasons more difficult

What it means to trust God without knowing the outcome

How waiting can deepen our faith and dependence on God

Why the space between can become an important part of our preparation for what comes next

A Simple Invitation

As you listen, take a few moments to reflect:

Where am I experiencing a “space between” in my life right now?

Am I allowing myself to be present in this season, or am I trying to rush through it?

What would it look like to trust God even if I cannot yet see where He is leading me?

You do not have to fill every uncertain space with an answer or a plan.

Sometimes God invites us simply to remain close to Him, pay attention, and trust that He is working even when we cannot yet see the way forward.

Scripture Reference

Proverbs 3:5–6

Episode Description

What do you do when a chapter of your life is over—but part of you is still holding on?

Endings come in many forms. A career changes. A relationship shifts. A season of leadership ends. Children grow up. We move to a new place. Sometimes we choose the ending. Sometimes it is chosen for us.

And even when we know something is over, accepting that reality can be difficult.

In this episode, we begin our It’s Over series by exploring what it means to recognize when God has closed a chapter—and why accepting an ending is an important part of moving forward.

Together, we consider the difference between honoring what has been and trying to remain in a season that has already ended.

Because accepting that something is over does not mean it didn’t matter.

It means we trust God enough to release what was—and allow Him to lead us into what comes next.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we explore:

Why endings can be difficult even when we know they are necessary

The difference between recognizing an ending and accepting it

Why we sometimes hold on to seasons God is asking us to release

How grief and gratitude can exist together

Why accepting an ending does not diminish the value of what came before

What it means to trust God when a familiar chapter closes

How releasing the past creates space for what God may be preparing next

Why endings can become invitations to deeper faith and surrender

A Simple Invitation

As you listen, take a few moments to reflect:

Is there a chapter in my life that has ended, but I am still trying to hold on to it?

What am I afraid I might lose by accepting that it is over?

What would it look like to honor what has been while trusting God enough to release it?

You do not have to know what comes next in order to accept what has ended.

Sometimes the first act of faith is simply acknowledging: This chapter is over. God, I trust You with the next one.

Scripture Reference

Ecclesiastes 3:1–8
Isaiah 43:18–19

Are you intentionally shaping your life… or simply reacting to what’s in front of you?
There are seasons when life feels full. Responsibilities increase, demands compete for attention, and important people depend on us. We move quickly from one thing to the next—responding, managing, and trying to keep everything moving forward.
And over time, we can begin living reactively without even realizing it.
In this episode, we explore what it means to live intentionally—through integrity, wise stewardship of time, and the pursuit of joy.
Together, we consider how our values, priorities, energy, and choices shape the life we are building and the impact we are having on others.
Because intentional living is not about doing everything.
It’s about recognizing what matters most in this season—and choosing to live in alignment with it.
What We Talk About
In this conversation, we explore:

The difference between reacting to life and living intentionally
Why urgency and pressure often shape our decisions without us realizing it
What it means to embody integrity in thought, word, and action
How seasons of life influence priorities and responsibilities
Why time and energy are both valuable resources
The difference between what feels urgent and what is truly important
How intentional living helps create greater harmony and fulfillment
Why joy is an essential part of the life God designed for us

A Simple Invitation
As you listen, take a few moments to reflect:

Where in my life do I feel reactive rather than intentional?
What currently deserves my best energy and attention?
What would it look like to live more fully aligned with what matters most in this season?

You don’t have to do everything all at once.
Intentional living begins by recognizing what this season is asking of you—and responding with awareness and purpose.

Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 Psalms 15:1–2 Psalms 90:12 John 15:9–11

What happens when we begin carrying responsibility that was never truly ours?

Many people live with a growing sense of pressure, tension, and emotional weight—not simply because life is demanding, but because they have gradually taken ownership of things they were never meant to fulfill.

Other people’s expectations.
Other people’s choices.
Outcomes they cannot control.

And over time, that weight begins to affect peace, clarity, and direction.

In this episode, we explore the difference between healthy ownership and over-responsibility.

Together, we consider what it means to discern what is truly ours to step into… and what we need to release.

Because ownership is not the same as control.

And peace often begins when we stop carrying what was never ours in the first place.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we explore:

Why responsibility becomes heavy when it extends beyond what is truly ours

The difference between ownership and control

How expectations quietly shape the decisions we make

Why over-responsibility often disrupts peace

What it means to discern your true assignment and calling

How releasing what isn’t yours creates greater freedom and clarity

Why ownership requires both responsibility and trust

The connection between peace, alignment, and healthy boundaries

A Simple Invitation

As you listen, take a few moments to reflect:

What responsibility might I be carrying that was never truly mine?

Where have I confused ownership with control?

What would it look like to release what isn’t mine… while faithfully stepping into what is?

You don’t have to carry everything.

You are called to faithfully carry what is yours.

Why do we hesitate, even when we know what matters most?

There are moments in life when the next step feels clear. An opportunity appears, a decision needs to be made, or we sense we are being invited to move forward in a meaningful way.

And yet… something within us holds back.

Why does life slowly begin to feel out of alignment… even when we’re doing good things?
There are seasons when life feels grounded and purposeful. Our work feels meaningful, our relationships feel connected, and we move through life with a sense of direction.
But over time, something can begin to shift.
Not always through one major event, but through the gradual accumulation of responsibilities, expectations, opportunities, and commitments that quietly pull us away from center.
In this episode, we explore why life drifts out of balance and what it means to return to a place of greater harmony.
Together, we consider the difference between living from the outside in versus living from a grounded center rooted in God, purpose, and alignment.
We also explore why the idea of “work-life balance” often leaves us feeling frustrated—and why harmony offers a richer and more life-giving picture.
Because harmony is not about dividing everything equally.
It’s about living in alignment with what matters most in this season.
What We Talk About
In this conversation, we explore:

Why imbalance usually develops gradually over time
How responsibilities and expectations can quietly pull us away from center
What it means to live from the outside in
The emotional impact of losing alignment with what anchors us
Why “work-life balance” can feel limiting and unrealistic
The difference between balance and harmony
How harmony reflects alignment rather than equal distribution
Why love remains at the center of a meaningful life

A Simple Invitation
As you listen, take a few moments to reflect:

Where in my life do I sense drift or misalignment?
What currently feels out of harmony?
What helps me feel grounded, centered, and aligned with what matters most?

You don’t have to fix everything at once.
Sometimes the first step is simply becoming aware of what has slowly drifted over time.
Scripture Reference
Proverbs 3:6Proverbs 16:31 Corinthians 13

Who has God designed you to be?

At your core—before your roles, your experiences, or other's expectations took shape.

In this episode, we turn toward identity and begin to explore what it means to see yourself clearly—not through performance or past experiences, but through how God has uniquely designed you.

Together, we consider how your gifts, strengths, and passions are not random, but intentional expressions of your Divine Design.

And we begin to recognize that identity is not something we create… it’s something we discover.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we consider:

Why what comes naturally to us is often something we overlook

How recognizing patterns in our lives reveals how we are wired

The importance of anchoring our identity in truth rather than experience

A Simple Invitation

Who has God designed you to be?
At your core—before your roles, your experiences, or other's expectations took shape.
In this episode, we turn toward identity and begin to explore what it means to see yourself clearly—not through performance or past experiences, but through how God has uniquely designed you.
Together, we consider how your gifts, strengths, and passions are not random, but intentional expressions of your Divine Design.
And we begin to recognize that identity is not something we create… it’s something we discover.
What We Talk About
In this conversation, we consider:

The difference between identity and the roles we carry in life
Why we often define ourselves by what we do rather than who we are
How God’s design is reflected in our gifts, strengths, and passions
Why what comes naturally to us is often something we overlook
How recognizing patterns in our lives reveals how we are wired
The importance of anchoring our identity in truth rather than experience

A Simple Invitation
As you listen, take a few moments to reflect:

What comes naturally to me that I may have overlooked or taken for granted?
What energizes me and feels aligned with who I am?
Where do I see consistent patterns in how I think, lead, or relate to others?

Sometimes the clearest understanding of who we are is found in what has been there all along.

Genesis 1:27Psalm 139:13-16Ephesians 2:10

What are you carrying that no longer belongs?

Not just the experiences themselves… but the weight, the conclusions, and the emotions that may have stayed with you over time.

In this episode, we explore what it means to release what we are carrying—especially the things that have shaped how we see ourselves, others, and our lives.

Together, we consider how letting go is not about dismissing what happened, but about choosing what we continue to carry forward.

And we begin to recognize that release is not loss… it’s freedom.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we consider:

How life experiences can leave behind emotional and mental weight

The difference between honoring our story and holding onto what no longer serves us

Why forgiveness is often a key part of release

How unprocessed disappointment, hurt, or unmet expectations can shape our perspective

The role of faith in releasing what we cannot resolve on our own

How letting go creates space for clarity, healing, and alignment

A Simple Invitation

As you listen, take a few moments to reflect:

What am I carrying that no longer belongs in this season of my life?

Is there something I am ready to release—whether it’s a belief, a disappointment, or a past experience?

What might it look like to trust God with what I’ve been holding onto?

What has shaped your story?

Not just the obvious moments…
but the experiences, conversations, and seasons that have left an imprint on how you see yourself and your life.

In this episode, we begin a new series drawn from themes explored in The Authentic You—starting with your story.

Together, we reflect on how both the visible and quieter moments of life shape us, and how becoming aware of those moments is the first step toward clarity and alignment.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we consider:

How our story influences our perspective, identity, and decisions

The importance of becoming aware of what has shaped us

How God is present in every season of our lives

A Simple Invitation

As you listen, take a few quiet moments to reflect:

What moments have shaped your story?

What experiences have stayed with you?

And how might those moments still be influencing how you see yourself today?

Awareness is the beginning of clarity.
And clarity creates the opportunity for alignment.

What has shaped your story?
Not just the obvious moments… but the experiences, conversations, and seasons that have left an imprint on how you see yourself and your life.

How life experiences—both big and small—shape how we see ourselves
The difference between what happens to us and what we take from it
Why defining moments often include both milestones and unexpected challenges
How our story influences our perspective, identity, and decisions
The importance of becoming aware of what has shaped us
How God is present in every season of our lives

A Simple Invitation
As you listen, take a few quiet moments to reflect:

What moments have shaped your story?
What experiences have stayed with you?
And how might those moments still be influencing how you see yourself today?

Awareness is the beginning of clarity. And clarity creates the opportunity for alignment.

Psalm 139:13–16 Romans 8:28

For many people, faith feels personal.

Something we experience in church…
in prayer…
or in quiet moments with God.

But then Monday morning arrives.
And life shifts into a different space—work to do, responsibilities to carry, decisions to make.

So an important question begins to emerge.

What does our faith have to do with our work?

In this episode, we explore how faith and work were never meant to be separate—and how the way we serve, influence, and lead can become one of the most meaningful expressions of our faith.

Together, we reflect on what it means to lead with a heart of service, and how everyday moments of influence can become opportunities to live out God’s truth with integrity, wisdom, and compassion.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we consider:

Why faith is not meant to be separate from your work

How your work becomes a place where your character and values are formed

What it means to see leadership as stewardship

How Jesus redefines leadership through service (Mark 10:45)

Why leadership is expressed through everyday influence—not just titles

How small, daily decisions reveal what is shaping your life

A Simple Invitation

how you show up,
how you respond,

There are seasons in life when the outward responsibilities feel overwhelming.

Work.
Family.
LIfe-changing decisions.

And in those moments, we often focus on what needs to be done.

But what sustains our calling is not just the decisions we make or what we do.
It is the strength of our inner life with God.

In this episode, we explore why the inner life matters, and how cultivating a deeper connection with God provides the strength, wisdom, and peace we need to faithfully navigate every season of life.

Together, we reflect on the sacred rhythms that ground us, the renewing of the mind, and the quiet ways God meets us in both the ordinary and the difficult seasons of life.

What We Talk About

In this conversation, we consider:

Why the inner life is essential to sustaining your calling

How outward demands can quietly pull us away from being rooted in God

The role of sacred rhythms like prayer, Scripture, and reflection

How God meets us in seasons of grief, uncertainty, and transition

What it means to renew your mind (Romans 12:2)

How peace and perspective grow when we remain connected to God

A Simple Invitation

As you listen, ask yourself:

What practices help you stay spiritually grounded—
in tune with the heart of Christ?

And where might God be inviting you
to cultivate deeper rhythms of connection with Him?

You don’t have to do everything at once.

Sometimes it begins with something simple.
A few quiet moments.
A willingness to return your attention to God.

There are seasons in life when the outward responsibilities feel overwhelming.
Work. Family.LIfe-changing decisions.

What practices help you stay spiritually grounded— in tune with the heart of Christ?
And where might God be inviting you to cultivate deeper rhythms of connection with Him?

You don’t have to do everything at once.
Sometimes it begins with something simple. A few quiet moments. A willingness to return your attention to God.

In this opening episode of Engaged, Cynthia Stewart and Christel Horton invite you into a different kind of conversation—one that brings your faith into your everyday life and helps you recognize the calling God has already placed within you.
This is more than a podcast. It is an invitation to live with clarity, purpose, and quiet confidence in Christ.
What We Talk About
In this episode, we explore:

Why conversations matter more than we often realize
What it means to be engaged in your faith—not just informed
The connection between faith, everyday life, and calling
How God often works through simple, meaningful conversations
What you can expect as we begin this journey together

A Simple Invitation
As you listen, consider:
Where might God be inviting you to become more engaged?
Not striving. Not performing. But present… aware… and aligned with Him.

Mark 10:45
