Sometimes the wilderness doesn’t look dramatic…
sometimes it looks like exhaustion.

In this episode of Wilderness Walks, Kristi shares a personal and honest conversation about emotional exhaustion, loneliness, carrying hidden burdens, and the importance of rest and connection.

Through Scripture, personal reflection, and a meaningful night at a Jordan Feliz concert, this episode explores how God often refreshes us in unexpected ways — through safe friendships, laughter, worship, conversation, and moments that allow our soul to finally breathe again.

Kristi also reflects on how many women quietly carry more than people realize, and why creating intentional spaces to “pour it out” may matter more than we think.

If you’ve been feeling weary, stretched thin, emotionally drained, or spiritually tired in this season, this episode is a reminder that even Jesus stepped away to rest — and maybe you need permission to believe that rest is spiritual too.

Scriptures referenced:
• 1 Kings 19
• Isaiah 40:31

The moment when you react… when you fall back into something… or even when you finally respond differently.

There’s still something that follows:
guilt, frustration, growth, or even grace.

Because progress isn’t perfection.

It’s coming back.
It’s recognizing it sooner.
It’s choosing differently over time.

In this episode of the Wilderness Walks series, Kristi shares honest and deeply personal reflections about walking through seasons of uncertainty and learning to trust God when the future feels unclear.

Life does not always unfold the way we expect.
Sometimes we pray for direction and only see fog.
Sometimes we carry visions that feel delayed.
Sometimes we watch the people we love struggle and wonder how the story will end.

Through real-life stories of parenting through difficult seasons, holding onto a calling that feels like it has been placed on pause, and facing fear surrounding family health and the unknown future, this episode reminds listeners that uncertainty does not mean God is absent.

Faith is not always about having answers.
Sometimes it is about continuing to walk even when you cannot yet see the path.

If you are in a season of waiting, searching for clarity, or trying to trust God one step at a time, this conversation will encourage your heart and help you keep moving forward with hope.

Deep roots are often formed in hidden places.
And even in the wilderness, God is still writing your story.

From sickness moving through her home, to time spent in hospital rooms with her mother, to the emotional weight of daily responsibilities that don’t slow down — this conversation is for anyone who feels stretched thin and exhausted but is still trying to hold on to faith.

Through personal stories, biblical encouragement, and gentle reflection, this episode explores what it looks like to keep walking with God when life feels heavy and uncertain. You’ll be reminded that overwhelm is not a sign you are failing — it may be an invitation to depend more deeply on the One who sees the storm and already knows the shore.

If you have been trying to stay strong for everyone around you…
If your prayers have felt simple and weary…
If you are walking through a season that feels heavier than you expected…

This episode will help you breathe, steady your heart, and take the next faithful step forward.

Not distant.
Not angry.
Just… silent.

In Episode 2 of Wilderness Walks, Kristi Cain shares deeply personal seasons of waiting, unanswered prayers, marriage heartbreak, parenting through hard choices, and the space between prayer and provision.

Through Scripture and raw honesty, she explores what it means to trust God when you can’t feel Him moving — and why silence does not mean absence.

If you’re in a season where heaven feels still…
If you’re praying and hearing nothing back…
If you’re wondering whether the quiet means something is wrong…

This episode will remind you:

🌾 Delay is not denial.
🌾 Silence is not abandonment.

Even in the quiet — God is near.

🌾 Deep roots grow in hidden places.

Even in the quiet — God is near.

Recorded in the middle of a difficult week marked by illness, uncertainty, and exhaustion, this episode reflects on how God meets us in seasons that feel dry, heavy, or silent.

Wilderness seasons rarely arrive when life is calm or convenient. They come when we’re tired, grieving, stretched thin, and unsure of what comes next. And yet, those are often the very places where God does His deepest work.

In Finding God in the Wilderness, we explore what it looks like to keep showing up, to trust God without clarity, and to recognize His presence even when the path feels unclear.

Christmas is more than a manger scene and a pile of presents. In this special episode, Kristi Cain invites you to slow down and rediscover the heart of Christmas—why Jesus came, what it means that God drew near, and how our everyday traditions can either point us to Him or quietly pull us away.

Kristi shares a tender conversation with her kids about the Christmas tree—how the wood reminds her of the cross, the triangle points to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the star echoes Bethlehem, the lights reflect Jesus as the Light of the world, and the ornaments remind us of the gifts brought to Jesus. She also talks about her children’s favorite tradition: baking a birthday cake for Jesus and singing to Him as the true guest of honor.

From there, she opens up honestly about Santa, trust, and why her family chose to step away from the Santa story. She wrestles with questions like: What happens when kids discover Santa isn’t real? Does it affect how they trust what we say about a God they cannot see?

Kristi also gently highlights how “Santa gifts” and overspending can unintentionally leave some children feeling less loved or forgotten—and why she wants Christ, not comparison, to be at the center of her home.

If your Christmas has started to feel commercialized, complicated, or heavy, this conversation will help you:

Refocus your heart and home on Jesus

Think through Santa and traditions with honesty and grace

Release the pressure to overspend or “keep up”

Embrace simple, meaningful ways to point your family back to Christ

Grab a quiet moment, a warm drink, and let this episode remind you that Christmas is for the weary, the imperfect, and the searching—because Jesus came close to us.

In Episode 9 of Deeply Rooted: The Journey to Serve, Kristi Cain shares one of the most vulnerable chapters of her journey - the season when the calling still exists, but the opportunities, community, and clarity disappear.

After years of active mission work and service, life took a shift. A move to Arkansas, the loss of spiritual community, raising children through heartbreak, and years of silence left Kristi questioning whether she had failed God.

This episode is for anyone who has felt spiritually disconnected, discouraged, or alone. Through scripture, reflection, and personal testimony, Kristi reminds us that quiet seasons are not punishment - they are preparation.

What began as a quiet nudge from God turned into a bold step of obedience straight into the center of loss, heartbreak, and holy ground.

In this powerful and deeply personal episode, Kristi Cain shares a heartfelt reflection on the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk — a man whose courage and conviction left a lasting mark on the world. His boldness to stand for truth, his unshakable faith, and his willingness to speak out in love are reminders of what it means to live fully rooted in God’s Word, even in a culture that often resists it.

Through this message, Kristi invites listeners to rise up and embrace their own call to boldness. She shares how Charlie’s life mirrored the strength of those in scripture who stood firm in faith despite persecution — from Daniel in the lion’s den, to Esther before the king, to Peter and John who declared, “We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:20)

This is not a political conversation — it’s a spiritual awakening. A reminder that being “bold” in today’s world doesn’t mean being harsh or proud, but being steadfast, humble, and fearless in truth and love. It’s about standing for what’s right, even when it’s unpopular. It’s about speaking life when others choose silence. It’s about letting the light of Christ shine through your words, your witness, and your walk.

Kristi also speaks directly to those who may be hurting, angry, or confused in the wake of tragedy. She reminds us that God can take even the deepest sorrow and turn it into revival — that what the enemy meant for harm, God can use for awakening. Just as Charlie’s life sparked a movement of courage and conviction, his legacy continues to inspire hearts to rise up, speak truth, and live out their purpose without fear.

As the episode moves into prayer, Kristi leads listeners in a moment of reflection — to lay down fear, doubt, and hesitation, and to take up the armor of faith. Together, she invites the audience to pray for a generation of believers who will stand boldly for Christ, rooted in love, compassion, and unwavering truth.

Let this message be a call to your spirit — to stand when the world bows, to speak when silence seems safer, and to love when hate tries to divide.
Because revival begins with courage.
And courage begins with you.

Welcome to the Deeply Rooted Podcast! I'm your host, Kristi Cain, and I am honored that you've pressed play on this very first episode. This podcast has been on my heart for a long time, and today I finally get to share it with you. My prayer is that this space becomes a place where you can grow strong roots in God's Word, find encouragement for your journey, and discover wild growth through healing, hardship, and hope.

In this introduction episode, I share a little bit about who I am and how God led me here. I'm a wife and a mom to eight children -- seven biologically mine, and one bonus blessing through my marriage. With my husband now, God surprised us with two sets of twins born just eleven months apart -- yes, back-to-back twins! Life in our house is often full, loud, and chaotic, but it's also a daily reminder of God's faithfulness and joy. My children inspire me to live out my faith in real and practical ways, and you'll likely hear their stories woven into future episodes.

This podcast was born out of prayer and obedience. God called me to step out in faith and begin sharing His love through this platform, even though fear told me I wasn't equipped. I don't come here as someone with all the answers -- I come as someone who is in the middle of balancing family, school, work, and ministry, trusting God to use my willingness more than my perfection.

Through Deeply Rooted, you can expect honest conversations about faith, healing, and the struggles we all face. We'll talk about topics like grief, mental health, bullying, and revival, but always with hope at the center. I'll share personal testimonies, biblical encouragement, and special series that explore living more like Jesus -- from healing through God's creation with plant medicine to nourishing our bodies with foods like they ate in the Bible days.

This is just the beginning, and I'm so glad you're here for it. Subscribe now so you don't miss upcoming episodes, including A Call to Boldness, where we'll dive deeper into what it means to stand firm in faith in today's world. And if this episode encourages you, I'd love for you to share it with a friend who might need it too. Together, we can grow deeply rooted in God's love and see His hope come alive in our lives.
