In 1903 in Lake Charles, LA, Bro. Rudolph Esclavon heard the sanctified people preaching on the street corner. Out of curiosity he stopped to hear what they had to say. He realized his lost condition when they preached that without holiness, “no man shall see the Lord”.  He then gave his all to Jesus and enlisted in the fight.

On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was made available to the Gentiles and about 3,000 souls were sanctified. Brother Harry preaches in Campmeeting 1986 that just like those souls, the true Jews are now those that have received the gift of the Holy Spirit and have been sanctified. The true Jew is now inwardly, with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

He, along with his brothers, Frank and John, left home and traveled the breadth of the United States preaching the gospel of entire Sanctification. At the 1952 Camp Meeting, in his waning years, Bro. Ed was selected to preach; “I’m Jealous over you with a Godly Jealousy” would be his last public recorded sermon. Along with experiencing a taste of CSHC history, you will be encouraged, challenged, and inspired as Bro. Ed Miller gives one last exhortation to the church he loves, leaving his hearers something of his passion for preaching the gospel as he reflects on scripture, history, and “practical religion”.

He uses Hebrews 11 to highlight God’s plan to redeem mankind. Referencing Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, the Passover, deliverance from Egypt, Caleb and Joshua, the walls of Jericho, Rahab, and Daniel and finally the birth of Jesus, he makes the case that God can deliver from sin in every circumstance of life.

Jessie was born in 1892 and was blessed to live another 24 years after this sermon to reach the age of 102.

Tuesday night of Camp meeting 1975 Bro. Paul Merritt Sr. explains the Spirit would have to do the preaching. From the 2nd chapter of 1st Corinthians he explains the demonstration of the Spirit and of power to deliver freedom from the law of sin and death. The revelation of the mystery of the Spirit of Christ in you is the hope of glory. Sharing his love of church on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, while drawing on 71 years of experience, he explains that anything that causes us to leave the Lord out of our life for any period of time is harm. Nobody has ever pleased God with a sacrifice unless it was dear to them. Bro. Paul shares one of the many songs he wrote, and enjoys Sis. Joy Melton’s help leading another song: “There is a River”.

At the 1975 Camp Meeting, Bro. Horace Curry Sr. preached a sermon on the road of holiness vs. the road of sin and gave a tremendous call to sinners to make a start for God before it was too late. On a personal note, my parents have often told me of what a loving, caring soul Bro Horace was, and that he visited their apartment just after I was born and prayed a “beautiful prayer” over me. He died not long after. I often wonder what he prayed for that day and have often desired that I could have known him. Recordings like these help me to feel connected to old saints like Bro Horace to whom we owe so much. I hope you enjoy this recording as much as I have.

Several months after Bro. Josh Tarr’s passing, Sis Estelle Tarr in Camp Meeting 1975 celebrates our robe of rightness, the old rugged cross and the man that bore it to Calvary that you and I can be sanctified. She recommends the joy that comes with salvation! A little of the world and we’ll lose the sweetness of the Spirit, but strive to enter in at the straight gate. The Lord can congeal the waters blocking serving the Lord and lead across on dry land like he did the children of Israel. There remains a rest to the people of God!

This sermon was delivered some 50 years ago, but the power and spirit of the message are real today.  If you are like me and did not have the privilege of knowing this vessel personally, I encourage you to listen to this sermon.  The gospel we believe and preach, the life of Jesus that we know in our hearts; it was as real then as it is now, and this thought gives me hope.  These are strange and turbulent times, but the comfort of the Holy Ghost and the saving power of the living Jesus are neither strange nor turbulent.  The rock we stand on is Jesus!

When do we experience "passed from death unto life?" When does "this mortal put on immortality?"  Bro Harry Collins, Jr tackles these questions through the words of Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and the Apostle John. Bottom line: we need to make certain we are holy today if we want to make it to the city of God.

The words "lively" and "spirit-filled" seem inadequate to describing the powerful rush of the Holy Spirit felt in this sermon, preached over 50 years ago in the 1956 Camp Meeting. Bro. Harry Collins kept himself to the Chincoteague standard with this sermon clocking in at 15 minutes, 32 seconds. I pray that God will bless, encourage, and provoke you with this sermon.

On Sunday night of Camp Meeting 1960, Bro. B.A. Hobby began his sermon "Don't Pamper The Old Man" reading from Ephesians 4 which states "That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."

Bro. B.A. goes on to enumerate the ways the old man, which is the sin nature, holds back the sinner and trips-up the converted man or woman.

He concludes by emphasizing the biblical truth that the old man must be destroyed and we must put on the new man (new nature) through sanctification (the second work of grace) to make it to heaven.
