The murder victim has finally revealed, and we can finally all stop speculating about who's going to croak - and move on to who actually dunnit. Corrie's already revealed their suspect lineup, and this week, we get to see how they act in the immediate aftermath of Theo's body being found. In the case of George, Todd and Christina, we can all agree that they very likely had nothing to do with it, and although there's definitely still something Gary's keeping quiet about, we can't imagine it was him either. There's also the question that none of the other characters are asking yet (since they don't know she was there) - what went down between Summer and Theo in the moments before he was bashed on the bonce, and why hasn't she told anyone she was in the flat with him? Despite all this, our prime suspect is still Miles - or at a push, his mum Danielle. Let's see how the coming weeks unfold and maybe our minds will be changed, eh?

Just a tiny Kabin segment this week as we get very excited about the news that Julie Hesmondhalgh will be taking part in the next series of Celebrity Traitors, and we round off the show by hearing about more of your thoughts and theories on Murder Week in the feedback section.

Well there we go, then! After months of speculation, it's finally been revealed that the body Betsy found after her mum's wedding belonged to none other than the scummy, scheming scaffolder himself, Theo! At last, we no longer have to keep the victim's identity a secret, and not only can we chat about what we think about it being him (and not Megan, as we'd previously been so certain about!), we can also share a few more details about what it was like watching snippets of this week's episodes at last month's press day. We absolutely loved Corrie this week, from the unexpected twists to the single thread episode format - and we didn't even mind the more filming look or soundtrack in places either! (Not only that, but Michael even has something that could be construed as complimentary about the fireworks on Tuesday's episode too!) An absolute banger of a week, and we had so much fun talking about it, the Street Talk segment itself managed to last nearly four hours.. 

Needless to say, we didn't really have the energy for anything else after this, especially as there was so much listener feedback to get through, but worry ye not - a feedback focused extra podcast will be recorded in the next couple of days, so do be sure to send in your thoughts! 

As with last week, these interviews are all available to listen to on our YouTube channel, and a number of them are quite visual in parts, so we'd definitely recommend that option if you're mulling over which one to go with. The date every Corrie fan has been waiting for over the past couple of months has finally arrived - and whether you were tuning in for marriage or murder, anticipation was high ahead of Thursday’s trip to Weatherfield. Of course, viewers remain just as much in the dark about who meets their maker, but with a couple of new suspects emerging this week - along with even more motives - there’s still plenty to theorise about. As for the wedding, this was our second viewing after being lucky enough to catch a sneak preview at the Corrie press day, and our opinions on the episode did actually change on a repeat viewing - for the better, we might add! It's a jam packed Street Talk this week, and we can't wait to find out what happens next!

In The Kabin, we find out how the Corrie alumni fared in the I'm A Celebrity final and find out what new additions have been made to the Coronation Street Experience exhibit this weekend,  then we finish things off with more of your lovely feedback.

Although on the whole we felt like this was another good week Corrie, it still demonstrated to us the very highs and very lows of what the show can deliver nowadays. On the one hand, you have an embarrassing 'fire' at Roy's Rolls that was achieved with not even a flicker of a flame and just a load of very CGI-looking smoke; on the other, you have Wednesday's exemplary single thread episode that followed Todd and his friends as he finally broke free of Theo's control and  went to the police after another terrible beating. Props to everyone involved there, and we really do hope that the smiling Todd we enjoyed at the end of the week is the one we'll be seeing a lot more of in the coming weeks and months - he deserves it! Also this week, Carl discovers another potential source of cash, Jodie puts her stolen warrant card to use and Ben continues to be at loggerheads with Maggie.

In the Kabin, we take a look abut how some ex-Corrie cast have been getting on in I'm A Celeb, and we round off the show with a bumper crop of your fantastic feedback.

There’s a huge Easter bombshell for Steve and Ben this week as Maggie drops the news that they’re half-brothers. Both men are left reeling, but it’s Ben who’s hit hardest, immediately fearing what it could mean for his own health - has he inherited his newly discovered da’s condition? In fact, medical drama is everywhere you look this week (though, refreshingly for Corrie, not a hospital scene in sight!). Sam appears to be in the grip of a serious mental health crisis whilst Debbie undergoes an MRI scan that confirms her dementia is worsening. Elsewhere, klepto Jodie adds yet another item to her growing stash, Tim decides it’s time to confront Tricia, and Theo walks in on Todd and Sarah together at the flat - but what fallout lies ahead for poor Todd?

Another slow news week this week, but still plenty of feedback, so we round off the episode with another rummage through the virtual mailbag!

With no Friday Corrie this week, we're coming at you early with this episode of the podcast, covering the 23rd to the 26th March trips to Weatherfield (Episodes #11,819 - 11,822).

After last week's heavy Driscoll focus, this week's action mainly favoured the Theo and Todd story, and whilst many viewers may well have forgotten that their wedding had been planned for this week, Theo clearly hadn't, and managed to weedle his was back into Todd's affections just in time. And what a peculiar wedding it was! On the one hand, you've got Corrie making out that this is a serious story about coercive control and abusive relationships; on the other, you've got comedy incompetent registrar and Gary and Maria obliviously cheering on from the sidelines despite major red flags? We certainly had a lot to unpack here! Also on the cobbles this week, a paranoid Sam chucks away his mobile phone, Mal makes an indecent proposal to Bernie, and Carla and Lisa struggle with babysitting duties for Connie.

Like many Corrie fans, we were pretty sceptical of the grooming plot line when it first kicked off last November - did the new family at the helm of the Rovers really need something as grubby and controversial as this as their establishing story? This week, however, when Sam finally confessed his suspicions, when Daniel discovered that Megan was pregnant - and likely with Will's baby - and when the Battersby sisters and the Driscolls united  to bring her down... quite frankly, we were gripped from start to finish! Not that it's finished yet, of course - April 23rd is still over a month away... Elsewhere on the Street, Mal finally woke up and definitely seemed like he knew more than he was letting on to Kit about his attack, Adam's refusal to drop Jackie as a client led to the company's emails being leaked, and Theo continued to try and worm his way back into Todd's life - could next week's planned wedding still go ahead?

Elsewhere on the street, Theo called time on his relationship with Todd - but do any of us really expect it to last? Also this week, tensions between Sam and Megan ramp up, Amy has a disastrous date with Ollie, and there's much ado about a doo-doo when Jodie engages in foul play with Adam.

This week saw the much anticipated flash-forward episode of Corrie, which gave us a sneak peek into the future and Betsy's discovery of a dead body. Also this week, Theo returns from his mum's, Mal proves himself to a a definite stalkery weirdo, and Debbie is assigned a prison buddy - and it's  someone we were very happy to see again!

As much as we wanted to carry on with the podcast after this and discuss the cancellation of the BSAs, unfortunately Michael wasn't feeling too well at all, so we called it a day after Street Talk - so you'll just have to wait a little longer to hear our thoughts on the British Soap Awards' cancellation!

Thanks to a couple of sporting events on Tuesday and Thursday, this week's helping of Coronation Street was almost as short as Kevin's temper. However, with Wednesday's Webster-focused episode featuring the big reveal to Carl that Debbie is actually his mum, there was still plenty for us to discuss! The pair of us actually had quite different opinions on that episode too, so it was pretty fun debating what did and didn't work for us! Also this week, a rooftop intervention from Abi leaves Kevin with new perspective on life (and Brian with a sore head!), Todd struggles to cope with no food and no money, and Jodie intrigues us with a mysterious box of trinkets...

Definitely a bit of a divisive week, this one, with opinions all over the place online about Billy's funeral and Bernie's subsequent getting off her cake, as she put it. Even the pair of us felt quite differently to each other about how Wednesday's episode went down, with Gemma praising the writing and direction whilst Michael didn't think it quite did enough to honour Billy's time in the show amongst the Carl vs Theo drama. Speaking of which, we chat for quite a bit this week about who we'd prefer to ultimately see come on top there, and how much Theo is actually in control of what he's doing. One thing we both agreed on, though - which seemingly a  sizeable chunk of Corrie fans online disagreed with - was that Thursday's Bernie-centric saga was fantastic, plus we were both very chuffed to see Sam back on centre stage on Monday's episode - and think that Megan will prove to be quite a force for him to reckon with!

We already gave our immediate reaction to Corriedale earlier this week, but what did we make of the episode  leading up to it, and did the quality continue for the rest of the week as Corrie switched to a daily, half hour format? We're only days away from the big Corriedale crossover now, and this week's trip to Weatherfield saw some of the biggest stories of the year getting all their ducks in a row before whatever fate may befall them on Monday night. Abi's rumbled Carl's plan to do a midnight flit to Dusseldorf while Kev's discovered his involvement in Tyrone's accident, Billy's seen footage showing the full extent of Theo's abuse towards Todd, and the Swains are - finally - set to jet off to Spain - but what has Becky done to Carla? We had an awful lot to chat about all this in the podcast, and a lot to say about how much we adored Debbie's wedding too - what a start to 2026!

Unfortunately, Gemma was feeling very under the weather during the recording, so as soon as Street Talk was over, we decided to call it a day there, but there's still plenty of episode before that for you to enjoy!

Christmas time is here, and you know what? This year saw the showrunners putting most of their rotten eggs in the Driscolls' basket, with a family meal for the Street's newest residents turning pungent thanks to the mean-spirited machinations of manipulative Maggie. Meanwhile, Carla's having a pretty rubbish Christmas too after being kidnapped by Becky, who takes the opportunity to seduce Lisa into bed in her partner's absence - is it all over for Swarla? Also this week, Abi makes a shocking discovery about Carl and James, Sally gives Joanine and Shanice a Christmas Eve to remember and the Platts get a festive message from Gail.

Unsurprisingly, there's not really been anything worth reporting on in terms of Corrie news this week, but we've still had plenty of feedback from listeners, so we round off the podcast with that.

This week, we were treated to another Kate Brooks patented 'event episode' of Corrie, with all the funny camera effects and timey-wimey shenanigans that they so often entail. This time, it's David and Shona who were under the spotlight, with a half-episode that told the story of their tragic trip to the hospital told directly through the characters' eyes - internal commentary and all. We've seen mixed opinions on this since it aired, and had plenty to say about the format ourselves! Another focus this week was Will's story - when we said that we wanted the Rovers at the heart of Corrie, was a teenage grooming story the sort of thing we were asking for? Not at all, but are we enjoying it nonetheless? Also this week, Fizz bubbles over at work after struggling to run the household with minimal support from wheelchair-bound Tyrone, Kevin nearly loses his car in a game of poker and Joni returns to the Metcalfe household - though Tim seems far more occupied with what's going on on Tricia's Insta...

Not a whole lot in the way of news to discuss this week - although we do make the time to offer a somewhat cynical look at this week's Corriedale viewer vote - and we round off the show with more of your listener feedback.

With the grown-up Driscolls' feet already very much under the (incredibly large) Rovers backroom table, this week's trip to Weatherfield saw the arrival of the final member of the clan: runaway son Will, whose disappearance at the start of the week was very much the talk of the pub - but did Corrie do enough to keep viewers who'd never even met the kid before engaged? Meanwhile, Becky continues to refuse to take no for an answer, stepping up her game in her attempts to lure Becky and Lisa back to Spain with her, plus a shady conversation with Costello gives sheds a  bit more light on the circumstances surrounding Tia Wardley's demise. Also this week, the identity of Hope's troll is revealed, Carl continues to gaslight Debbie, and Cassie and Tracy are still at each other's throats - is this still entertaining, or is it getting a bit tired by this point?

After Street Talk, the Kabin segment sees us bumbling through our initial reactions to the news that ITV is potentially going to be bought out by Sky - a topic that we admittedly don't have the best understanding of, but we do our best to explain the situation and correct a few misconceptions! That's followed by the feedback segment, where we read more of your initial views of the street's latest family.

Elsewhere, Abi is tempted to steal a car help out her and Carl's financial woes, the Winter-Alahan family self-destructs in the wake of Asha's attempt to take her own life, and things get passionate between Christina and George - despite his failure to get a Stiffy!

In The Kabin segment, we chat about the latest additions to William Roache and Barbara Knox's mantlepieces as they both receive lifetime achievement awards, and we we finish off the podcast with a crop of lovely listener feedback.

In what turned out to be a rather mixed week on the cobbles, some storylines failed to hit the mark while others had us completely gripped – most notably the escalating game of cat and mouse between Theo and Todd. We were stunned when Theo brazenly admitted to Todd that he’d been unfaithful, blaming Todd’s supposed closeness with Billy, and we loved seeing Todd finally stand up for himself – especially with his not-so-subtle flaunting of his ex during the Rovers’ Mr and Mrs contest. However, as we all know, this abusive relationship is far from its conclusion... Elsewhere on the Street, we saw poor Tyrone struggling to adjust to life in a wheelchair amidst constant bickering from his family, while Asha’s return from hospital showed she is clearly still suffering too. Meanwhile, Becky wasted no time in making herself at home at Number 6 while Carla was away, Carl pushed Abi to take Kevin to the cleaners in their divorce, and Hope found herself the target of some malicious text messages – but who could be behind them?

A brand new story kicked off this week with Tim at the centre, as he bumped into a familiar face from the past. But when Brian discovers just how close the pair once were, and how young Tim was at the time, he’s left questioning some uncomfortable truths about their relationship. Elsewhere, Ronnie’s birthday celebrations take a dramatic turn when the truth about Abi and Carl’s affair comes out, leaving the Webster family in tatters. Also this week, Theo continues his manipulation of Todd Asha's found unconscious with an empty bottle of pills, and George and Christina go out on their first date.

Not a lot of news this week (plus we're absolutely knackered when recording after a busy day behind the scenes at Corrie - more on that very soon!) so we give The Kabin a swerve and round the show off with a bit of feedback.

She’s been a firm favourite of the podcast since her 2014 return, but this week we bid a fond farewell to Jenny, who jetted off from Weatherfield to start a new life in Tenerife. After the shocking revelation that Becky Swain was in fact alive last week, this week's Corrie had a lot to live up to. Would enough questions about the past four years be suitably answered? All in all, a pretty good set of episodes for Corrie this week, with some lovely, sweet scenes in the Swarla story as we finally get that proposal that we've been building up to for weeks. And so close to getting some solid answers to the Becky Swain mystery too - although not only are we leaning a lot more to the side of 'she's still alive' now, we've got a feeling that Roy might have even bumped into her in the hospital... Also this week, Theo takes out his anger on Todd after a tough mediation session with Danielle and Noah - but is there really any excusing his behaviour? Elsewhere on the cobbles, Debbie attempts a coup on the dementia choir, Carl enlists Brody and Dylan for a spot of car thievery and Christina opens up to George about how much she's struggling since Dom's death - but is it all just an act?

Sorry, we couldn't help it - this episode does get somewhat ranty towards the beginning thanks to Corrie's insane decision to publish spoilers about the massive twist in Friday's episode first thing in the morning, thus ruining the surprise for anyone foolish enough to scroll social media rather whilst munching on their Weetabix rather than switching straight to ITVX. And it was a great twist too! Definitely something that we're interested in seeing the fallout from at Number 13... Anyway, that wasn't even the main focus of the week - that particular spotlight, of course, falls on Asha, who had a bit of a mare of a day to flash back to on Monday, and on the same week that we're saying goodbye to the lovely Aadi, too! Also this week, Theo ramps up his control of Todd when he bans him from seeing Billy, whilst over at the Rovers - praise be! - Christina's back in town, and Jenny's feeling more than a little suspicious of her motives...

There was definitely something in the Weatherfield water this week as everyone seemed to be more than a little bit randy! From Steve and Cassie (and an unwilling third party teddy bear) cavorting in the living room of Number 9 to Sarah-Louise using her best seduction techniques on Underworld's latest client, the cobbles were practically steaming - and as for Abi and Carl's saucy antics.. well we can definitely say we were pleased to see Tracy pouring a bucket of cold water over that on Friday! Also this week, we had Aadi deciding that a trip to India maybe isn't  such a bad idea after all, romance between Dee-Dee and Olly, and an some intriguing comments from Costello that had us theorising all sorts about the circumstances surrounding Becky's death...

This week’s trip to the cobbles saw Dev booted and turquoise-suited for his wedding to Bernie – and naturally, it wouldn’t be a Weatherfield wedding without a few dramatic curveballs thrown in, would it? Vomiting quads! A break-in at Number 7! An asthma attack at the altar! And one very big revelation from Aadi that puts a serious dampener on Dev’s big day... Elsewhere, Todd uncovers some rather shocking skeletons in Theo’s closet, leaving us not wondering 'if' he’ll end up on the receiving end of a knuckle sandwich from his new fella – but 'when'. Meanwhile, Abi and Carl continue their hotel hook-ups, Jenny turns her attention to a rather unexpected new man, and Carla and Lisa settle into life at Number 6.

It's been a long time coming, but this week finally saw Abi and Carl giving into their desires and dropping their drawers for a seven-minute bunk up in the garage office. Whilst Abi rated the union 'cracking' and Carl certainly seemed pleased with himself, we can't say we're too pleased about the development ourselves - but is there really ANYONE in this storyline who's side we'd say we were on? Meanwhile, Theo's dark side emerges once more as he exerts his control over Todd. Get out while you can, man - Theo's REALLY not worth it! Also this week, Dee-Dee and James come to an agreement about Laila's parenting that's DEFINITELY not going to run into any issues, Sam gets all environment conscious and the mystery surrounding Becky Swain's death deepens... and we admit it - we're very much intrigued!

It actually worked out quite well that we didn’t get to watch Corrie’s big flashback episode until this week – sharing our thoughts on it now makes for a nice lead-in to everything that’s happening in the present day. We ended up having some pretty different takes on the episodes too – from whether the flashbacks were even necessary to how Craig’s death was handled. But one thing we did agree on – and sorry if this sounds like a bit of a cliché – is that this felt like one of the furthest departures from ‘proper Corrie’ we’ve ever seen, with its intense focus on police action and a main cast made up mostly of relatively new characters. There’s a lot to unpack this week, and we hope you enjoy the discussion (even if some of it does veer into a bit of a whinge!).

A jolly May Day trip to the park takes a heartbreaking turn for Eileen this week when Julie sadly passes away. Though we've been critical in the past of Corrie bringing back this character just to kill her off, we have to admit that it's been an absolute joy seeing her on our screens again - however briefly. Pretty much everything surrounding the aftermath of her death gets a big thumbs down from us, though, from Brian jumping to the wild conclusion that Eileen bumped her off to George's farcical embalming fiasco on Friday. Also this week, Jenny bids farewell to  the Rovers (an even greater tragedy than Julie's death as far as we're concerned!), an intriguing past is teased between Mick and Kit, and James returns to the UK to collect Laila - but is Dee-Dee ready to let her go?

This week saw the confirmation of a theory many fans have been predicting for the past month or so – that Brody is indeed the child of Mick and Lou. That revelation immediately ramped up the drama in Friday’s episode, as Sean became the victim of a vicious beating at Mick’s hands – but what’s this going to mean for Gemma’s friendship with the Michaelis? And how will Ronnie react when he finds out Mick’s behind what he thinks is a second ginnel attack? Meanwhile, if last week’s bombshell that Theo has a wife wasn’t enough for Todd, Monday’s episode sees him discover that he also has two teenage kids. Can Todd bring himself to walk away from a relationship that’s turning out to be far more complicated than he ever imagined? This week, the Corrie storyline that’s had fans up in arms for the past five months finally kicked off in earnest, as Debbie was told she may have early onset dementia. And no, we’re not the least bit surprised that viewers are frustrated – we’re right there with you! With Corrie already overflowing with medical dramas in recent years, this latest development feels like one too many… not to mention the heartbreak of potentially having to say goodbye to one of the show’s brightest sparks. That said – how incredible was Sue Devaney in Wednesday’s episode? If there’s any silver lining to this storyline, it’s surely the promise of more powerhouse performances to come. But will that be enough to soften the blow? Only time will tell. Also this week, we meet Kevin’s shady half-brother Carl (and what an unpleasant first impression that was…), and Todd discovers that his new fella Theo is already married! Yep – a bit of a heavy one all round… Still, at least we had the joyful (and very noisy!) return of little Dorin to lift our spirits. He’s back, he’s babbling, and he’s making sure nobody gets a word in edgeways!

Meanwhile, Kevin starts his chemotherapy this week, just in case the Bailey story didn't deliver enough medical drama, but at least we also got the delightful scenes with Todd and Theo to fall back on for a bit of levity! Also this week, Christina's back at the Rovers and she's baying for Jenny's blood, Debbie takes a mysterious tumble in the ginnel, and Chesney finally catches up with the viewers by figuring out the identity of the mysterious silver van man.

When we heard that Rob was returning to the show all those months ago, one thing that we were hoping for above all others was that he'd get some screen time with Tracy, and Corrie certainly delivered on that front this week! After the runaway prisoner turns up in the ginnel to beg his ex-fiancée for help, Tracy finds herself looking down the barrel of a gun - will she get out alive, and what will next week's episodes bring for Carla and Lisa? Meanwhile, there's a return to the Street that nobody was expecting in the form of a newly recast James Bailey, as Ed summons him to Weatherfield in a desperate attempt to stop Dee-Dee giving up on her baby forever. It seems that barely a fortnight can go by at the moment without Corrie treating us to a big, hyped up episode, and after the stabbing, the fire and the kidnapping, this Wednesday saw David counting down the hours to his own demise in a desperate attempt to get Harvey off his back. We're not sure what was faster, to be honest - Andy careening down Rosamund Street towards the heavy-hearted hairdresser or David's rash decision that this was the only way out of the hole he's found himself in, but we had plenty of thoughts about how the episode played out, including poor Daisy's inclusion. Also this week, as Max is sentenced to six years in prison, Dylan settles down into life behind bars himself; Kevin accuses Abi and Ronnie of having an affair; and Yasmeen decides to sell her shares in Speed Daal and move down to London.

It was a bit of a barm cake of a week this week, with a fantastic visit to Weatherfield on Wednesday sandwiched between two episodes that really did leave a bit of a bitter taste in our mouths. To learn that such a chirpy, positive character as Julie has returned to the Street after ten years not to inject a ray of sunshine into the sometimes quite bleak world of Weatherfield but to reveal she has stage 4 cancer is one thing, but to then have Kevin be told that his own procedure last week was only partially successful really is a tough pill to swallow. Fortunately, there were still moments in the week we really enjoyed too - Ken's unveiling of Cassie's scheme was really fun to watch, and as much as we can't back Jenny's encouraging Daisy to lie about her baby's father, we couldn't help but get caught up in all the drama there too. So all in all, a very mixed bag this week, but still a lot of fun to chat about!

Also this week, there are ball gags aplenty as Kevin goes under the knife - can Abi hold it together and support her hubby?  Meanwhile, Max pleads guilty to the fire at No. 8, Mick and Lou prove to be quite the nuisance neighbours, and Eileen's sister Julie is back in Weatherfield - but why is this Carp being so coy?

It's a Street Talk only podcast this week as we've been away in London for a few days, but with plenty to dissect about this week's action on the cobbles, we reckon it's still a fun show!

If you enjoyed last year's Whodunnits centred around Lauren and Joel, you're in luck because Corrie has dipped into the same well again this week by presenting a number of suspects for the arson - did Abi torch the house to cover her tracks? Leanne to get revenge on her boyfriend-stealing sister? David to claim on the insurance? Or maybe the culprit is a character we may not be supposed to suspect at this point - someone who hasn't yet had the chance to explain their movements in the minutes before that match was tossed through the letterbox... 

After exhausting our thoughts and theories about the week's episodes, we take a trip to The Kabin, where we celebrate Corrie's win at the Broadcast Awards, then we hear some listeners' thoughts on the fire in the feedback section.

Wow, what an incredible week that was! After the all-too perfect happy ending that was being built up for Mason last week, we had a feeling that he might not be making it out of Monday's episode alive, but we weren't expecting an episode quite like that. In a sequence that was part dream, part parallel universe, Corrie showed us what might have happened had Dylan not bought that zombie knife a few months back, before ultimately revealing how it actually led to Mason's tragic end. There were powerhouse performances all round as characters reacted to the news of the stabbing, and plenty of discussion was generated relating to who was ultimately responsible for 2024's first death on the cobbles. Not only that, but we also said a fond (and hopefully temporary) farewell to Evelyn as she headed off to university, whilst over at the prison, Bobby has a big request for a familiar face from the past...

The biggest event, of course, was Gail's departure from Weatherfield after 50 glorious years on the show. Did it manage to hit all the right notes, and what did we make of that very special cameo at the end of Tuesday's episode? Second billing this week went to the Battersby sisters, who came to blows in a Christmas Day punch up at the Bistro. As fans of both characters, we've decided that it's best not to pick a side here - we prefer to just sit back and enjoy the chaos unfold! Also this week, Shona admits to David she's been unfaithful, Mason tries his best to ingratiate himself to Carla and Lisa, and Daisy finds herself in the middle of her very own 'Who's The Daddy?' story!

This time, Frankie's being diagnosed with aplastic anaemia - will Dee-Dee step in to help, even if it means keeping her own unwanted baby? Also this week, the word's slowly starting to get out that Daisy was the one who caused Shona's injury last week - though that's nothing compared to the hot gossip that Sally picks up on Friday when she sees Carla and Lisa kissing on the cobbles! Meanwhile, preparations for Gail and Jesse's wedding are in full force, though is Audrey right about her making a massive mistake?

Christmas time is nearly here, and as an early present, Corrie gave us a reprieve from all the police stories (well, mostly..) and instead focused on two of our favourite families of the Street: the Platts and the Battersbys. They may have been at each other's throats or otherwise ready to fall to pieces, but what's a soap Christmas without a family bust-up, eh? Leanne's plan to get revenge on her disloyal sister was delicious, and although we're always on the side of David and Shona staying together, we can't deny we were hooked by the mystery of what she got up to on Wednesday night... Meanwhile, you've got classic Corrie callbacks aplenty with Les' funeral, Rowan's on trial, plus there's plenty of Debbie Webster and even a rare Gail appearance... all in all, a lot to sink our teeth into!

After Street Talk, it's The Kabin, and we couldn't not discuss the front page news about the reasons behind Sean Wilson's axing. Plus, the Christmas TV schedules are out, so when can we expect to see the festive Street drama over the festive fortnight? We round off the show as always with some of your feedback.

Bit of a funny week for us this week as the pair of us watched two of the episodes separately from each other, so recording Street Talk was the first time we actually got to hear each other's opinions on the week's goings on! To cut a long story short, we're both very much invested in the revenge that Leanne is plotting for Nick after discovering that he and Toyah are still having it off behind her back - and the prospect of seasoned vindictive cow Tracy Barlow acting as spurned Leanne's second in command makes us all the more excited! Also this week, Carla gets a bonk on the bonce when Mason's brothers are interrupted breaking into the factory -  will her near-death experience spur her on to making a proper go of it with Lisa? Meanwhile, Alya returns to Weatherfield and spares no time in picking up where she left off with Adam, Lauren finds out whether or not Frankie can join her in the clink, and we learn of the off-screen death of Les Battersby - but was giving the character the heave-ho in this way a good move?

Although there's a bit of news we could have covered this week, for various reasons we decide to put it off until next week's podcast, but we still manage to squeeze in a bit of your feedback before we finish things off - including another lovely iTunes review!

Also this week, Mason's brothers are on the prowl, Dee-Dee finds out she's up the duff-duff, and Cassie resorts to desperate measures to keep her job as Ken's carer.

Things are certainly hotting up in the murder mystery story this week, and our prime candidate for whodunnit Kit has finally joined the official list of suspects. There's an awful lot of evidence pointing towards him for sure, but could Corrie be planning one last twist in the tale? Also this week, we had Paul's space launch on Wednesday. And if you think that sounds weird, by the end of the week we had characters talking about ghostly apparitions and Paul's essence being in an alternative dimension. All part of that gritty, down to earth drama that Corrie's famous for, eh? (We jest -  we did pretty much like it on the whole!) Also this week, Tim discovers Mason's been hiding out in the shed and soon becomes his surrogate Stu as he sees the good in the once zombie knife bearing scallywag. As well as that, there's more stoma drama for Bethany, a visiting order from Clayton... all in all, it was a pretty jam-packed week!

The flashbacks return in this week's episodes of Corrie, giving us a few more hints as to what happened the night of Joel's death. Since the start, we've been pretty convinced it was Kit who did him in (or maybe Gus at a long shot) but is the whodunit still working to keep us interested? Also this week, the Dev's Devving it up to the max at the quads' birthday party, leading to a surprise popping the question that goes down like a lead balloon - can he and Bernie recover? Meanwhile, Cassie and Steve spend the night together, the news of Gail's engagement starts to spread and Mason pulls Liam from in front of a speeding car - are we seeing a redemption story here, and is he the kind of character we really want to see being redeemed? 

It was a proper Platt-centric set of episodes on this week's Corrie, and even Gail was back on Wednesday after being conspicuously absent from her own story for the past fortnight. Not that she wasn't having a rough time of it though - in fact, she was barely back five minutes before she was being carted off to casualty with a heart attack! Elsewhere on the Street, both Kit and Gus are keeping a close eye on Dee-Dee - but are they just hoping she'll lead them towards clues about Joel's killer, or have they got something to hide themselves? Meanwhile, Cassie's presence at No. 1 continues to irk Steve, Nick struggles to resist his feelings for Toyah, and there are critters in the pittas at Speed Daal...

Not a whole lot in the way of news this week, but we do check out a new set of official Corrie merch on the ITV shop - and it doesn't exactly get a a glowing review... We round off the show with more of your thoughts on Joel's killer, Stu's hasty exit and the early uploads in the feedback segment.

It's another extra-long show this week, but not because of another lengthy Michael rant about the scheduling - nope, this time it's because we've got a murder mystery on our hands (and unlike the Lauren one back in the Spring, this time somebody's actually been murdered!). Yep, Joel turned up dead in a sack on Monday's visit to Weatherfield, and there are plenty of characters with the motive and the opportunity to have done him in. Did Mason do it as payback for Joel's treatment of Betsy? Did God-fearing Dee-Dee go Old Testament on his arse? Or maybe it's just what at this point seems to be the most obvious suspect, DC Kit Green. There are still plenty of clues still to be revealed in flashbacks, but we try to piece together all the evidence so far. Joel's not the only character we had to wave bye-bye to this week either, as Stu hangs up his whites and heads of for a new life in Germany - and not even Yasmeen seems that bothered by it! We've also got more drama at the Platts (with no sign of Gail!), a trip to A&E for Sam, and yet another 'the Winter-Browns are poor' story. It wasn't all gold, but on the whole, we thought it was a pretty decent week!

After kicking off the show with some impressions of The Street of Lies, Corrie's brand new choose your own adventure book set in 1983, we delve into the week's episodes, and the minefield that is the return of Jesse Chadwick combined with the official start of Swarla relationship. We've all seen the romance between this pair coming a mile off, and although there's still a good deal of denial going on from both characters after the electric scenes on Monday, they now seem to be a lock-in for Corrie's next big couple... and we've got a lot to say about it! Same with Jesse's return, as the forgotten cowboy (no, he wasn't a clown) mosies back into Weatherfield with his heart set on Gail. Yes, we know a lot of viewers would have preferred Martin or, well, pretty much anyone other than who we got, but we're giving Corrie a bit of a break here, and actually, we've enjoyed what we've seen so far! Also this week, Hope's vape habit nearly leads to a blazing inferno at No. 9, Mason's brother Logan makes his debut, and Paul's family discover a letter containing his final wishes.

Up next on the show, it's The Kabin, and unsurprisingly, the news that Corrie is moving permanently to 'online first' morning uploads dominates the discussion. We're both feeling pretty strongly about this shake-up to the scheduling, and we don't necessarily agree with each other either! If you're a fan of a good Conversation Street rant, hopefully you won't be disappointed with this one! And that's not the only Corrie news this week either! Stephen Reid's jacket going up for sale on ITV Reloved, a royal visit to the set, and some sad news about the death of a Corrie icon from the 70s... There's a lot to cover here! In fact, it's probably for the best that we didn't have a whole lot of feedback this week - although one email from a listener whose friend was an extra in a recent scene still manages to end up causing a bit of a segue into a discussion about Corrie's sustainability efforts.. Yep, all and all it's a long show this week - we hope you enjoy!

Overall, we thought this was a pretty damn good week of Coronation Street! Going into it, we knew that there'd be the funeral and the rave, of course, and there'd likely be more argy-bargy between Billy and Bernie; plus, there was that mysterious voice message left by Joel last week that would have to be followed up on. What we weren't expecting was a surprise pregnancy for Fiz, a surprise reappearance for Denny and Gail (not together, we hasten to add!), or that we'd get some beautiful location shots to set the scene for Dee-Dee, Lisa and Kit's investigation that would lead up champing at the bit to find out what on earth has befallen Weatherfield's slipperiest solicitor... It certainly wasn't perfect (we don't know what irritates us more - Kirk being a donut or those awful CGI firework), but all in all, we had a great time discussing what went on in Weatherfield this week!

It feels like so long since Corrie has done any filming abroad... and that trend continues this week despite the numerous scenes set in a Turkish hospital. And the reason for this little faux jaunt? Why, to raise more issues of course! Well we certainly won't be heading to southeastern Europe for liposuction any time soon, we can tell you that. To be fair, and despite predicting the contrary when we first heard about this story, we actually quite enjoyed Bethany's scenes this week, which felt like a bit of a fresh spin on the usual Corrie medical drama. Also this week, Joel's hatching some kind of plan that combines charitable donations, acting drunk and an almighty dollop of ominous background music.. but what exactly is he up to? Meanwhile, Hope's still on the vapes, Stu's back to defending Mason and Paul and Bernie finally manage to reach some kind of compromise regarding Paul's funeral.

As Joel got hauled into Weatherfield Police Station for the umpteenth time and Lauren spent yet another set of episodes standing over Frankie's incubator looking tragic, we were definitely starting to get a little weary of Swain and Dee-Dee's investigations this week, but with the CPS  *finally* agreeing to charge him on Friday, it looks like things might now be set to move forward. We might not have had too much to say about that story, but the aftermath of Paul's death certainly elicited some lively discussion - we're very much on Team Billy here and think that Bernie's being totally out of order... though we realise that that's not necessarily the prevailing opinion among viewers! Also this week, everyone's jetting off abroad, as Tracy returns to Spain, Bethany finds a job in Turkey and Tyrone fails to stop Alina returning to Romania with Dorin.   

In The Kabin, we cover the news of the second loss to the Corrie family in as many weeks as Don Brennan actor Geoff Hinsliff passes away, and we round the show off with more of your feedback.

There were tears aplenty this week as Paul finally succumbed to his MND in a dramatic episode on Monday which, though utterly heartbreaking at times, still managed to get in some of humour that's been running through this storyline since the start. With top notch performances from all the leads, we were very much satisfied with how the episode panned out - but will Billy and Bernie be able to put their differences aside to plan Paul the funeral he deserves? Also this week, Leanne manages to bring down Rowan, Tyrone resorts to desperate measures to stop Alina taking Dorin to Romania, and Swain makes a breakthrough in her secret pursuit of Joel.

But with the 'sisters before misters' stance she takes on Friday, is that one relationship that's not getting any further off the ground? (Sorry Nick and Toyah shippers, but we can only hope!) Meanwhile, Swain doubles down on her pursuit of Joel, but is it at the expense of her relationship with her daughter? Also this week, Paul writes his manifesto, Cassie and Tracy lock horns and the magical money fairy of Weatherfield  waves her wand Webster-wards.

You might have seen from our social media that we had another trip to Manchester last weekend, and although we sadly weren't able to see Barbara Knox at Pride, we did take a trip to the Coronation Street Experience again, this time with some family members in tow. Before we kick off the Street Talk segment this week, we chat a bit about our time there, including a few small changes to the tour since our last visit, plus our Star Tour encounter with Antony Cotton. And yes, we were still able to keep the existence of the podcast a secret from our family while we were there too! 

Up next on the podcast, we move onto the meat of the show, this week's Street Talk. It had been long rumoured that Beth would be leaving Coronation Street this year, and this week she finally said her teary goodbyes to Weatherfield after being driven out of town by Kit. He wasn't the only shady villain roaming the Street this week either; in fact, Rowan and Joel were both up to no good too. However, whilst Rowan's starting to sweat after Amy CTRL-ALT-DELETEs out of her malware session, things are looking rosy for Joel as he's told the police are dropping the case against him. Speaking of the police, we got a new interior set for the station on Friday's episode - we thought it looked great, though we can't be the only ones concerned that Corrie's starting to feel more like The Bill every week...

All exciting stuff, but did the follow-up to the big reveal get a bit TOO police-heavy? And speaking of all things legal, Beth's counterfeit capers get her in Kirk's bad books this week, whilst Alina discovers that if you stand up to your nail bar traffickers in court, you might just be getting a knock on the door from Heavy For Hire... Also this week, Toyah's pleased to hear that her her medical issues are all ova, but surely it's only a matter of time before her nookie with Nick comes to light...

Not gonna lie, this was definitely a bit of a 'meh' week for us this week, despite some clearly dramatic things going down on the cobbles. From Lauren's early labour to the whodunnit surrounding the fire at Stefan's office, it was all very exciting on paper... but yeah, we just weren't really feeling it. Did that stop us having a right old laugh discussing everything that was going on, though? Of course not! And we DID get to see more of the marvellous Debbie Webster, plus we were definitely satisfied with the ongoing developments in Paul's story too! And will Alina be popping back onto the Street soon... maybe with a tiny Tyrone in tow..? Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Very little in the way of news again this week, so we give the Kabin a miss again, but we did of course get a bundle of feedback about last week's fantastic Paul and Billy special, so we round off the episode reading out some of your thoughts.

This week on Coronation Street saw another special episode dedicated to Paul and Billy's storyline, and what an episode it was! Masterful performances from the two leads, and a heartbreaking script that had us on the edge of our seats as that clock ticked towards midnight... and just to keep you guys in suspense (and also to facilitate an earlier recording session for us, to be honest!), we actually left this story until last to discuss this week. Still plenty to digest from the other stories as well though, including Toyah's devastating diagnosis, Stu taking pity on Mason and Kevin and Abi's hilarious evening out at the hotel to try out Debbie's new tasting menu! It's been an incredibly busy week for us - Michael's not even been home all week and we've been in Manchester for the Radio Times Soap Awards since Friday night, so this episode of the podcast has been a bit cobbled together - typical then, that the action in this week's Coronation Street has been so discussion worthy! We've seen praise heaped upon Tuesday night's semi two-hander between Joel and Lauren, but it's also raised more than a few questions amongst viewers too, so what did we think of it? This episode is a Street Talk only podcast - no quiz, news or feedback this week as we've had next to no time to record anything, but hopefully you'll enjoy listening to it just as much as we did recording and chatting about the unfolding drama!

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... We thought that putting Nick and Toyah together as part of what up to that point had been a really engaging cult story was a bad move, but it turns out that was nothing compared to what Corrie had up its sleeves for poor Toyah this week. Seriously, why does everything have to get so depressing? Definitely not fans of this week's developments! At least there were moments of levity in some of the other stories. Shona wagging off work in an attempt draw Roy out from his self-imposed prison was great fun, and we loved Steve, Cassie and Tim's capers with Tommy Orpington's bust too. (Heh heh... "Bust") And at least it seems like the Shuttleworths at war story is over for now too and the pair can go back to being nice to each other again. Every cloud, eh?

Not a whole lot in the way of Corrie news this week, but we do have a bit of a chat about the news that Thelma Barlow has come out of retirement for a role in in a 20-minute short film. Now can we just get a 20-minute return to Weatherfield for Mavis, please? We'd take 15..! We round off the podcast with more of your feedback.

Overall this was a pretty good week, we thought, which isn't always the case when the Winter-Browns are headlining! However, some excellent performances by Dolly-Rose Campbell and the addition of Kit as he saves her from prison really helped us to enjoy this week's A-story, plus we're always suckers for a bit of location shooting too! Elsewhere on the Street, we're finally introduced to DS Swain's daughter Betsy, who looks set to be a real troublemaker; Glenda and George's spat is too much for Michael to bear; and Tim has a big decision to make when it comes to how he's going to be spending Steve's birthday - we sense a bust-up at the bust unveiling is imminent! 

Next on the podcast, it's time for The Kabin - it's good new for Corrie as they triumph at the TRIC Awards, plus the announcement of an official 'Audience With Claire King' event for Emmerdale fans has us speculating whether something similar could be on the cards for Corrie fans in the future.. A real mixed bag of a week, we thought, with Wednesday's trip to Weatherfield definitely being the highlight thanks to its cosy, heartwarming scenes like movie night at No. 5 and what we're hoping is the beginning of a redemption arc for Cassie as she she bonds with Ken following his fall. Either side of that episode, though, there was one that made us angry (Toyah and Nick... No!!) and anther whose main story of Kevin and Stefan going head to head just didn't make that big of an impression on us. Still, at least we got a random reappearance of Sabrina, who looks set to be involved in dastardly Joel's plot in some way...

After last week's reveal that Joel was responsible for Lauren's disappearance, he was in full-on skulky villain mode this week - and of course, we were loving it! But with Dee-Dee accepting his marriage proposal on Wednesday, will she discover the truth about her new fiancé before he gets her up the aisle? Meanwhile, we said bye bye Si on Monday as the third member of the Barlow clan in six months headed off to the Med to start a new life - and Leanne has a VERY unusual way of coping with the grief of losing another another son! Also this week, things are hotting up between Glenda and Michael, Roy continues to distance himself from his friends, and Kevin and Abi discover just how much it would cost to suppress her A.I. videos online - does anyone want to club together and pay the same so that we never have to see that freaky Oli monstrosity again too...?

Everyone watching this week's Corrie most likely went into Monday's episode with their theories about what was going to happen - and if you were anything like us, you were probably right with a lot of it. The identity of Lauren's so-called killer, the outcome of Roy's confrontation with Griff that was teased when we were shown his makeshift blade last week, the budding romantic tension between Carla and Swain... but despite the week still being relatively low on shocks, we really did quite enjoy it - for the most part. The 'different perspectives' schtick wasn't necessarily needed, but it was fun for the three days it lasted, and the flashbacks on Thursday - especially the one with Joel looking at himself in the mirror - were especially effective. There was a lot to unpack this week and it actually turned out to be one our longest ever Street Talk segments, so after recapping some of the week's big news stories in The Kabin, we decided to end the podcast there. We will get to that feedback eventually, though, we promise!

Those returning villains just keep on coming, with both Dean and Griff making a reappearance this week, and Corey, though admittedly not on screen, being a big focus of Monday's episode. Were any of them behind Lauren's murder? Is Lauren actually even dead? Like most viewers, we definitely have our doubts, but we guess it won't be too long until we find out now... It's been a tough old week for Abi too - not only does she discover a documentary has been made about Seb's 'rising star' killer, but then she finds out a sex tape is doing the rounds online that seems to contain footage of her! Meanwhile, Bernie tries in vain to convince Kit to be part of the family, Bethany makes a surprise new BFF and Simon prepares to head out to sea with his dad - but will Leanne be back from the retreat in time before he ups anchor and sets sail?

Not a whole lot of Corrie related news this week, but we do at least get the NTA nominations to chat about in The Kabin, and we finish things off with more of your feedback, including some great suggestions for Corrie/Simpsons crossover characters following this week's Listener Questions episode!

There were a few nice little mysteries this week that keep us guessing, with the question of the identity of Nathan's attacker on Wednesday being the most intriguing - even if we didn't think Corrie quite stuck the landing once the mystery assailant was revealed. Bernie's search for her long-lost son also proved quite interesting, and with Christopher / Kit / Zodiac / Zac now working under the iron-fisted DS Swain, it looks like we may be seeing a whole lot more of him in the coming weeks. Though we were both in agreement that the return of Nathan Curtis to the show left us feeling slightly underwhelmed - but still hopeful that be getting a bit more sinister in the coming weeks - while Gemma's still very much engaged in the Lauren story, Michael's patience for how long it's dragging out is wearing a little thin... A lot of characters getting angry at each other this week too - while Maria's annoyance at Gary after catching him with Sarah is somewhat understandable, George and Glenda at war just doesn't sit right with us! It's been quite a while since the Paul story has been at the forefront of the show, but it returned to the spotlight this week, bringing a new character into the mix in the form of Paul and Gemma's dad Denny. Sounds like he's got a bit of a secret about our Bernadette too - but does this story need any extra bells and whistles at this stage? We were also introduced to some new characters in Steve's dating adventures this week too, with Aurora and Demi both making quite the impression. Meanwhile, Roy takes a step towards solving the mystery of Lauren's disappearance, and Alya and Adam finally admit their feelings for each other. Well, maybe 'finally' isn't the right word considering how they seemed to have been conjured out of nowhere to facilitate Sair Khan's maternity leave story, but you get the picture.

Not an especially big week for news this week, but there are a few small stories to cover before we head into the feedback section to hear some of your reactions to Toyah's big revelation, plus in a refreshing change to what seems to be a growing majority of online discourse at the moment, a thoroughly positive email about the state of the show at the moment - fancy that!

Well this week's action certainly stirred up some strong opinions online, didn't it? And we're not talking about the will-they-won't-they relationship status of Asha and Nina either.. No, it seems that with Toyah's new story, which kicked off on Monday, Corrie is asking its viewers to suspend quite a bit of disbelief and accept the fact that for six months or so of 2001, Toyah was pregnant with Phil Simmonds' baby. You know, despite there being no evidence on screen at the time that that could have possibly been the case. Since rumours of this story started doing the rounds about a month or so ago, we've been whipping ourselves into a frenzy about the unlikelihood of this turn of events, and now it's been shown on screen... we really do have mixed opinions. Elsewhere this week, the little projectionist living inside Roy's head treats us to another thrilling instalment of what's going on in his inner psyche, Amy struggles to find interview guests for her new radio show (we've all been there, Amy!) and Todd makes a scandalous discovery tucked amongst Archie's files at the undertaker's...

Partly because of our lateness and partly because Michael's under the weather and losing his voice yet again, we make this episode of the podcast a Street Talk only affair once we get past the Ryan and Mikey chat - and with Roy now behind bars on remand, there's certainly a lot to chat about! As much as we quite enjoyed the court scenes on Monday, things did go off the boil (for one of us, at least!) come Wednesday when Bobby attempted to throw the police off the scent by inadvertently making up that he saw Lauren's assailant wearing an exact replica of Daniel's jacket - are we to believe he reality coded it into existence, perhaps? Speaking of which, Leanne's going further down the Institute's rabbit hole this week - but at least her newfound outlook on life seems to have got her to freshen up her wardrobe. Also this week, Sean ends his twenty year stay at Number 11, Alya quits Barlows' Legal Services (seemingly throwing them into technological chaos as she was the only one who knew how to close down pop up ads) and Eliza Didlittle heads off to pastures new on the continent.

All in all, a pretty decent week for Corrie this week, we thought, thanks to Roy Cropper being front and centre once again. Yes, we've all seen characters being wrongly imprisoned before, and yes, we know that he's not going to be spending his final days in a prison cell and that something's going to come along eventually to exonerate him, but we're still very much enjoying the journey, as unwise and naive as some of Roy's decisions may have been of late! Same with the Institute story too - all this talk of reality coding is utterly bonkers, but we're so intrigued as to where it's leading for Leanne, Nick and Toyah (just please no secret affair for the latter two, Corrie!). The bits with Liam and Dylan didn't necessarily spark that much excitement, and the less said about the lack of stability behind the scenes at the Rovers the better, but on the whole, this week's given us a lot to chat about!

After the Street Talk segment, we're off to The Kabin, where there's yet another rumour fuelled article about the so-called crisis at Corrie to contend with, plus, for a bit of lighter news, we check out where Corrie related folks have ended up in the Radio Times' list of Top 100 most influential people in TV. As for the happenings on the cobbles this week, the main topic of discussion was the cat fighting between Daisy and Bethany - or at least it would have been if the mysteriously expanding Rovers kitchen wasn't hogging all the attention! By the end of the week, the pub was supposedly under Carla's control. As for what that will look like and how she thinks she's going to recoup her missing £250k from a place that's barely managing to turn a profit is anyone's guess, but we do our best to theorise! This week also saw a return to the bullying story, as Maria's overprotectiveness of Liam starts to spiral into paranoia. Will Dylan do the right thing in court next week and say his bit to get Mason sent down? We're not sure it's over for him yet... Meanwhile, Tracy joins Tommy on a flit to Spain after flip-flopping over whether or not to get back with Steve, the continued harassment of Roy leads him to confine himself to his flat, and Brian saves the day for Paul.

No wonder DS Swain didn't make an appearance in this week's Corrie - the poor woman must have been drowning in paperwork what with all the criminal activity going on. First off, we had Damon donning a balaclava for a raid on a security van (what a noble fellow that he didn't want to kill the driver - Sarah's got a good'un there..!); then on Friday we saw someone break into the Rovers and threaten Glenda with a baseball bat, snatching the night's takings. If you needed proof that crime levels in Weatherfield are soaring, look no further! Also this week, Paul gets some bad news from his speech and language therapist, Joseph secures a place at Oakhill, and Summer bogs off to Boston.

This week, the lion's share of the screen time went to the 'Where's Lauren?' storyline - though this very quickly turned into 'Who Killed Lauren?', at least in DS Swain's eyes, when a police search of the precinct flat finds some compelling evidence that a violent, bloody confrontation has taken place there. We don't seriously think that prime suspects Roy and Daniel have actually got anything to hide here (and nor, we think, are we supposed to), but that didn't stop the whole affair leaving us on the edge of our seats, especially after some brilliant scenes in the interview room! Meanwhile, a new story for Leanne gets underway when she finds herself charmed by the enigmatic leader of Simon's so-called self-help group, who's giving off some seriously culty vibes. If Nirab and the Etheric Foundation don't get at least a shout out as this story progresses, we riot! Also this week, Stu considers letting Eliza go to Germany with Dom, Mason gets charged after his fingerprints are found on the knife, and Gemma objects to Linda's offer to pay for Joseph to go to Oakhill.

The truth is out about Tommy and Tracy's affair, and it was only a matter of time before Steve found out - though we must admit, we weren't admitting that part to come so soon! Meanwhile, Jenny and Daisy have a close call this week as Carla comes close to stumbling upon the truth about them using her stolen money to buy the Rovers - and that's not even the half of Daisy's problems this week thanks to the publication of a certain salacious magazine article. Also this week, Dee-Dee does her best to move on from Joel, Bobby raises his concerns about Lauren's disappearance to the police, and Adam hits a snag with Harvey's appeal - we just hope for his sake he's got plenty of free minutes with his phone contract, what with all those calls to the prison he's making!

Quite a bit to go over in The Kabin this week, including a truly terrifying Coronation Street eBay listing and rumours that we're going to be seeing a certain Corrie redhead enter the Big Brother house next week. We also weigh in on the news that Hollyoaks is being cut to three episodes a week - no doubt it's terrible for everyone who's allegedly being made redundant, but could it lead to a better show, and would it work for Corrie? This week's Corrie started strong but ended with a bit of a whimper, in our opinion. With Paul now having decided that rather than letting nature take its course, he wants to be able to end things Hayley Cropper style, his mission on Monday was to find people to give him a lend him a hand. Bringing Abi into a story for a bit more emotional weight is never a bad thing in our book, but the real high point of the week for was when Billy swore on the Bible that he'd help him out when the time came. Elsewhere this week, we had Cassie infiltrating Terry's house in the the puppy farm story, which the pair of us have got quite differing opinions of, but if there's one thing we could both agree on, it's that the public service announcement that was Friday's episode very much missed the mark if they were trying to get us to worry about whether Aadi would pull through. Check those carbon monoxide alarms, people! 

Up next on the podcast, we spend a good deal of time chatting about the big news this week that Iain Macleod has been given the Executive Producer role we saw advertised back in September. Has the gangster gone good, and what was that secretive phone call of Bethany's about?  We share our thoughts!  There were also some more fantastic scenes in the MND story on Wednesday - not just the moment when Paul has his fall, but also the fun bits between him and David, too. Why did the writers have to wait this long to remember they used to be friends?

That was actually a pretty decent week this week, wasn't it? And who'd have thought that the Ryan, Daniel and Daisy story, which we've been somewhat cool on recently, would be the reason for its quality? Daniel has always been at his most watchable when he's let his pompous, entitled and manipulative side loose, and we certainly saw a lot of that this week as he led Daisy up the garden path knowing full well that he was well aware of her bedroom shenanigans with Ryan. There were definitely shades of angry 80s Ken in Rob Mallard's performance this week, and we loved it! Also this week, the comparably low stakes drama of Stephen's journal led to a surprise callback to a nearly 40 year old story for Gail, and the goings on at Number 9 led to more brilliant Evelyn moments. Even the Stu storyline had a few interesting twists in!

Another strong week for Corrie this week, building up to an especially brilliant second half of Friday's episode, much like last week. We must admit we weren't expecting a return to Amy's rape story from earlier in the year, but we were on the edge of our seats during the scenes at the club on Friday, and we've been loving seeing the blossoming romance with Aadi too. Speaking of romances, we enjoyed watching more beautifully bittersweet scenes for Paul and Billy, but the real star of that particular storyline this week was Bernie, with Jane Hazelgrove showing yet again what a fantastic dramatic actress she can be. Also this week, Dylan's selling vapes for Mason, it's the end of an era for Audrey (and don't forget Vin Diesel!) and will the Rovers be redeveloped into flats? Well obviously not, but it's still nice to see a return for that particular storyline after a good few weeks in limbo.

In the Kabin segment, we check out who's been nominated in this year's I Talk Telly Awards, and we round things off with a couple of emails in the feedback section.

We love a hyped up, 'special' week of Corrie as much as the next fan, but sometimes, an episode comes along out of the blue that completely catches you off guard and blows you away with its unexpected brilliance, and Friday's trip to Weatherfield was absolutely that. Throughout the story of Paul's heartbreaking decline, Corrie has made sure to retain the lighthearted, comedic touches to balance out the darkness, and the combination of Billy and Paul's bath-time escapade and Bernie and Abi's dimly lit chat at No. 5 delivered in spades - a delight to watch and discuss for this episode of the podcast! There were other stories too this week, of course - the factory strike was a nice callback to the days of Ida Clough and co downing tools to stick it to Baldwin, and Mason is proving to be a very watchable baddie in Dylan's bullying storyline - but it's the MND story that's got us the most hooked. 6 to 12 months to go, too! BGT Week 2024 for the tragic conclusion, perhaps..?

In the Kabin segment, we share our joy at the news that friend of the podcast Charlie De Melo will be appearing in one of this year's Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials, and we celebrate the ongoing success of Ellie Leach on Strictly Come Dancing - and yes, we've actually seen some of her routines this week! We finish things off with more of your fabulous feedback.

Did anyone else absolutely love Monday's episode? The Halloween party at the Bistro, Peter and Audrey's reconciliation chat, Tim and Steve's fishing trip.. a script that ticked all the right boxes for what Corrie should be, as far as we're concerned. The rest of the week was more so-so (we did have to sit through more of the Stu and Eliza story after all), but the focus on Daniel piecing together the clues about Ryan and Daisy's time at the hotel definitely helped keep things interesting for the most part. As well as that, we had Courtney's abrupt dumping of Aadi (though Michael was sure something more sinister was afoot!), a couple of cute scenes between Sam and Hope and even little bit more Toyah - who Simon DEFINITELY seems to suspect is having an affair with Peter... All in all, it gave us plenty to chat about!

Up next on the podcast is The Kabin, where we have a lengthy chat about the news that the British Soap Awards have been cancelled next year - without any proper reason being given! Super Soap Week is here again, and this year they're dedicated to the demise of Corrie's killer Canuck, Stephen Reid. Going into the week, everyone had the same question on their lips: who was going to be Stephen's final victim? Though we must admit we were somewhat disappointed the answer turned out to be Rufus, we still had a blast watching this week's episodes, and the misdirection and twists that Corrie continued to throw at us over the course of the week certainly kept us on our toes! Will Tim be found before it's too late? Did Stephen have a fitting end? Will Peter become the latest of Ken's kids to get away with murder? Buckle up as we discuss these questions and much, much more!

Twenty years to the week after Todd's famous 'wrong move' that saw him attempt to kiss Nick, Coronation Street finally had its first gay wedding day this week (or at least the first that didn't end in a jilting or a pesky factory roof landing on one half of the couple's head..). Despite the tragic fact that this marriage can't possibly end happily ever after due to Paul's condition, the day itself was joyous, and the resultant fallout between Billy and the Church led to some great discussion on the podcast too! We also had a fair bit to say about the marketing of vapes to children too, as Corrie begins its latest teen bullying / peer pressure story focusing on Liam, Dylan and new bad boy Mason. Also this week, a few unlikely coincidences (that are actually ten a penny on Corrie, to be fair) lead to Stephen realising that he needs to leave Weatherfield ASAP, Aadi's hissy fit nearly sees him getting arrested and Stu tries to dig up some dirt on Dom.

If you've been following our socials, you'll have seen that the reason for our late upload this week was because Gemma had to have her appendix out on Monday morning, and she's been a little bit knackered! We decided that, to make things a bit easier for her, we'd forego the usual news and feedback for the week in an attempt to keep the podcast to a relatively short run-time... and then proceeded to talk about the whole appendectomy affair for about an hour after finishing up chatting about what happened on Corrie. It was a bit of a mixed bag this week, we thought, with a few great shocks and surprises sitting alongside some plots that really struggled to engage us - chief among which was the Stu and Eliza story. A stroppy pre-teen, a deadbeat dad trying to sell his daughter, a tussle with a copper leading to a character's brief arrest.. it all kind of feels like it has been done before, and with characters we cared more about, too! On the flip side, though, you've got Paul's continuing decline and that gut punch of an ending to Friday's episode - Peter Ash's performance continues to really impress us, and we're sure there are more heartbreaking scenes to come! Also this week, Dee-Dee goes on a date, the truth is out about Aadi and Courtney and Roy finds himself with a new house guest!

There are a couple of big talking points in The Kabin this week, as Coronation Street announces a fan event in the new Visitor Centre next month, whilst a job advert for a new executive producer that's come online recently suggests it could be all change at the top soon! Surprisingly, by the end of the week, it looks like the Baileys are actually rolling in it - though if Ed were to reflect on any of the lines from that Flint woman's book of inspirational quotes right now, it would be 'a fool and his money are soon parted'... Meanwhile, after sniffing round her for the best part of a year, Stephen finally makes the move on Jenny - does he have his sights set on the Rovers next? Also this week, Stu comes to a decision about Dom's access to Eliza, Carla comes surprisingly close to figuring out the true source of her psychotic episodes, and Billy and Paul have a go at skinny dipping.

Meanwhile, Paul and his rapidly declining condition are back in the spotlight this week - is Billy being a bit too overbearing in how he's dealing with his fiancé's decreased mobility, and is he really going to get the bishop to turn a blind eye to the rule book so that they can get married in a church? Also this week, Todd and George's childish spats lead to Rest Easy gaining a new employee, Ronnie buys some shares in the brewery, and Jenny's chuffed to be taken out by Stephen - and it only seems like a matter of time now until he gets his hands on the Rovers!

We were excited to see Evelyn and Cassie return to the cobbles this week, and the story of Tyrone's real mum reconnecting with him was just as gripping as it was when it was left off a few months ago, helped in no small part by some brilliant performances by the main cast members. With Cassie now staying at No. 9, we're sure there'll be plenty of opportunity for drama with the neighbours in the next few weeks, but will Tyrone be able to forgive Evelyn? Meanwhile Stephen manages to wriggle his way out of another tight corner when he successfully snags the telltale tiepin from Lou's room - but he might regret making an enemy of Peter in the process. Also this week, Lauren makes a surprise proposition to Roy, Debbie discovers some surprising news about the brewery and Ryan's roid rage rises.

This week, with Elaine disappearing off to Scarborough, you might have been wondering which storyline Stephen would be meddling in next. Thanks to a bit of a weird flashback sequence on Wednesday, though, it turns out he's already been laying the groundwork for interfering in Sarah and Adam's paternity dramas! So many great twists and turns there, and once again, we have to say that what could have been a standard affair / who's the daddy storyline is still feeling surprisingly fresh! Meanwhile, Aadi's getting himself into some real hot water as he continues to dance to Courtney's tune - is this a comedy story? Something serious about an innocent teen being groomed? A steamy summer love affair? Turns out we have plenty to say about this one, either way! Meanwhile, Ryan's back and getting himself jacked, Paul's second encounter with Shelly gets him considering his future and Todd gets a Stiffy.

This week was the very definition of a mixed bag! We're big fans of Spider and Toyah and have missed their lack of presence on the show for most of the year, but when the powers that be decide to include them, this is what we get? A farcical, zero tension hostage scene followed by Spider choosing the force over his fiancée? We'd say words fail us, but we certainly managed to get a good discussion out of it in the podcast! Then on the other side of the coin, you've got the Stephen storyline - now we're not going to say that's not farcical either, but we were on the edge of our seats with that plot this week! Who knew that Elaine actually had a backbone, and what on earth is Stephen going to do now? Also this week, Paul is apprehensive about his MND support group visit, Aadi attracts the attentions of his new boss' wife, and Brian finally gets rid of Isabella.

We absolutely have sympathy for everything Gemma's going through too, and as for Ryan's story... yeah, it's going through all the expected beats. But hey, at least they've remembered Michelle exists! And would Stephen please just hurry up and bump off Elaine already?

Did anyone else find Corrie to be absolutely fantastic this week? There were revelations aplenty, like Sarah's pregnancy, the truth about the actual identity of 'Bec' and of course the fact that Ty's birth mum Cassie is actually alive and well. Then you had some brilliant scenes such as that nine-minute hospital room epic between Evelyn and Cassie, and Shona getting emotional over Max's victim statement. Stephen's increasing frustrations with both Owen and Elaine made us chuckle, and the hopelessness of Paul's tragic tale gave way to some heartwarming moments like the left-handed darts match and Dee-Dee's stories about how her faith got her through some tough times in LA. An absolute banger of a week, which led to a particularly lengthy Street Talk segment!

Not a whole lot of news this week, but we did have one or two items to cover like the introduction of some real life Roy's Rolls rolls to the market at Co-op (why did that great idea take so long?) and then we round the episode off with some feedback.

Now how long will the secret snogs with Daisy stay hidden from Daniel, we wonder..? Meanwhile, With the late night licence in full swing, the Bistro story needs a new buzzword to drop into every other scene, and now it's the turn of 'pop up restaurant' - but with Damon popping off before it can actually do any popping up, will the plans actually go ahead? Also this week, Paul doesn't want to be a charity case, Brian plans a tour of the 'northern Riviera' for Isabella and Bec discovers the reason behind Max's incarceration - and she ain't happy!

It feels like it's been a long time coming, but we finally get to see Elaine and Stephen's new flat this week, which, very fittingly for everyone's favourite deadly Canadian uncle, immediately becomes the scene of an attempted murder. Tim's suspicions are raised thanks to a slip-up on Stephen's part involving a trip to the shops for some bread - can Tim use his loaf and suss Stephen out before Elaine is toast? Meanwhile the consent storyline comes to a climax as Aaron leaves Weatherfield in shame - despite still not admitting what he did to Amy. It's an exit that some viewers may find somewhat unsatisfying as it seems like he got away with his crime - but we personally loved it! Also this week, Isabella continues to grate, Max and Bec become an item and Sarah fights for her marriage.

Isn't it strange how much hype and expectations for a week can affect your enjoyment of it? We'd built ourselves up for the BGT episodes so much that we couldn't help but be a little disappointed last week, but with that build up removed for this week, we were able to simply enjoy them for what they were - a solid set of eps that were super tense and dramatic at times and laugh out loud funny at others. There've been a good number of bad mothers over the years on Corrie, and Sarah's actions this week put her comfortably among them as she tried to convince little Harry that he was seeing things when he reported witnessing a full-on snoggeroo between her and Damon. With the affair now out in the open, surely a pregnancy has got to be on the horizon? Meanwhile, the Baileys' encounter with two of their snobby ex-neighbours sets the wheels in motion for a proper classic Corrie comedy caper. On top of all that, we've got the surprising verdict in Justin's trial, Carla's resignation from the factory for what feels like the millionth time (and a possible next victim for Stephen in the form of new boss Owen?) and our first encounter with a resident of the precinct flats. All in all, a great week!

There's some heartbreaking news in The Kabin this week as Corrie legend Julie Goodyear is diagnosed with dementia, but there's also lots to celebrate too, including the British Soap Award results and the opening of the new exhibition space at The Coronation Street Experience. We round off the podcast with more of your feedback, including thoughts on BGT Week, Maxine's murder on Classic Corrie and a celebration of Dee Dee Bailey!

Britain's Got Talent week is here again, and you know what that means for Corrie: stunts galore, massive twists and long-running stories reaching their climax... except that didn't really happen this year. We've seen a wide range of opinions on this year's 'big week', and although we sit somewhere in the middle, we must admit that it didn't quite live up to our hopes for the week. Yes, Gemma's wedding was lovely and the dress was absolutely perfect for her; yes, the performances from the various actors reacting to Paul's news were all spot on; and yes, the courtroom drama ramped up nicely on Friday. But we still can't feel like things could have been bigger, especially when it came to the acid attack story, which felt it took a little too long to get going - plus the less said about that kiss at the end of the week the better! Come on Daisy - it took us a long time to warm up to you as a character... please don't spoil it! 

This episode was recorded from our AirBnB in Sale as we're up north again for the British Soap Awards this weekend. After a long day's drive (and no time for dinner before recording!), we didn't have the energy for news and feedback for this week, so it's a Street Talk only episode this time. Look out for our reactions from the awards over the coming days, though!

This week's podcast really was a case of finding some light in the darkness because by 'eck, wasn't that a grim set of episodes? Not that the scripts or performances were poor or anything, but it just seemed like there wasn't a lot of happiness for anyone! Top of the misery list, of course, was Paul, whose worsening condition causes him to be a bit of a party pooper at the stag and hen do on Wednesday. We just hope that Gemma and Chesney can have a happy wedding next week before the news of Paul's MND spreads further... Overall, we felt this was a bit of a 'treading water' week, to be honest - not necessarily poor episodes (although the heavy focus on Faye and Craig on Friday definitely wasn't that exciting) - but fairly slow plot development or things we felt we'd seen before. Daisy's still pretending to be Crystal, Paul's still wanting to keep his diagnosis a secret, Max is still finding prison life hard, Faye still can't decide whether to leave Craig or not... Sure, the Amy story has taken a bit of a turn, what with Abi now believing her and Eric suing her for her so-called libellous comments about his son, and Linda returning for the run-up to the wedding was fun, but overall.. just not much for us to get our teeth into, discussion-wise! Still, we're only a few weeks away from BGT week, so hopefully there's some exciting stuff on the horizon!

The big news this week, of course, was the official announcement of the Coronation Street Experience including its new exhibition space. Yes, we'd already chatted about that in our recent bonus podcast, but that didn't stop us getting excited about it all over again here! We round off the show with more of your feedback, including a question about which recent episode of Corrie we'd recommend a new viewer start off with.

It may play havoc with the order that we can discuss things on the podcast, but we must admit, we do love it when storylines cross over in unexpected ways. Max ending up being the key to Daniel finding out about Daisy's catfishing malarkey was a neat twist - though it did provide yet more evidence (as if we needed it!) that Daniel really isn't fit to teach... Also this week, Sarah's coquettish faux rebuttals of Damon's advances turned into a full-on Bistro bonkathon on Monday - surely a pregnancy has got to be on the cards now? Meanwhile, Amy discovers Aaron's back with Mia, Paul gets his sentencing date, and Fiz heads off to Norfolk.

We were in a bit of a mad dash to get this recorded today so we had to forego news and feedback to get the episode out on time, but no doubt they'll be back next week!

This week, Paul turns to increasingly desperate measures to get himself out of debt - can Dee Dee help him stay on the straight and narrow, and will she convince him to confide in his family about his diagnosis? Perhaps he should take a tip out of Stephen's book, whose latest scheme to get his hands on a load of cash seems to be to bump off Elaine and claim on her life insurance... or could love rival Owen end up being his next victim instead? Also this week, we get an update on how Max is doing behind bars, Amy struggles to cope when she takes a trip on the bus, and the residents band together to voice their concerns about the late night Bistro opening proposals.

Up next it's The Kabin, where we take a look at the Corrie characters and storylines that have made their way onto the British Soap Awards shortlist, and we finish things off with more listener feedback.

We all knew it was coming, but that didn't stop Paul's diagnosis on Wednesday's episode of Corrie hitting us hard. The young builder is now facing a very difficult, and likely very short, future, and Peter Ash has been fantastic at portraying Paul's grief as he is forced to face up to the fact that he could only have a few years, or even fewer, left. Thank goodness for the lovely friendship he's fostered with Dee Dee, which has been the one shining light in this tale of woe! And speaking of misery, things have been pretty bleak for Amy this week too. Not only does she have to come face to face with Aaron at Nina's birthday party, but she also ends up in hospital after drinking herself unconscious in Victoria Gardens! Thank goodness she had serial passer outer Summer there to share some tips for staying alive! Also this week, Stephen nearly claims a pair of new victims, Hope schemes to come between Sam and Eliza and Eileen regrets encouraging George to find a new hobby...

There were emotional scenes aplenty this week, with the removal of Ryan's dressings and his having to come to terms with his new appearance providing some really excellent telly - just how will he react when he eventually finds out that Daisy is masquerading as Crystal via text to try and keep his spirits up, though? Meanwhile, after months of very much being Eliza do-little, Stu's granddaughter finally gets herself a bit of screen time - and is there a bit of a spark between her and Sam? Hope's not going to be happy when she finds out! Also this week, Jackson and Faye kiss, Kirk walks out on Beth after finding out about her secret meetings with Marco, and despite his secret engagement to Elaine, Stephen definitely seems to be holding a torch for a certain flame-haired landlady...

In The Kabin, we get excited about the upcoming This Morning Coronation special that's being filmed on the cobbles, and we finish things off as always with more of your thoughts on last week's Corrie.

This week, Paul is given the devastating news that his symptoms may be signs of motor neurone disease. That's right, it's time for another tragic Corrie illness storyline! We're sure Peter Ash will do an amazing job with it - and he certainly gave a heart wrenching performance this week - but is this kind of thing really what viewers are wanting to watch right now? Meanwhile, from one sad story to another, the news spreads that Amy is saying she was raped by Aaron. Very interesting to see which characters take which side here.. though we're definitely a bit surprised that some viewers are picking Team Aaron, too..! Also this week, an old friend of Glenda's arrives on the cobbles, Craig is worried about Faye and Jackson's developing friendship, and Damon claims he's turning over a new leaf - but do we believe him?

Christina wasn't wrong when she said that wedding was cursed, was she? In a twist that frankly makes Mavis and Derek's double jilting look like nothing more than a minor hiccup, Justin returned to the cobbles on Monday night, intent on dousing Daisy in acid - but it's poor Ryan that ends up with a faceful of the stuff. Superb performances all round and a brilliant script from Ian Kershaw certainly made Monday's harrowing trip to Weatherfield one we won't be forgetting in a hurry! And to be honest, a lot of the rest of the week was similarly bleak too, especially the Amy storyline, as she opens up about the rape to her family and the police - who, in typical Weatherfield fashion, are able to do very little to keep Aaron of the streets. Meanwhile, Brian finds out he's 8% Italian (and 92% Buffoon?), Michael inadvertently throws a spanner in the works for Stephen at the factory, and Beth has another meet up with Marco - can she resist his charms? 

Kabin time next, and now that the acid attack has taken place, we're finally able to cover Princess Anne's trip to Corrie on behalf of The Acid Survivors Trust International, along with the news that we're obviously thrilled about that Helen Flanagan is to return to our screens in the next series of I'm A Celeb! We round off the show with some of your first reactions to this week's drama - plus a bit of a deep dive into regional variations of Chinny Reckon! - in the feedback section.

All in all, we thought this was a great week on Corrie, with very little in the way of filler or stories that didn't hold our interest. From the hilarious contrast between Daniel's stag and Daisy's hen-do to the sizzling chemistry between Sarah and Damon, we were pretty much glued to our screens all week. But of course, it was Evelyn saying her last goodbye to loyal hound Cerberus that really got us in the feels - losing a beloved pet is an experience so many of us have been though, and Maureen Lipman's performance was pitched perfectly. Also this week, Aaron moves in with Abi, Paul gets some worrying medical news, and Stephen's killer hole punch returns!

What will he do with his new position of power? Only time will tell, but we definitely reckon Rufus should be watching his back... Also this week, smiley Miley bursts onto our screens and Faye's torn about how close she should get to her, Beth's meet-up with Marco makes us think she's a lot more suited to him than Kirk, and Damon's back on the scene to settle an unresolved score with Nick..

This week on Corrie, Amy's shocked to discover exactly what happened between her and Aaron after she passed out on Friday night, and while he's keen for the whole matter to be forgotten, Amy feels understandably violated. Although this storyline didn't get quite as much screen time as we'd expected this week, big props to everyone involved so far! Also this week, Justin gets too close for comfort for Daisy when he lets himself into Number 1 through the back door - but is this enough for the law to listen? Meanwhile, the truth about Beth slapping Hope leads to strife between the Sutherlands, and Tim's thrilled when Jackson shows up at the door with news of Miley - though Faye isn't quite so happy about his return...

Not a whole lot of news this week, so we decided to give the Kabin segment a miss; instead, we just skip to the feedback section after Street Talk for more of your thoughts on last week's eps.

Every so often, you'll get an episode of Corrie that you'll sit in front of thinking, 'What on earth am I watching?' That was us - and presumably countless other viewers! - on Thursday night as we saw the effects of Stephen accidentally taking a massive dose of LSD that was meant for Carla. Now whether or not you actually liked those scenes is another matter entirely - but we have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle, despite it admittedly not exactly being 'Classic Corrie'! This week also saw the start of the consent story, with Aaron taking advantage of a passed out Amy after a night of drunken revelry. Uncomfortable viewing for sure, and we're certainly intrigued to see the after effects next week.

Well what a turnaround that was! After last week's kinda dull offering, we really thought that Corrie was firing on all cylinders this week - and who'd have guessed that Alya of all characters would be the one to do it? From the brilliantly written scenes where she visits Max in prison to the heart-wrenching reading of her victim personal statement, we were totally gripped by the climax of the far right story this week, and for it to also include Shona's return, some lovey character moments between David and Maria and Spider triumphing over Griff made it all the better. Just a shame that Blake's sentencing and Councillor Cameron's comeuppance were rushed through! Also this week, more creepy weirdo stalker stuff from Justin, Stephen sets his sights on taking ownership of the factory, and a reunion for Billy and Paul.

There are a few little bits and bobs for us to cover in The Kabin next in the podcast, including the return of Star Tours at the Corrie Tour, and we round out the show with more of your listener feedback, including an interesting point about Stephen needing a nemesis to scope him out.

We're sorry to say that this was another one of those weeks that didn't do a whole lot for us, unfortunately, and we didn't end up having a whole lot to say about this week's goings on in Weatherfield. There was a definite case of 'seen it all before' with some of the stories - the return of the Billy, Paul and Todd love triangle, hospital scenes aplenty, prison bullies, Alya being a trooper, characters cringing as Brian tries to be trendy.. heck, this is even the third motorbike related mishap we've had in the past twelve months! Did the Hashim story need dredging up again? Did the conclusion of Peter's bartering saga need to be brought to an end in such a quick and convenient fashion? Is the odd catty line here and there the best we're going to get out of Debbie from now on? Hmm.. let's hope things pick up again soon!

Sam and Ryan's lives are on the line this week when two masked gunmen burst into the Bistro, looking for Damon's drugs delivery. Sounds pretty exciting, right? Unfortunately, after the recent bombings, stabbings and deadly hole puncherings that have taken place on the show, there's only so much that something like this can really excite us - but we did at least enjoy the aftermath on Wednesday. Also this week, Sarah and Michael's business idea looks like it's set to take off, but when Carla finds out about them using the factory behind her back, she makes sure it stays well and truly grounded. Meanwhile, Bernie shows off her golf skills, Nina's worried about Roy's phone addiction, and Peter's bartering adventures continue.

Up next in The Kabin, there's a few bits of news related to some ex-Corrie cast members along with the intriguing sounding announcement of a comedy night that's going to be taking place at the new visitor's centre next month. We end the podcast with more of your feedback, including a fascinating insight into the decline of the Nazirs' spirituality from the point of view of a Muslim listener.

A couple of unexpected twists this week: first, Max's plea of guilty at his hearing puts the character in a particularly precarious position - is he actually going to be sentenced to a hefty stretch in the big house, or will the judge be lenient? And the second surprise involved Beth and Hope - Beth's been a pretty obnoxious individual for quite a while now, but there can't have been many viewers who would have predicted she actually did slap that little madam on Wednesday night! Seems like this may well turn into a case of the girl who cried wolf for young Miss Stape (or is she Dobbs now..?). Also this week, Justin's obsessive behaviour gets even more extreme, Gemma comes up with a plan for a wedding on a budget, and Leanne learns the truth about Damon's involvement in the Bistro.

We discuss the evidence! Meanwhile, it's Alya to the rescue again when Blake gets a bit stabby in the Bistro on Wednesday - but will Weatherfield's latest superhero manage to survive the second extremist attack in a month? Also this week, Tyrone and Fiz dress up for a bit of role play, Daisy's mum comes to town, and there's a chinchilla killer on the loose!
