Our 5th and final episode is based upon one of his earlier efforts with the 1977 body horror classick "RABID". Starring Marilyn Chambers and Frank Moore. It's a spine tingling, flesh crawling, teeth chattering story of a motorcyle crash/burn victim that develops a taste for human blood after experimental plastic surgery and the aftermath of her victims that turn into kill crazy zombies. This is a legendary cult film, which spawned a much belated sequel in 2017 titled Death Race 2050 and a remake starring Jason Statham in 2008 (which had its own series of straight to video sequels). It's a truly ridiculous satire tale of a dystopian future where a the new national sport is a cross country road race where the drivers collect points by running down pedestrians. Sound wacky? We've got homicidal maniacs that won't stay in the grave, sci-fi epics whose stories cannot be told in a single tale, and much much more. For our 25th episode, we are talking about one of the strangest sequels/remakes/requels in history with "DEADLOCK 2" from 1995, (AKA Wedlock 2, AKA Deadlocked: Escape From Zone 14). This sequel to the original Wedlock from 1991 starring Rutger Hauer (that we already reviewed for Rutger Hauer Appreciation Month) is cleverly disguised as a sequel...but it's a reamke, or is it a requel? We'll leave it up to you to decide how the hell this got made in the first place. This straight to cable mischief stars Esai Morales, Nia Peeples, and Stephen McHattie. In short, it's about a thief framed for a crime he did not commit and is then sent to a futuristic prison with a bomb strapped around his neck. Sound crazy...because it is. Coming up next in the dystopian and action mayhem in our 7th and final episode is a rather obscure Italian flick with 1984's "RATS: NIGHT OF TERROR" from directors Bruno Mattei (aka Vincent Dawn) and an uncredited Claudio Fragasso, who were both also co-writers on this cheesefest. This romp tells of a nuclear bomb ravaged future where most people in the world live underground, but one group of scavengers go to the surface and find a secret abandoned lab plagued with secrets and KILLER RATS! The main cast portrayed by Ottaviano Dell'Acqua, Geretta Geretta, Massimo Vanni, Gianni Franco and many more Italian film stars of that era all under various aliases. This movie has an ending that is both shocking and hard to believe. Coming up next in the dystopian and action mayhem in our 6th episode is a rather obscure sports themed flick with 1989's "THE BLOOD OF HEROES" from writer/director David Webb Peoples (writer of Blade Runner, Leviathan, Ladyhawke, and the Oscar winning Unforgiven). This feature tells of a future where the majority of technology and people have been wiped out and the remaining inhabitants and their sole entertainment is a sport called Jugging...a violent game played with the skull of a dog. The main lead played by the late Rutger Hauer, with the supporting cast portrayed by Joan Chen, Vincent D'Onofrio, Delroy Lindo, and Hugh Keays-Byrne. We foloow our core group as they travel the wastelands from game to game, leading to one of the only few cities where they long to play in the official league. Coming up next in the dystopian and action mayhem in our 5th episode is an Italian double feature of 1982's "1990; THE BRONX WARRIORS" and it's 1983 sequel "ESCAPE FROM THE BRONX" from legendary director Enzo G. Castellari (Warriors of the Wasteland, Inglorious Bastards, The Last Shark, Keoma , The Heroin Busters and dozens more!) These films tell of the desolate future of 1990 where the Bronx has become an all out warzone ruled only by the street gangs that still inhabit the crumbling city. At the center of this mayhem is the unofficial leader of the gangs Trash (portrayed by the late Mark Gregory from the Thunder trilogy and Delta Force Commando). In supporting roles we have Fred 'The Hammer' Williamson, Vic Morrow, Henry Silva, George Eastman and many others. These two movies have to be seen to be believed. Our 3rd episode is on an eccentric action tale with 1983's "WARRIORS OF THE YEAR 2072" from Italian maestro director Lucio Fulci. Known also as The New Gladiators, Rome 2033 - The Fighter Centurions, Rome, 2072 A.D. and many other titles. Starring Jared Martin, Fred 'The Hammer' Williamson, Al Cliver and Eleonora Brigliadori. It's an odd tale of the post-apocalyptic world of 2072 (or 2033 depending on which version you're watching) where our characters fight in new age televised Gladiator style duels to the death for ratings. Sound familiar...maybe a little bit like The Running Man perhaps? Well, don't let that fool you because this film predates the Arnold Schawarzenegger classic by a couple of years. The usual inventive camera work, crazy special effects, impressive Simon Boswell score and a tight script written by George Eastman makes this film quite the delight. This spy espionage adventure is star studded with such actors as Chris Sarandon, Dennis Hopper, Craig T. Nelson, Meg Foster, Burt Lancaster and John Hurt. Based off the Robert Ludlum novel the film was plagued with production troubles, including an ailing Peckinpah directing from his death bed (this would be his final film) this action drama is so convoluted that it's amazing that it was ever finished in the first place. Wedlock follows Frank (Hauer) a man convicted of stealing millions in diamonds after being double crossed by his partners and landing in a futuristic prison where each prisoner is randomly linked to each other and bound with explosive collars. If they are separated by more than 100 yards the collars kill both inmates. This science fiction and comedy hybrid has to be seen to be believed! We're still going full steam ahead and continuing the festivities with Episode Ten and the incomparable masterpiece from 1974 "MADHOUSE." This tale about legendary horror movie actor Paul Toombes being terrorized into believing that his Doctor Death character may just be manifesting in the flesh was the last of the American International Pictures and Vincent Price collaborative efforts that spanned decades. Madhouse is a very meta tale that manages to bring back horror stalwarts Basil Rathbone and Boris Karloff back from the grave to join their compadres Price, Peter Cushing and Robert Quarry for one last silver screen romp. In this week's episode, we explore the 1982 science-fiction horror film THE THING. We bring back writer/director/filmmaker Daniel Goad as we follow a research team in Antarctica that is hunted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of it's victims. Macready (Kurt Russell) is set on the arduous task of determining who from his crew has been assimilated by The Thing and who remains human. The team members' (Wilford Brimley, T.K. Carter, David Clennon, and Keith David to name some) paranoia threatens to tear them apart before The Thing can.

Our episode today is devoted to a favorite at Cinema Degeneration: the 1981 science-fiction action film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK. Join us as we escape into the near future world (of 1997) where the President of the United States (Donald Pleasence) crashes into Manhattan, which now serves as a giant maximum security prison. A convicted bank robber, Snake Plisskin (Kurt Russell) is given 24 hours to rescue the president in order to receive a pardon. He runs into a plethora of eccentric characters along the way played by Lee Van Cleef, Ernest Borgnine, Isaac Hayes, Harry Dean Stanton, Tom Atkins, and Adrienne Barbeau!

Our host Cameron Scott welcomes Jason Arthur for a breakdown of this iconic flick. Jason is a paranormal investigator, cryptozoologist, producer (LEP Productions), and fellow podcaster (Stirring the Pot). We are offering up an all new themed show for your listening pleasures today! The pilot episode of this show is called the 'Creature Feature Dinner Theater' which will star host Cameron Scott and his wife/co-host Patty Scott. Cameron and Patty met 10 years ago at the Cinema Wasteland Movie & Memorabilia Expo, so not only was it love at first sight but both parties knew the others love for the horror genre was genuine. Which brings us to the show we're premiering today. The Creature Feature Dinner Theater will not only feature nasty monsters, sharks, wild animals, aliens, creatures, goblins and ghouls...but we will also be concocting a special drink and/or meal to go with the movie for the evening. Our first feature is the Frank Henenlotter directed 1988 splatter classic "Brain Damage". Check it out for the movie review/dissection and the recipe for our special "Aylmer's Juice" adult beverage.
