Cigars didn’t just become part of Scott’s story, they changed it. For years, he lived inside a secret world few ever see, smuggling Cuban cigars into the U.S in the 90's, cutting deals in Havana, and moving boxes worth more than gold.

New York is trying to pass the Assembly Bill 3907 (A 3907), which proposes to ban the sale of premium cigars in the state.

VIA The Cigar Rights Of America: "As it stands, A 3907 is drafted too broadly, unfairly categorizing premium cigars as flavored tobacco products despite their lack of artificial flavorings or enhancements. To protect freedom of choice and prevent harm to small businesses, A 3907 must be appropriately amended to define the properties of premium cigars and exempt them from the bill. If A 3907 isn't amended, the banning of premium cigars that will be the result of the bill will undermine consumer rights and devastate the livelihoods of local premium cigar retailers in New York, whose businesses rely on these products."

The premium cigar industry has finally filed its opposition brief after facing multiple delays. The brief contests the government's appeal in the nearly eight-year-old legal battle over FDA regulation of premium cigars (Cigar Association of America et al. v. FDA et al.).

In a major win for cigar enthusiasts last August, Judge Mehta ruled in favor of three cigar industry groups suing the FDA. Judge Mehta found the FDA didn't adequately consider public comments before creating regulations for "premium cigars"—high-quality, handcrafted cigars without added flavors. As a result, these premium cigars were exempt from FDA oversight, including testing requirements, fees, and restrictions on promotions and donations.

Some states recently changed their laws again tobacco - for better and for worse.

North Dakota now allows cigar lounges to legally operate. New Mexico caps the cigar tax at 50 cents, as does Idaho. Texas bans the use of tobacco on ALL college campuses. Kansas increases the legal age to purchase tobacco from 18 to 21, following the federal law.

How he lost many people in his lifetime from various events which include the 1999 Kosovo War and his brother. How cigars brought him back to life after the loss of his brother and EVEN being on the ground level of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center.

With the extensive experiences and struggles Bek has gone through, he is more know for being the former king of the New York Nightlife, a motivational speaker and even a podcaster. His podcast The Come Back Team is about helping others by sharing what he knows about this life through his own experiences. The cigar industry takes home a BIG W! The FDA wrongly decided to deem premium cigars, based on an alleged lack of evidence in the administrative record of different usage patterns for premium cigar consumers, when in fact there was such evidence submitted by the CRA.

The Court (Judge Mehta) found that there was relevant record evidence on premium cigar usage and the FDA failed to adequately consider the submitted comments and data.
