Yes, It's that time again. It's my second annual spooktacular Halloween show. Today I have The Ghost Guy, Tom Ogden and we discuss Haunted Hollywood. There seems to be a whole population of ghosts haunting their old stomping grounds. We discuss ghostly sightings of Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Clift, Haunted Hotels, Clifton Webb, Peg Entwistle AKA The Hollywood sign girl and much more. I asked Tom a question that has puzzled me since the beginning, after being haunted by my sheet covered brothers and them saying boo. Why Boo?? Tom wasn't sure but he googled it for me. I'll link you to an answer. THere's gotta be more..

Michelle and I talk about the Showtime docuseries Murder In The Bayou. It is based on The New York Times Best selling book of the same name. It's about 8 unsolved murders in Jefferson Parish Louisiana. The Women are called The Jefferson 8. The women were literally from the wrong side of the tracks. The train tracks split the poor and the upper middle class. It's like two different worlds. Each woman was a drug addict, sold their bodies for drugs and knew a man you'll get to know and be sickened by, Frankie Richard. He was a pimp, a crack addict and real vile piece of human excrement.

Part 1 introduces us to the life of the first four victims and their deaths. WE see the poverty, the devastating toll of drug abuse and it is not an easy watch. These women came from horrible poverty and the majority of their parents were also addicted to drugs. A very vicious cycle. Stay with us as we recap the episodes and comment on the basic feeling that these women were dregs of society and who cares if they were murdered

Michelle and I talk about the 2 part HBO documentary Who Killed Garrett Phillips. It focuses on the main suspect Nick Hillary. Nick was black and he lived with 12 year old Garretts mom Tandy for a year, her other son and three of Nicks children lived with them as well. They broke up after a year because her kids did not like Nick, especially Garrett. He was getting a lot of teasing about his white mom living with a black man. Nick was one of the very few black people in the town of Potsdam, New York. He was a respected soccer coach at one of the universities. Garrett was murdered sometime between 440 and 520 pm. He was playing basketball and his mom called to tell him to come home. The neighbors heard what sounded like a "No" or "Help" They called the police. When the cop got there he found Garrett barely breathing in his moms room. He died later that night. He was strangled. At first they thought it might have been an accidental strangling with other kids involved. The knock out game was popular then. Its when you strangle yourself to the point of near unconsciousness . Soon we meet Tandy's ex boyfriend cop John Jones, that she dumped for Nick. Tandy had a restraining order against Jones for fear he could hurt her or her children, he had also pushed her. He was also furious for being dumped by Tandy for a black man. It's a true whodunnit, it is still not known. We go over the theories, was Nick singled out because he was black. Or did he get away with murder. We take you through the documentary. There is a chilling video you see in part 2.

I did a podcast over a year ago with Caroles biographer Eric Gans, and we covered Caroles whole short life. April and I discuss her career, her marriages, Rex Harrison and ultimately her suicide. Some people, even Caroles relatives think Rex had a hand in her death. WE discuss it all.

I had such a wonderful time talking to Victoria Riskin, daughter of Fay Wray and screenwriter Robert Riskin. They both had amazing lives prior to meeting. Then incredible lives together. Fay going with her sisters beau to Hollywood at FOURTEEN!. He was entrusted with Fays care. He had her living with a respectable family. Her mom made way to Fay after a psychic reading saying Fay was in trouble with guy. Fay was not delighted to have mom back, but still started doing silent movies in her teens. We talk King Kong. Fay had to scream for eight hours straight on a sound stage. Fay has been called the first scream queen. She was so much more then the babe King Kong fell in love with. She did a lot of horror type films, but she did a lot of other straight rolls. Her first husband was a trip. She was so young and so patient. Robert came to Hollywood after being a successful Broadway producer. He was screenwriter of so many films, Illicit, The Miracle Woman, Ann Carvers profession (it starred Fay but they never met) , Mr Deeds Comes To Town, Meet John Doe, Lost Horizon and so many more. He had a long partnership with Frank Capra. He dated Carole Lombard and Glenda Farrell. Fay left her husband after many horrible stunts he pulled. He was an alcoholic and drug addict. He kidnapped their daughter twice. After their divorce he hung himself. She got involved with Clifford Odets but he wanted no part of marriage to Fay. A matchmaking pal set up Fay with Robert and the rest was history. There is so much we got too. We could have gone on longer. So much we didn't get to. The book is fabulous. It's a wonderful Hollywood memoir.

Author Sara Jordan-Heintz is back to talk about one of the subjects in her book Going Hollywood:Midwesterners In Movieland, actress Jean Seberg. Jean was from Sara's hometown. Jean was discovered in a countrywide search to star in Otto Premingers Saint Joan. She was chosen a month before her eighteenth birthday. She had only acted in High School plays prior to her discovery. She got bad notices for her portrayal of Joan. She did another film Bonjour Tristesse where she got pretty bad notices. She really broke out when she was cast in Jean-Luc Godard's landmark film Breathless. It started new wave cinema in France.

Jean had a stormy life. Was married three time. She fell in love with Clint Eastwood while they were filming Paint Your Wagon. He dumped her when filming was over. For him it was just a film fling.

Jean caught the eye of J Edgar Hoover when she donated to The Black Panthers for feeding underprivileged children in a breakfast program. He then set out to destroy Jean. He tapped her phones, had huge files on her, and when she got pregnant he coordinated with some publishers to tell the masses Jean was having a Black Panthers baby. He advised waiting until Jean was showing, then L.A. times gossip columnist Joyce Haber published the article as did Newsweek. Soon after Jean lost the baby prematurely. She, feeling the pressure took her daughter in a glass casket to an Iowa church and had a showing for two days so people could see the baby was white. Jean tried to kill herself every year on the baby's birthday. It's a fascinating story and shows how much power J Edgar Hoover had in destroying lives. Jeans was truly tragic.

I talk to my friend Leah Williams from the blog Cary Grant Won't Eat You. We discuss two performers that worked together and changed their personas and lived it. Cary Grant was quoted as saying "Everyone wants to be Cary Grant...I want to be Cary Grant." The little sad boy Archie Leach disappeared into this cool, suave, handsome and incredibly gifted actor.
Mae was born Mary Jane West in Brooklyn New York. She was in vaudeville and found her persona. The wisecracking dame that wants to know is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me. Mae ate, drank, talked, walked Mae West until her death at the age of 87. We talk about a documentary we both saw on her. Mae really believed that she was the tomato with the mostest. When she did the awful Myra Breckinridge, Mae noted that Raquel Welch was pretty and asked one of her muscle men what he personally thought of Mae, he said Raquel was very pretty but couldn't hold a candle to the 77 year old Mae. Mae was very satisfied with his answer. In her last film Sextette Mae was 84 but playing a 27 year old. You gotta love her. Her love interest was Timothy Dalton was 31.
We also talk Cary's jaunts into the world of LSD. He took many trips and we wonder how he came out unscathed.

We both love these two wonderful performers. Fun show.

Lauren talks openly about her relationship with her abuser. They were friends first, then they fell in love with each other. Hear how it went from a smack in the face while in a car, to being strangled. Prior to leaving him, no one knew she was being abused which is not unusual. You want to protect the abuser because you love them, its gonna get better, it'll never happen again. There is also the embarrassment of people knowing you stay with your abuser. It could never happen to someone like her, or you. Yes it could. After 7 days of his pleading and promises she went back to him. It was all Daisys and rainbows for a while, then boom. She was lucky to get out. She never went back. She told us the average number of times it takes a woman to get out of a relationship...7 times. Did she get a restraining order. The answer to this question was not what we expected. Give a listen. Lots to learn and beware of men who want to cut you off from friends and families, criticize what you wear because he thinks its too sexy and is all around controlling.

Michelle and I are true crime buffs. I started watching The Act on Hulu. Loved it, I had also seen the HBO documentary. I told Michelle about it and she watched the documentary. This is a very sad and bizarre case. Michelle says Gypsy scares her. I say he needs tons of mental health counseling when she's released from prison. Gypsy has now lived in two controlled environments. How will she deal with it without counseling. Gypsy is also engaged and plans to be married and have children when she is released into her knight in Shining Armor's arms. Was there a way out for Gypsy besides murdering the crazy Dee Dee??

Michelle after watching Gypsy documentary then watched There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane. Thats another heartbreaking documentary. If you don't know about that case be prepared for anger and tears. Grab a cup of coffee or wine and join us for a listen.

I talk to John William Law about his book The Moviestar and The Mobster:Lana Turner, Johnny Stompanato, And Murder In The Pink Bedroom. I find this case fascinating and think if its not Hollywoods biggest scandal it' s in the top 5. We discuss Lanas lurid affair with one of Mickey Cohen's low level hoods, Johnny Stompanato. He wooed Lana with flowers and phone calls until she finally agreed to meet him. I'm sure she rued the day. After the meeting they were a couple. After a while Lana found out John Steele was really Johnny Stompanato. She got through that, but did not want Johnny seen as her paramour. She thought people would think he was her paid escort. Johnny would lavish Lana with jewelry and other gifts. He of course used her money to pay for them. Such a romantic guy. They had a tempestuous affair. Lots of yelling, physical brutality and then passionate makeup sex. Lana loved the sense of danger. Lana flew to England to make a movie with Sean Connery and the gossip rags insinuated that Sean and Lana were more then costars, enraging Johnny. I heard he flew out there without Lanas knowledge, but actually Lana paid for his ticket. He stayed in her little cottage then made his way to the set with gun in hand threatening Sean Connery. The English police kicked him out of the country. When Lana got home they went on a trip to Mexico. The nail in Johnnys coffin was when Lana got nominated for best actress for her role in Peyton Place. Her escort was not to be Johnny, they were her daughter Cheryl and Lanas mom. Johnny steamed. They stayed late and went to after partys. The end of this saga is told and its a doozy.

She tells us the in's and outs, why they ask for shoe sizes in applications, what's a brown shower, figure it out, yuck. We find out what kind of women worked as dominatrix and what was the clientele like. I think you'll be surprised, or maybe not. Stavroula was very honest and open. You will learn about the dominatrix life. Stavroula has a TV show called Switch that she, stars in, along with academy award winner Olympia Dukakis and Cady McClain. It is a depiction of the life of dominatrixes and their ups and downs. Why does it hurt so good?? PS to Stavroula, even us 82 year old broads can be dominatrixs too.. ; )

I had such a good time talking to Author April Vevea about Jayne Mansfield and her photo book about Jayne, Puffblicity. Jayne was a trip. She was certainly unique. Part 1 Covers her early life and her quest to become the bombshell with the mostest. We talk her never ending quest for puffblicity, meeting Mickey Hargitay and stealing him from Mae West. I found out she really said divoon and was she really poor in her unfurnished pink palace and so much more..Part two gets into the sixties and Jaynes sad decline and eventual death.

It's part 2 of my chat with April Vevea about her book Puffblicity and Jayne Mansfield.
This episode deals with the late 50's until her death in 1967 at the age of 34. We talk Jaynes divorce from Mickey Hargitay., her second brief marriage, her horrible meeting with The Beatles, her starring in film and doing nude scenes. I never knew Jaynes playboy spread was the highest selling playboy to this day. The mid sixties are trying times for Jayne as she takes up drinking. She finally goes to small dinner clubs and after one of her shows, she and her posse head to New Orleans, but never make it after the car crashes into a truck and literally goes under it. April fills us in on the truth about her death, was she or wasn't she a Satanist and the final battle of the husbands. Very interesting stuff. Her follow up to Puffblicity covering the sixties will be out very soon.

Then "NO DADDY." We wonder what is wrong with these hundreds of freakazoid women that send him love notes and bikini shots. Also the weirdos that think mass murderer Ted Bundy was 'hot'. You will be happy (ha) to know Chris Watts found God. Amazing 99% do after committing heinous crimes. We also talk my docs appointment and Michelles upcoming trip to Hawaii. I'm so jealous. She will teach me to his though.

Our guest is Laura Martin and she was fab. Laura was such a good sport calling us at 10:30 pm from Thailand. We talked her website healing to happy and talked about services she provided. Laura has been through much of what her clients contact her about. Bulimia, depression, obsessive exercising, losing your period, and trigger words. It's amazing that in the eating disorder world, telling someone they look healthy, means fat. Laura helps with rewiring negative thoughts. Since she has been on this journey herself, it makes her very easy for her clients to relate to. We ask Laura why Thailand? Who are her clients and lots more. Three of us commiserate on body dysmorphia, which means seeing yourself either fatter or thinner then you are. We all see ourselves larger than we are. Unfortunately that seems the norm for women. We talk about developing bedtime routines to help with insomnia. We also talk clean eating and how to be healing to happy.

I talked to Rock Hudson Biographer Mark Griffen about his new book All That Heaven Allows: Rock Hudson A Biography. His book takes us through Rocks childhood, his struggling days in L.A. to him meeting Henry Wilson, agent to a stable of pretty boys. He took on Rock and eventually, after roles as Indians and small parts Rock achieved superstardom from the Douglas Sirk film Magnificent Obsession. Rock was reunited with Jane Wyman in one of my fave Rock movies, All That Heaven Allows. Who could pass up the deliciously nasty Mona Plasch..We talk about Rocks personal life being in the closet. Confidential magazine was going to out Rock as gay so allegedly Henry Wilson gave them Rory Calhoun was a jailbird..I couldn't imagine they'd trade for that. It looks like Henry Wilson threw Tab Hunter under the bus in an article about a boys PJ party raided by the police. As Rock was nearing 30 the rags would wonder if Rock would finally settle down, or was something wrong with him. At thirty Henry Wilson arranged dating and a marriage between Rock and Henrys secretary Phyllis Gates. Phyllis claimed she had NO IDEA Rock was gay. You will find out more that Phyllis did. Matt talked all Rocks best movies, Rocks loves and how horrible it must have been for Rock to lead a double life. He had to be very trusting and careful that none of his past loves had compromising pictures or letters from him. I can't imagine what that did to him emotionally and physically. We wind our way down to Rocks TV career to Rock finding out he had the Aids virus. He had a blotch on his neck and was actually diagnosed by his dermatologist. We talk the famous Linda Evans, Rock kiss and Rocks final days. Rock was the first famous person to put a face to AIDS . Especially such a beloved one. This is broken into three parts. Matt is fabulous and my heart went out to Rock. I'm not the only person to think the book was wonderful. Universal, Rocks old studio optioned the book to be a major motion picture.

In Part 3 Rocks movie career is fizzing out so he moves to television. He did 5 years in a series called McMillan and Wife. He meets Marc Christian and falls in love and moves him into his house. Rock notices a weird spot on his neck so he goes to see what is was. The dermatologist is the one that diagnosed him with AIDs Rock went back and forth to France for experimental treatments. We talk Rocks last days.

WE TALK TRUE CRIME.. NETFLIX DOCUMENTARIES MAKING A MURDERER, THE STAIRCASE AND THE AMANDA KNOX STORY..

We are both True Crime addicts. We talk about a few great documentaries on Netflix. First up Making A Murderer Season 2. We discussed guilt or innocence. The bizarre investigation. Brendan Dassey's confession. Also never have a lawyer that works with the prosecution AND wears high-water pants..It's unbelievable how many blogs and podcasts take on this subject. It is a fascinating case. We do not want to forget Theresa Halbach, the young woman that was murdered.

Then we go onto The Staircase. I saw the trial on Court TV in dribs and drabs..BTW Court TV will be back in May. Did Michael Peterson murder his wife or did she really just trip and fall down the stairs. He's quite the character. Its got 13 episodes but its worth the watch. They were known as having the "perfect" marriage and they never fought. No one really knows what goes on in a marriage. The prosecution said the motive was Kathleens Insurance Policy (they were experiencing money problems) and her finding out that night that Michael was trying to arrange trysts with men. Peterson said Kathleen knew about his bi-sexuality. If you see the crazy amount of blood in the hallway it's hard to imagine she was not bludgeoned. A new theory came to light...an owl did it. It's filled with twists and turns.

Finally we talk Amanda Knox. We both agreed she's a cold kinda gal but does that make her a murderer? Her documentary is only one part..

There was a renewed interest in The Menendez Murders because of Law and Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders. Robert was a consultant for the show. Robert tells us of his visits with Lyle and Eriks Aunt Marta, and his meetings with both brothersbeforethey were arrested. He also spoke to them a lot when they were in jail. He even became a part of the story. Robert sat next to the famous crime writer Dominick Dunne during both trials. I had a great time talking movies with my friend Leah who has the fabulous blog, Cary Grant Won't Eat You.. We talked obsessive love. Poor Edward G Robinson in Scarlet Street. Claude Rains obsessive and blinded by love feelings for Alicia played by Ingrid Bergman. Cary Grant was not very nice to Ingrid until the end of the movie.We also talked Suspicion and Lina's obsession with Johnny. Did Johnny kill the wonderful Beeky, and why did he need an untraceable poison if he was going to kill himself. We talk the book and the changes they made for the movie that Alfred Hitchcock was not happy with. One tidbit in the book is that Cary/Johnny had a fling with the maid Ethel. Maybe that's why she got the fox fur stole and Beeky only got a walking stick. We also discuss the ending that was a huh?? WE then got into another Hitchcock film talking about Mrs Danvers incredibly unhealthy obsession with the late Mrs de Winter also known as Rebecca. Who can forget her creepily showing the new Mrs de Winter Rebeccas see through lingerie. Maxim was not very nice to wife number 2 with no name. It looks like he eventually stops being a pompous poop at the end.. It was a fast moving fun show

We Speak To Writer Spencer Jones About What It’s Like To Go To A NYC Sex Party…

Donnie and I were reunited and it felt so good..Not only were we in the house so was our guest, writer Spencer Jones. She wrote an article on what its like to attend a Sex party in NYC. Yes, I read it and I thought what a great guest she'd be and I was right. We talk the do's and don'ts of applying to join the group. What its like inside the place and various different rooms. Spencer tells us about the symbian and whats its like to ride it. They put fresh plastic after each ride and you must wear a piece of clothing on your nether regions while you ride em cowgirl..Men, sorry, you need a woman with you to enter. Single men are a no no. They have rules and have monitors keeping an eye on the crowd to make sure things are AOK. You can not just watch a couple, you must ask permission.
The funny part of the interview was Donny. He was NEVER so engaged with a guest. He introduced her by name, had actually READ the article I sent him and asked her most of the questions. He had popcorn and was chowing down like a monster hound in between words. He was leaning into Spencer the whole show and his face was beet red. I swear he was drooling. I truly think that was not a gun in his pocket and he was glad to see Spencer. I needed to hose that guy down. It was all in good fun as we three drank wine and laughed a lot. When Donnie left the room he pointed to me and him and said we are going with Spencer. He's a Donnie on a mission. Sex Party or bust..

We opened with some serious talk about the importance of getting mammograms. Also teen suicide. How it can be very hard for parents to see the signs. Then we got onto the midterm elections, a woman making major change selling her smelly socks and shoes. We discussed starting up a stinky undies biz. HA!! We were just joking.....really..I think.. Also Oprah canvassing for Stacey Abrams In Georgia, Justin Bieber has the blues (I hope its not about being a lizard man) a woman that got breast implants because her creepy ex boyfriend said he didn't like her body. What was worse was when she moved her arms her boobs sounded like she was farting..Tons more.

I had such a fabulous time talking to Meredith Ponedel about her Aunt Dorothy Ponedel. Dorothy was the first female makeup artists under contract at a Hollywood Studio. She became friends with many of her clients. Marlene Dietrich, Carole Lombard ,Barbara Stanwyck, Joan Blondell, Paulette Goddard, Gary Cooper. There are so many wonderful stories. Her aunt started writing her memoir but never finished. Meredith did a fabulous job of putting it all together. Meredith describes her life with Aunt Dottie and her own thoughts on the stars she met personally. there is part 2 about the friendship between Dottie and Judy Garland..I got a huge scoop I had never heard before and learned a new meaning for the word yummy. This is an interview for any classic movie fan. So much behind the scenes info. Meredith takes us back into the land of Classic Hollywood. Any documentary filmmakers Dottie is a story to be told.Thanks so much for Meredith getting up 6 AM to do this interview. You were so fabulous and funny..

What a story. The book is so compelling. I read it in one sitting. Romola is very honest about her life with her dad Marty Hodas, Times Squares King Of Porn. She also survived having a mentally ill mother. As the oldest she became the protector of her sisters and brother. She takes us on a journey that makes you feel you are living it with her. She talks the swingers parties her folks would have while the kids were home. Meeting the women behind the peep booths and so much more. She is so honest. Very good listen.

Reverend Lydia Sohn joins us on The Broads Way Show and we discuss her article What It's Like To Be Ninty Something..She was a pastor at a church with a mostly aging congregation. Lydia was not sure she could help them or reach out to them on common ground. One day Lydia was couseling an 80 something women when she asked Rev Lydia what to do, she was in love with a married man. She was surprised but it led her to ask her older parishoners what they most regret, what they fear most, and still longing for romantic love. Its all very interesting and totally relatable. I knew of a woman that found the love of her life at an assisted living place. She was 87 years old. They were together until my dear friend "Pop" (her true love) died 4 yeats later at the age of 91.

This is a really good listen, you just might be surprised at some of their answers.

We want to thank Rev. Lydia for coming on the show. She was warm and very easy to talk to.

We spoke to author Teresa Colon from the blog the wounded bird ministry. I found an article she wrote on Medium titled "What Is Normal" I loved it and she kindly agreed to come on. We talked about "normal" and she told us about her fight with bi-polar depression. We also talked about is Social media good for people that are depressed and so much more. Depression is finally being talked about openly, instead of hiding like its something shameful. Mental illness is not called illness for nothing. There are different variations of mental illness. There is a difference between major depressive disorder and situational depression. We talk about that too. Its a good podcast for people suffering from mental illness and loved ones. Its a good listen in general. We all need to know more about this disease. She also wrote a great article on what not to say to people suffering from depression. Teresa has a website for everyone, not just christians. Its got so much great info and also all her writings.

I had so much fun talking to author John Dileo about his book Ten Movies At A Time: A 350-Film Journey Through Hollywood And America 1930-1970. We talked almost two hours about the movies and his book and we did not not get even get out of the forties. Thats a lot of movies. I cut into two parts for easier listening. John knows his movies, his reviews are very good. He does not mince words, if he loves you he loves you, if he does not like an actor or movie we know it. Adolphe Menjou and Barbara Stanwyck.?!? It's also a historical telling of the movies that were popular during certain periods of American History. It is a fun book. I loved it. John was a great guest and he will be back on to discuss other books he's written.

I speak to Author Stone Wallace about his great biography of George Raft- The Man That Would Be Bogart. I was not the biggest George Raft fan but I thought he was fascinating. After reading his bookI felt I knew George and liked him a lot. He was a complex man. He was sensitive, insecure and one hell of a dancer. We talk his hardscrabble upbringing in Hells Kitchen. How he got into dancing. When and how he got into movies. The broads and dames he loved and lost. I truly felt sad for George. His hanging with gangsters made his life harder then need be. My armchair shrink thinks he wanted away from these guys but was afraid of what they might do. We talk it all.

Donnie could not be at my interview with Ed Asner so I got Ed all to myself. I adore Ed and was beyond thrilled to speak to him. We talked about Ed being the only man to have won seven nighttime Emmys, five were for playing Lou Grant. I found out he really did like spunk. We talked MTM, and all the gang, his real life date with Mary, his activism, his toes and my worrying that I could not do the Heimlich maneuver long distance as Ed was chomping on werthers. He was funny, smart, adorable and somehow in between we got engaged. If you love Ed Asner this is for you.

Ironic that we have social media, so many ways to contact peiople yet people are so lonely. Social media makes it very easy to avoid in person contact with people. I'm amazed at when there is person tobperson in the same room people text and constantly check their phone. Good for Theresa May for trying to help with this very important issue. We talk lots more..

I had the pleasure of talking to Gary Meese two times. We have 2 podcasts devoted to this still contoversialcase after 25 years. The poor boys that were murdered at age 8 would now be 33. Its such a horrible story.

We talk why he thinks that Damien Echols, Jessie Miskelley and Jason Baldwin are guilty. We talk the other suspects and the Alford plea. There is so much info out there on this website http://callahan.mysite.com/wm3/img/exh500.html. This case became a cause celeb after the HBO documentary Paradise Lost. HBO did two other documentaries on the case. West Of Memphis was produced by Damien and one of his famous supporters Peter Jackson. There was a movie made that was pro West Memphis 3, not guilty and numerous books pro and con. Gary knows much about this case.

I'd like to say the names of the three boys that were brutally murdered. Stevie Branch, Michael Moore and Chris Byers that had their lives brutally taken from them. It breaks my heart. Often times the only three mentioned are Damien, Jessie and Jason. Its all about these three i8 year old boys.

I had my dear pal Poseidon from the very funny blog Poseidons Underground as my co-host. We were delighted to have the very busy Kathy Garver, best known as Cissy in Family Affair. Kathy started acting at three years old. She was in some pretty big flicks. She was the double for Pearl, the adorable tyke being menaced by one of my dreamboats Robert Mitchum In Night Of The Hunter Kathy was in the boat scene when they are floating away from their moms murderer and their fiendish stepfather. She told us about her memories of Robert Mitchum, Charles Laughton, who directed this film and never directed again. Also we head what a sweetie Lillian Gish was. It was not well received at the time but today it is considered a great film and that Charles Laughton did a great job. The cinematography was amazing. Then she told us about her scene in The Bad Seed she did with Shelley Fabares calling Rhoda (Patty McCormick) a murderer. The scene got cut. She was devastated and her mom wisely told her the scene was too good and they did not want them upstaging Rhoda. It worked. After The Bad Seed she played a slave girl in The Ten Commandments and told us about the actors there. We finally got To Family Affair. WE talked Brian Keith AKA as Uncle Beeeyooooo. Sebastian Cabot and the adorable cherubs Buffy and Jody. Poseidon told us he does not write sad stuff but did for Family Affair. We talked the amazing guest stars, Ida Lupino, Myrna Loy (who Knew) and Heather Angel as Mr French's veddy english nanny Miss Haverstraw. I taled to Poseidon on an earlier podcast that the saddest major fiml actor on one of the shows was Dana Andrews. He appeared as a Friend of Beeyooooo and they moppets found out he was in the slammer for a bit for stealing money from his company. The horror part was Buffy and Jody decide to hide their piggy banks from Dana, the thief..Poor Dana had to watch these two kids talking about him as they hide their piggy banks. His face.. Kathy had to leave us after a half an hour so Poseidon and I talked more about some of these things.Also my love for David Selby. Rumors etc.. I had a great time talking to Lisa Iannucci about her book On Location: A FILM AND TV LOVERS TRAVEL GUIDE. She told me about attending The Lucille Ball Festival in Lucy's hometown of Jamestown, New York . I so want to go and stomp some grapes. She and her very game hubby took it on and had a blast. We talked Clark Gables house and hometown, The Ava Gardner Museum, The Hollywood Museum that has so much great classic movie memorabilia. The Gone with the Wind Museum, the Andy Griffith museum, who knew, there is even a Don Knotts museum. Theres an Alfred Hitchcock Walking tour and of course visiting the graves of the stars. She has all great places to visit in the United States in State alphabetical order. There are a ton of great places I'd like to check out. She gives all the info you need. She got to Bedrock and slid down a huge dinosaurs tale. FUN!! I highly recommend Lisa's book. There are so many places you would never know about. She is even going to do a second book because there are so many places.

She wants to know so she took his D.N.A. and sent to lab to find out. Apollo is gorgeous whatever he is. Will she feel differently if he is a mixed breed?? is it really worth sixty bucks to find out? We talked about article woman wrote about giving her hubby a B.J. everyday. She said it takes five minutes of her day to make hubby happy. Is it true that a BJ a day keeps the lawyers away? We are excite that in a few weeks we will be having guests again. YAY!!

On another note. I lost my big bro to cancer on Sunday July 15th. Rest In Peace my dear brother. This song is dedicated to my brother. He liked Madonna..Who knew...I loved him now and until I die.

I had a great time talking to Leah Williams from the blog Cary Grant Won't EAT YOU.. I love that title. I had read a post she did on Villain Steven Dallas from Stella Dallas. It was a great read and made me want to punch Stevie baby even more. We also talk about Brief Encounter and ask is Dr Alec a sincere sensitive guy or a shyster that has done this kind of thing regularly, the old, my friend lets me use his bachelor pad ploy. Then we move onto Blue Gardenia starring Ann Baxter. Its a fun flick with Raymond Burr playing a lecherous artist. She gets dumped by her soldier boy and ends up at dinner with that swinger Raymond and gets very drunk, much to Raymonds delight. He brings her back to his bachelor pad and tries to make advances on poor Ann. Ann being drunk....but not that drunk....Fights off the brute and here comes the fireplace poker. She is the opposite of cool as a cucumber. Ann Sothern and Richard Conti also star. Theres a funny scene when Richard tosses his little black book to his friend since he won''t need it anymore. Then onto the adorably suave, cool, and very funny William Powell. We both find him to be incredibly dreamy. I'm swooning now.

She was a groovy flower child in the late 60's as she made her way to Haight Ashbury to be in the free love, no shave your pits or gams time of possibilities. Susan was a seeker and when she found out about TM and after seeing the Maharishi she was hooked FOR THIRTY YEARS. I found myself pretty mad at how Maharishi treated Susan. Find out about the maharishi's incredible sense of smell, his dealings with the Beatles and Mia Farrow also how John came to write the song Sexy Sadie. Hear about Dear Prudence Farrow being the second hand rose in the Farrow/Marharishi family. She takes us on a great journey. You feel like you are their with her. Love her and Love her book!!!

I talked to Stephen Michael Shearer about his biography on Hedy Lamarr titled Beautiful: The Life Of Hedy Lamarr. Its a really good read. I usually skip a page here and there but I didn't with this book. I was fascinated by her childhood, her life in Vienna, her marriage to the third richest man in Vienna and her story of her escape from him and Vienna. We talked Hedy's six marriages. None lasting or happy. Her incredible inventions and her movie career. They really did not know what to do with her.

Of course being so beautiful and aging were large in her mind. People would meet her and say" You WERE so beautiful. She soon took to getting extensive plastic surgery that was not at all flattering. She also started seeing Dr Feelgood for his amazing B vitamin shots (actually meth) She started acting erratically. She shoplifted, and then she moved to Florida and became a recluse, not even letting her children see her. In 1997 she was finally lauded for her inventions. She never got a penny from them.

This is a very extensive look into Hedy's life. You can also see Stephen on the new Hedy Movie Bombshell. Its available on Netflix.

I want to thank Stephen for being such a great guest. I'm looking forward to talking g to him about other women he wrote about; Gloria Swanson and his friend Patricia Neal.

He talked about his life and all the amazing people he worked with. He talks those Feuding Gabor Sisters and the experiences while doing Arsenic And Old Lace. He has stories on Ingrid Bergman, Goldie Hawn, Lauren Bacall. He told a very funny one involving Laurens husband at the time Jason Robards. We get some scoops about Jackie Gleason, Richard Boone , Jaqueline Bisset, and so many more. He tells us about his proximity to a future Ax Murderer and playing pool with an unbeknownst to him serial murderer in a leather jacket. He got lots of hate mail for taking The Bionic Woman away from Steve Austin, The Million Dollar Man..He tells us if he is a kinder gentler man that has found peace. There are too many great stories to recount. Trust me, its a fun listen..

She also takes us on her journey on a nude cruise. She had to take it all off to go on the cruise. The Captains and cruise workers had clothes on. At the Captains dinner they had to wear something. Some wore lingerie, others bathing suits. We talk muffs or no muffs, bare sweaty butts on chairs, and the difference of HPV versus HIV...just joshing..It was a fun interview and Carla was great. I think we were her third show she did and she was a pro. We loved her.

We talk to Gil Valle better known as Cannibal Cop. He joined us in studio. He looks like your average nice guy from Queens, not some monster wanting to cook and eat women. We wondered if we should have him on but decided it was a fascinating story and who better then him to tell it. He talks about his trial, his fetish that we both find repugnant, but there are countless others out there on fetish net that have the same thoughts. He tells us of one theory a shrink had on what made him find eating women sexually arousing. The jury convicted him, not for an actual crime he committed, they found him guilty because they thought he would commit a crime. He was also found guilty of accessing a woman information on police data base. He could have been sent to jail for life for the jury thinking he would commit a crime. This was highly publicized and the verdict was very controversial. This case is now being discussed in law schools everywhere. Can we be found guilty because he MIGHT commit a crime. Is this the thought police?? We just let him tell his story.

We talk to Non Secular Exorcist Rachel Stavis about her Memoir Sister Of Satan:Chronicles Of A Modern Day Exorcist. If you've seen the exorcist it isn't like that. No pea soup spewing. Rachel has seen what she calls entities since she was a child. She tried to not see them but eventually she could not avoid them. She can see these entities attached to people. She also gives these entities different names based on the level of malevolence. I saw a Clive attached to Donnies shoulder trying to get him to stop eating pretzels during the show....didnt work. Rachel's is quite a fascinating story. I read her book and it was very good. she writes like she speaks. Very relatable and fun. She was a great guest. Whether you believe it or not is up to you. All I know is Rachel makes people feel better, she does not charge for exorcism but will accept donations.

Then we had a humongous change of pace when we talked to the adorable Stephan Szuchs. He is doing an admirable project to clean up the land and seas. It's called Sustainable Joes. He was adorable, he liked my voice HA!! He also called me Miss Grace. Did he mean I was old??? Anyhow whatever he thought he is doing great stuff.

I talk to Author Joseph Egan about his book The Purple Diaries: Mary Astor and the Most Sensational Hollywood Scandal of the 1930s. It talks of Mary's life and the scandal that she thought would end her career. Mary kept diaries and she let it all out on the pages. She talked about her passionate extramarital love affair, friends of hers and all sorts of very personal insights. Her ex-husband found them and basically blackmailed Mary to give him custody of her child and monetary gains. When she signed the paper Mary was very ill and horrified her diaries were made public. After seeing his behavior with their daughter Mary took him to court to get full custody of her daughter. His defense was of course her diaries..It was too juicy for people to resist. The courtroom was packed everyday. There were vendors in the hallways selling hot dogs and popcorn. It was a circus. Joe was great and he had insight into Mary via her daughter that he became email pals with. Its a fascinating story. Things I learned from this show, NEVER have a diary, but if you do don't get into your sex life and talking about other people. I'd have been horrified. Good listen. Mary was a gutsy dame. Mary's family gave Joe so many great pictures and info and he shares it with everyone.

I had the honor, once again to sit and talk with film historian and ex New York Post Film critic Lou Lumenick about the film MISSION TO MOSCOW. I gave Lou his choice on what he wanted to talk about and he chose this film. I had never heard of it. Its got to be seen to be believed. FDR asked personally for Warner Brothers to make the book into a film to help the war effort.It was one a the first of a few propaganda films put out to sweeten Russias image to the American people. It was directed by Michael Curtiz fresh off his stint of director of Casablanca. The movie was based on a memoir by former Ambassador to Russia Joseph E Davies.You will meet him because he is on smack dab on the screen talking about the movie before the film starts. He was upset they cast Walter Huston because he did not look like him. Guess he had to show us just how much better looking he was. HA! You will get a neck ache from shaking your head as you watch this film. the Ambassador upon hearing that the Russians were spying on them through listening devices just fluffs it off and says "Let them listen. We have nothing to hide." !!!!!! I have to watch it again because the first time it was like a daze, a bunch of Huhhhhss..See Stalin as warm and fuzzy as a cuddly stuffed bear. Hear FDR do his best imitation of God talking to Moses in The Ten Commandments. Learn Cavier and champagne is for everybody!! There really is so much to talk about with this film. I will link you to two articles Lou wrote on this film. I'm so glad he turned me onto it. We end our chat with a few classic Hollywood tidbits. I had a great time with Lou. He will be on again soon to discuss screwball comedies. YAY!!!

It was nice having honorary broad and my big sister on the show. Its the only time I get to talk to her.. We talked how great after the horror of another school shooting we see teens becoming activists. They are the future. Got get 'em guys! We talked less serious subjects like Jennifer Anistons breakup with her allegedly notorious cheating husband Justin Theroux. How immediately after, people are clamoring for her and Brad Pitt to hook up, forgetting JA was public humiliated by Brad when he fell in love with Angelina Jolie. Would you want him?? Forget being stepmom to his brood you'd have Angelina Jolie in your life. Not fun. We Also took an underwear test. Can a quiz on your style of undies predict what kind of person you are.. We talked to Jenn Hand about food obsession. We spend countless moments thinking about what we ate, what we shouldn't eat or I can't believe I ate that. We give too much time to food think. Take the I can't away and eat sensibly, don't deny yourself a piece of cake or pizza. Diets don't work. We are all different, our thoughts, our beliefs and our bodies. It's time to say no to body hate. Truly, toss the scale. It is liberating. We talk about getting on the scale every time we put food in our mouth. That little object and the number on it has ruined so many peoples days. Jen talks about sensible ways of eating. Depriving ourselves a particular food only makes you want it more. Jenn was so great and smart and funny. We loved her. It truly was like we were sitting around sipping wine. You may hear a very attractive drilling sound in the background. They are working on my building and were right outside my window. Its the kind of sound that could make you go insane...I'm half way there anyway. So please forgive the noise.

I talked to Jessica Rains, she is the daughter of one my fave actors Claude Rains. She was a joy. We talked about being the daughter of an actor/farmer. How Claude brought his wife and baby Jessica to the set to ease Bette Davis's ardor. We talked her interesting run in with Joan Crawford at Christinas Birthday Party. Jessica never went back! She told us about her farmer dad, her two stepmoms, how her dad felt about her going into acting. One of the funniest stories is Jessica going to a website devoted to her father with people talking about having sex with him. It grossed her out. Who could blame her. We hear about her trips to Morocco and Key West for the annual Humphrey Bogart fest hosted by his son Steven. Much fun was had by all. Ironically I had just watched a movie on youtube before Jessica came on, not knowing she was in the film. Its called Scream Pretty Peggy. Bette Davis was in the film but they never saw each other. I highly recommend it. Its a hoot!! Check to Jessicas eyeballing scene right in the beginning of the film. She's the office worker helping the college kids with getting jobs. Its an Emmy performance! We chatted for an hour and I had a fabulous time. Jessica is a doll. You'll love her too.

When I first talked to Alexis Hunter I could not place who Joi Lansing was..Then I went to IMDB and was AH HAA!!! She was in movies and lots of TV. I personally remember her in Marriage Go Round starring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. I also remembered seeing her on The Beverly Hillbillies playing Gladys Platt. She did so much more. She was a gorgeous blonde bombshell. Alex wrote her book Joi Lansing...A Body To Die For..A Love Story. What a book. I highly recommend it. Its about the last three years of Jois life. Alex and Joi were inseparable. It has laughs, great stories, Jois despair at growing older and getting no more parts and ultimately tragedy as Joi lost her life at age 43 of cancer. Alex was with her through it all. Because being in a lesbian relationship would have been a career ender for Joi, they called Alex Rachel and she was introduced as Jois kid sister. Alex is a fantastic woman and I now proudly call her my friend. This is a really good interview. Alex was honest and very warm and funny.

Author John O'Dowd and I discussed his book on Barbara Payton. What a sad tale. He talked from her childhood, to almost stardom and her tragic last years as a prostitute on Skid Row. We talked about her love/lust triangle with Franchot Tone and Tom Neal. John had the cooperation of Barbara's family, her sister in law that just died last week and Barbaras son John Lee Payton. J.L.P wrote the foreword for the book. My heart broke for him. What a childhood he had. He holds no bitterness towards his mom and remembers many of the good times he had with her. He also had some horrible times as well. Her life was not pretty and she brought it all on herself but you can't help feeling something after you read this book. Its not candy coated.You may feel loathing, anger and hopefully sad for this tragic soul. She had it all and threw it all away. If you haven't read the book I highly recommend it.

Thanks so much to John O'Dowd. My fingers are crossed that this time a movie will be made about Barbara. HBO should snap it up. It should be three parter as 90 minutes or two hours is not enough to do her story justice.

We also talked a bit about the vile parents of 13 children that kept them chained and locked up in their home. The oldest was 29!!! They got out thanks to a 17 year old girl that went to the police. She was so malnourished that they thought she was TEN!! We talk about the horrifying scare Hawaii had for 38 minutes thinking they were going to be nuked. Also the CVS chain was now going to be showing unretouched photos on their beauty products. Way to go CVS!!! and lots more. I talked to Author Patrick C Byrne about his book Double Entendre: The Parallel Lives Of Mae West and Rae Bourbon. I had never heard of Rae Bourbon before Patrick contacted me. He was a fascinating guy, he was a female impersonator and was called The Lenny Bruce of Drag Queens. Rae was pretty outrageous in his day and his performances were raided by police many times. We talk his alleged sex change and his very tragic demise. Get to know Rae, what a character. What can I say about Mae. She was ahead of her time. Wrote a play called Sex and it was raided by the coppers as well. We talk her coming to Hollywood, her love life, her fascination with muscle men and lots more. I remember seeing Mae as a very young girl on some program when she was old Mae. She scared me. The plastic surgery, the hairpieces, the ancient white formal evening dress. Mae was very health conscious but did love her bon bons. We talked her later films, Sextette and Myra Beckingridge and wondered if Mae still thought she was the hot tamale she was in her youth. All in all it was a fun show. Patrick was a great guest.

We talked to Marla Khan-Schwartz about her time in an emotionally abusive relationship. She was very honest and open. Michelle could really relate because of her past relationship. We talk losing friends because of the relationship and things you really should not ask after someone has the courage to leave a relationship that was abusive. We also discussed Marlas almost 5 year anniversary of being cancer free. How you always are aware it can come back and being afraid of an ache or pain meaning its spread. In the meantime we were so happy for her to get to that amazing milestone.
On a kind of selfish side Michelle and I were beyond thrilled when we heard Marla had told a friend what podcast she was going on and her friend knew us and was trying to get another friend to listen to us!!! That made our day..that made our week..HA!! Its a very informative podcast so grab a cup of coffee or glass of vino and have a listen.

For our big 5 0 we had as our guest the fabulous writer and blogger Ani Bernard Fournier. WE discussed her paper discussing Is Sex Addiction Really A Thing Or Are They Really Horny People Making Bad Decisions. WE love Ani's titles. Ani was our first guest and the only guest thats been on three times. She's always great and makes you think. We also talked about how women that enjoyed sex were called nymphomaniacs and sometimes sent to Mental Institutions to change their bad women ways..We talked #metoo, The Alabama election that kept Perv Roy Moore out of office. The charge was led by black women voters. Go Ladies. The majority of white women voted for Roy Moore.
I tried to get romantic with MY Belle for our fiftieth but she was having none of it. HA!!
Its a really good listen.

I had a great time speaking to my crush Eddie Muller from TCM'S Noir Alley. He is also the founder and president of The Film Noir Foundation. Eddie was fun, smart and hubba hubba. We talked about dames, the blacklist, cool people he interviewed, noir films, his books and Hitchcock Noir or No. He told me he is not the SELF proclaimed Czar Of Noir, someone else named him that and it stuck. He also talked about meeting Robert Osborne who was my comfort man from TCM, my comfort channel. I learned he named a character in a story WANDA...WANDA?? We even talked high-waters. I flirted like a tomato and/or dame (bad me) and Eddie was swell throughout. It really is a fun listen. I loved Eddie, see..You will too.

I want to thank Eddie for being a swell guy and coming on the show. I could have talked to him for hours. I'm still crushing on him big time..

We had a very mellow evening talking to the very interesting Warren Bobrow. I don't smoke weed. it can make me very paranoid so I really have not smoked a joint since my early twenties. Alcohol has always been my drug of choice. Luckily Warren infused rum with the wacky weed. Donnie and I were good sports and begrudgingly (HA!) tasted the drinks. WE had it with OJ and the cups we drank out of were about shot sizes. Warren said its basically one an hour or you would be wasted up the wazoo. Donnie and I had two shots. I have to say we were very mellow. All three of us. I got up to try to find a plug for my cheap and very groovy strobe light. It was like wow. Warren is a really interesting guy and you will really enjoy him. I guess I was a little paranoid that we would be raided.Just Kidding.. I'll post you to all things Warren so if you want to buy one of his six books or learn more about him you can.

WE had the fabulous Dr Kristie Overstreet on again to discuss a bit of everything. She has reissued her book Fix YOURSELF First:25 To Stop Ruining Your Relationship. We discussed some of its chapters topics. How to say no. Should be easy but NO its not for some people. We can write NO NO NO but it just aint the same. We also discussed how we can get our partners to listen to us (GET TO THE POINT!...Sound familiar??), how we must own what we do, the victim mentality, what is OK or not to say to women. Can you say you look pretty?? If tell men that I like their shirt, or their haircut, or if they look particularly cute that day, does that make me a harasser?? We discussed so much, even mean people on elevators and McDonalds. There's something for everyone... Kristie is so great and our favorite southern belle. We love her. She is a really wonderful guest and person.

We had such a great time with the lovely Kathryn Leigh Scott about her thoughts on Dark Shadows. Her Maggie/Josette dynamic. We talked about the great maniacal screams, the real reason 'POP' got canned. THe bloopers that were never cut out, Joan Bennett and who was Kathryns closet friend on Dark Shadows. Plus lots more. We also discussed her many books and her most recent book WithYou..Now without you. She describes how fate brought she and her husband together, also her husbands illness, keeping a diary and desrcibing his death. How lonely it can be for caregivers of their loved ones, being alone after twenty years and eventually going back to live her life. Its a great read. Kathryn writes in a way thats so relatable. Its like reading something from a dear friend.

We had the lovely Medium Claire Broad (A Real Broad) calling in from England to talk about positive energy in negative times. We discussed the first time she heard from a person that had exited the earth. What it was like coming to terms with the gift she had and learning to embrace it. We talked life after death and how boring it would be if we were Angels just hanging around on a cloud playing the harp. NO FUN!! Wheres The Wine, Where's The Pizza?? Are we already dead, are we in parallel universe?? Where are we!? We also talked deja vu, how it seems to leave us after we get older and perhaps if you believe in reincarnation, more distanced from our past lives. We talked all things dealing with the paranormal and agreed we don't know. We are open minded, we'll see when we die, or we won't. Claire firmly believes there is something else out there. She has written a book with her friend Theresa Cheung called Answers From Heaven: True Stories Of Heavenly Encounters And The Afterlife.. Hopefully they will both come on and discuss it. Claire was enlightening, funny and positive. We both felt better just talking with her. We also had one of the longest goodbyes in our Broads history, and thats saying something. We discussed our upcoming FIFTIETH podcast of the show. So hard to believe we have done so many and with so many wonderful woman and men.

The fabulous 1motherblogger Kirsten Bosly came on for her second visit. She is such an incredible life force. She told us her horrible #MeToo story. It was raw and very graphic so be warned. She told it with her down to earth honesty. Kirsten does not mince words, thats part of what makes her so great. We also talked Kevin Spacey, his coming out because he was accused of molesting an actor when actor was only 14. We wondered what will now constitute sexual assault. Is it off limits or sexual harassment for a policeman to tell a woman she looked beautiful in the dress she was wearing? Ashley Judd thought so and got the guys badge number. We also asked Kirsten what her fellow Australians thought of Trump and the USA. We talked about her photo going viral and how she felt when it all died down. Michelle and I talked our long farewells at end of show. I can never say goodbye..I just can't quit her..and lots more..

Honorary Broad Anne joined us and we discussed current events, we discussed Harvey Weinstein and sexual abuse. We talked about Mayim Bialak and her piece she wrote in New York Times. Basically she said she was not a conventional looking woman and so she got no abuse, also her mom talked to her about avoiding hugs on set. She did some victim blaming. Her advice, don't wear sexy clothes. She got pummeled on Twitter so she apologized 4 separate times. Women tweeting #MeToo hashtag were saying they were too unattractive to be sexually assaulted. Which is incredibly sad. We know thats not true, rape and sexual abuse are all about power and anger. Eighty year old women are raped, one year old babies are raped, was it because of the clothes they wore? Of course not. It can happen to anyone, male or female.

For a bit peppier topic we discussed Pink's statement that sometimes she and her husband go a year without sex. Also we discuss some actress none of us knew and her declaration that because she is so much more good looking then her husband its OK if she cheats. She aint all that and her insides add to her not so beautiful looks. WE want her hubby to tell Miss Not So Beautiful to scram, beat it, and get a divorce. Find someone worthy.

Plus WE got into a scintillating talk about the weather..HA!! And lots more. Michelle and I just could not say goodbye. I can't quit her..

We spoke to Shannon Lell about her article on Longreads entitled " I Was A Nine Year Old Playboy Bunny". Its a story about her finding her sexuality in childhood. It was uncomplicated and only hers, then she grew up and see's that its not so simple anymore. Harvey Weinsten had just been blizzarded all over the news so we talked him, but before we got to him Shannon very bravely and openly discussed her very recent sexual assault at a concert. She went to the police. They did nothing. She reminded us of a term coined from when Anita Hill discussed Clarence Thomas's (now supreme court judge) sexual advances towards her. Its called nut or slut, sometimes both. Anita was a nut. How women are blamed for sexual assault or unwanted sexual advances. Shannon and her high school sexual assault and confronting her now " Devout Christian" attacker. He denied it. It is a very honest and raw conversation. We thank Shannon so much for sharing her story. On a personal note it brought back so many memories of me (Grace) being groped and fondled in my twenties and not strong enough to fight back. Also its not only twenty year olds. It can happen at any age, but when we are young, generally women do not feel or own our own power, or even know we have any, especially if a very powerful man is the abuser. Please listen. Its relevant and sadly, who knows if it will change soon. We are hopeful.

We talked to eating disorder counselor, podcaster and blog writer Tabitha Farrar. Tabitha specializes in anorexia nervosa as she had anorexia for twelve years. She talked the Controversial Scientific reasoning behind eating disorders. We had never heard that theory so it was very interesting. I had some sort of eating disorder from the time I was 14 until I hit 35. Eating disorders are very difficult to conquer. There are unfortunately many relapses. We talked the very real fear of food. Words that trigger people with eating disorders. The isolation that goes with eating disorders and lots more. Michelle was very lucky that she had a healthy sense of self and never had an eating disorder. Eating disorders don't discriminate. Many men have them as well but its more of a stigma attached if you are a man. We also talked how eating disorders are not only for the adolescent girls, but older women that have never had an eating disorder can and do get one in their fifties. Its all very complicated but it is an illness and anorexia is the biggest killer of teen girls.

Our hope is if you or a loved one is suffering from an eating disorder there are MANY places on the web for information. That you learned something, and you are not ALONE. Tabitha's webpage is an amazing source of information. Her podcasts are there as well.

The Broads once again welcomed Author, Speaker, Documentary Consultant and Researcher Laura Carroll. We had a swell time talking childfree. WE pondered why must there be a label. In my own life I have never been introduced to someone as This is CHILD FREE Grace. I know I would have to laugh. We don't need labels for everything, yet some people think we do. WE were in total agreement with CHILD FREE Laura HA HA..We once again make point that neither of us hates kids.

We talked about if parents with kids should get to board plane first. We saw both sides but I think it takes longer to get the kiddos situated so maybe it holds everyone up. Baristas at Starbucks to get 20,000 for invitro so they can have a baby. Did the other Baristas get any dough if they did not need in vitro?? What about the guys?? We talked about people scoffing when you mourn a pet, with a get back to me when you have kids. Why should someone that lost their beloved fur baby feel more for other peoples kids.?? We don't even know them..Mom Michelle was great on offering her mom point of view. We talked about much more..It was a fun and interesting show. Laura was great and has the best laugh. Laura and I want to plan a wine show but considering the early time we tape we will settle for mimosas.

The Broads welcomed the gorgeous freelance writer Carita Rizzo. Michelle first spotted Carita after reading her article on being the other woman. She related big time so we asked Carita to come in to discuss her article and much more. Carita is living in Paris and she sounded like she's in the same room. We talked about her article, taking off socks, divorce, bad choices we all made and why we think we made them, fear of commitment, living the fantasy versus reality. Is it better (and safer) to have someone love you more then you love them and much more.. Carita was open and fun and we'd have loved to be sipping Bordeaux with her at an outdoor cafe in France..We will be having Carita back on show to talk about book she is writing about life after divorce. It will be a very compelling read..

I have not posted a new show in a while because there has been no new show. We are going through a name change, new studio and prepping for it all. I promise it will be a fun show. We welcomed the lovely Marcella Raymond to our show last week. Marcella is a field reporter for WGN in Chicago. Marcella posted a letter telling her she is too fat that she got from an anonymous "concerned"viewer on her Facebook page and it went viral. She talks about what its like to have so much attention on her, how she felt when it goes away, what its like being a field reporter. We even got an exclusive scoop due to the opening disappearing. Marcella was kind enough to do another opening and she told us she got a SECOND page!! Wait till you hear what "Concerned Viewer" added..Michelle thought perhaps it was an aspiring personal trainer. WE find out what profession this concerned viewer allegedly is in.. Marcella was open, funny and endearing. She is welcome back anytime. WE LOVED HER!! So will you. She also talks about her new book which sounds like it should be juicy read.. She will be on again to talk about her book.

Our End Of Summer Show. WE talked What We DID This Summer. Some Favorite Things and not so hot. Michelle Did Not Like Wonder Woman and thought she was a wimp and more..

Michelle and I had planned to do an end of summer show. Adios, Ciao, See ya later Summer. WE ended up doing this show literally after a ten minute lets do it.

Michelle forgot she saw her parents for a week in Canada, She also strolled naked on a beach..JK..She strolled sans beach rap. Own your body! She was on the home front busy with her stepson and daughter Natasha and helping with the family company. She also nearly had heat stoke because she has no AC. Ugh Also our writing vixen, just kept on writing. She is my kinda Wonder Woman and definitely not a wimp. All this in a heat wave with NO AC!!

My fave thing was going on retreat with my sister. The Brother (Kind of like a monk) that gave 5 lessons was nice but bloviated to much for me. I met so many lovely women, and some were nuns that are just women too. I talk my usual talk and my sister would kick me if she thought I was out of place, I gather she thought i was too honest for their holy nun ears. My thing is Nuns are people too so I talk to them like people. I still have the bruises. My sister then discusses with group how if she was alone with Donald Trump she wants to beat him up..I didn't kick her leg. I found out The Brother believed ALL men and woman should be married to God, hence his lovely wedding band. God sure is married to a lot of peeps. My end of retreat was nice because we met my other sister and chowed down and drank wine. Nothing like kicking back with my big sisters.

We talked Louise Linton, elitist spoiled brat wife of Steve Gnuchin and her let them eat cake Instagram post. She named all the designers and basically played the I'm so rich and you're not game. They flew to Fort Knox And stood on Roof watching Eclipse. What an entitled thing to do. What do you wanna bet they were sipping champagne? You should check out her acting reel. Meryl Streep does not have to watch her back.

Game of Thrones. Michelle told me I did not HAVe To watch it. Really. HA..At the end I heard Michelle talking to someone that I did not hear. Boo! It was random computer lady. Plus more that I forgot. I think it was a ghost in the computer. Why Not??

We laughed, we danced, we had tea, we pondered. WE practiced our mashed potato..WE braided each others hair. Its a fast and easy listen.

Our Second Show Of Season 2 was a lot of fun. We had activist and healer Angie Love (how I love that Love) Ward on and we discussed her group of activists she meets with once a month, her kids, her marriages, her absolutely beautiful curly hair, health care, marriage, having SIX kids, divorce and all those lovely things, Then switched gears talking would we ever want a big old Kardashian butt. Michelle pondered if butt would have cellulite and lumps. I was happy I have a small booty and Angie was a ??? We talked women wearing pretend engagement and wedding rings at work to avoid sexual harassment and we all knew if someone is determined to be an oinker, wearing a ring doesnt matter. Moral Dilemma Question, Would We Tell Our Sister If The Fiancee she loved was cheating on her..We did have to ponder..

Michelles daughter and stepson are back in school so we were free to blab. I had my health issue to deal with. Now all seems full steam ahead for our show.

We took off running with season 2 of the Broad's Way Podcast with our first guest, Kristie Overstreet, who is a clinical sexologist, licensed professional clinical counselor, certified Sex therapist, licensed mental health counselor, & board certified transgender care therapist among many other things. We asked is it ever too early to let your child become their true sex wrapped in the wrong body. She helps medical people on how to treat a transgender patient. Number 1 being respectfully. We also talk her books. We love the name "FIX YOURSELF FIRST" Its been said by many and known by many yet still women AND men don't do that. To get the love you want and deserve you must value who you are as a person. We also talked about cheaters and is there a certain pattern to look for. Alternate lifestyles and much more. We blabbed on and we have much more to talk to Dr Kristie about. She was a delight and we know you'll enjoy her.

We wondered if the Japanese first lady shunned Trump by pretending she couldn't talk English or did Trump shun her, to Russia with love, new shows we want to watch on netflix, Michelles stepson being in my neck of the woods and my great visit with my nephews and gaining an honorary nephew. I'm the cool and groovy Aunt. Love those guys and more..

We had a great time with our favorite broads Anne and Suzanne. We talked everything. Michelles first July 4th as an American citizen. Some Trump til Michelle shut me up. HA!! We talked weight, points, drinking, Suzannes daring journey into buying all sorts of undies. NO MORE GRANNY PANTIES!! Beyonce and Jay Z and their twins. Jay Z being a serial cheater and why should we care...We don't. Anne and my spiritual retreat where I still have bruises from her kicking me because she thought I was offending a nun, and lots more. We had fun and we were all a wee bit drunkiepoo except for our Canadian cutie Suzanne. We promised to show her how to drink. It was fun and we hope you enjoy our blather.

We want to thank Anne and Suzanne for being great broads and coming on the show. I want to tell my beautiful co-host Michelle to stay off the damn scale. Nothing good comes out of peeking at those numbers.

We did it with just the two of us. Michelle is a trooper. She got up 530 AM to do this podcast. I had been up for hours and bad sleep. We are not the sharpest Broads but we talk a lot of different subjects.

We talked Health care, A movie coming on Netflix called To THe Bone, The Hunger author and her really compelling life and story. WE also talked about not having scales in our house. Michelles Hubby bought one a she could not resist going on. Our Michelle started saying she's big, shes not and the number on the scale horrofied her. NO MORE SCALE. Michelle looks great. We talked a bit on Body dismorphia and so much more. Listen to the tired broads, Michelle sounds sultry...I sound like me. UGHHHH. The Rain In Spain Stays mainly in the Palain.. I need Enry Iggins.

WE will be doing another one this weekend. Thanks to all you people that listen. This summer is weird for both of us but we will be back on our schedule once the kiddos are back to school.

ON this show we talk about sex..or mostly the dudes do. Testosterone took over the room. I did have a mustache after leaving that show and had a sudden urge to bang twins. WE talk groupies, Donnies new 25 year old girlfriend, soulmates for a bit with the lovely Judith Costa that was sweet enough to call in for a few while sitting in her car. It basically was a tell all kind of like penthouse forum show with George calling me a prude. I'm just a spinster schoolmarm. WE also pondered advice both George and I were given, to find someone that loves you more then you love them. Is that really the way to go or just protection from getting your heart broken..
