Walking in humiility is a key to a closer walk with Jesus and a long - fruitful life in ministry.

“FAITH” is a very common word we use with our Christian friends or when referencing our “faith in God.” Faith is a foundational principle for Christians - Saints - Disciples - Followers of Jesus!

Who or why would anyone want to serve an angry, un-loving, un-faithful god?

God designed you for a specific purpose to do good works where you live.

Psalm 100:5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Proverbs 4:23 Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.

Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. Mark 13:9-11

God has given you and me the ultimate advantage. The advantage I’m talking about is the Holy Spirit, “the Helper” who is here on the earth today.

It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. John 16:7

So what is the life goal for a Christian? Jesus gives us the answer when one of the religious leaders asks Him which is the most important commandment.

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. Mark 12:30 NLT 

It’s essential to grow strong in your faith in Jesus Christ to help you overcome adversity in life. It doesn’t matter your age, if you are a new believer or well-seasoned in the faith.

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18 ESV

In this podcast, we will discuss four types of love in the Greek language:

• Phileo - brotherly love, the bond between friends
• Storge - family love, parents love for their children
• Eros - erotic, sensual or romantic love
• Agape - God’s love

Jesus instructs us to pray for the kingdom of heaven and God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. If you understand the principles of the kingdom of heaven, then you will understand what God’s will is for you on earth.

As Jesus teaches how to pray, He reminds us that God’s name should be kept holy. Keeping God’s name holy means that we give God the honor and reverence, He deserves. We are not to be scared of God, but we hold him in high esteem.

WOW - about one year ago we launched this Discipleship Podcast to help you grow in the faith and discover your purpose in life. Praise the Lord -we now have listeners across the USA and in 25 countries. 

Today we learn that you must be aware of public opinion - this is a key to becoming the person you are meant to be on the earth!

Ecclesiastes 12:12 TLB There is no end of opinions ready to be expressed. Studying them can go on forever and become very exhausting!

My prayer and challenge is that you become the person you are meant to be on the earth in 2022.

Don’t go through life stuck in a job or career that God did not intend for you. Follow your dreams, passions and fulfill your destiny on the earth. Contact me if you need prayer, guidance and wisdom to become the person you are meant to be.

DISTRESS? In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. Psalm 118:5

PEOPLE? The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? Yes, the Lord is for me; He will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people. Psalm 118:6-8

POLITICS - GOV’T? It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. Psalm 118:9

FINALLY The Lord is my strength and my defense. He has become my salvation. Psalm 118:14

But there’s something we should always do, and that is to rejoice in the Lord. Now we don’t rejoice when sickness hits us or when we lose our job. We rejoice in the Lord because of who he is and what he’s done for us!

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

(Psalm 23:1,4) The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it. (Genesis 2:15 NASB)

What does this really mean? Cultivate means to till, prepare the ground, and do the kind of things that promote growth through your labor and attention. It also means to improve, to take whatever you have and make it better,  to create the conditions to sustain life and to do the kinds of things that make it even better than you found it. When God told Adam to cultivate the garden, he wanted Adam to bring out the very best to maximize the potential. (Excerpt from A Real Man by Brian Chu)

I was talking with our kids tonight about how important it is to SEEK after God regularly. You can do this by reading the bible, prayer, listen to worship, going to church, etc. 

James 4:8 - Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

LIVE TO FORGIVE

I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men. (Acts 24:16)

Being angry at God or holding bitterness towards someone that hurt you will hinder your relationship with God. If you live on this earth and breathe air, you will have many opportunities to experience offense, hurt, hatred, and betrayal. Jesus said that offense and hatred in the Church would be two signs of the last days. 

Matthew 24:10 Jesus said, “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.”

It’s good to be aware of this “wilderness season,” which you’re bound to experience at some point in your life. Granted, it’s not a lot of fun, but it’s also not without some merit. This testing time is probably a good idea to view it as a personally-tailored course on character development! All part of God’s plan to help you serve Him well in this ministry he has chosen for you.

KEY PRINCIPLE

As citizens of the kingdom of God, we must stand firm in the faith when the challenges of life hit you! Don’t let circumstances or people lead you away from following Jesus.

But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. (Colossians 1:23 NLT)

As a husband and father, I must make good decisions for my wife and kids. I read this passage and hear the message speaking directly to me. God wants to make sure that I provide for my immediate family and make decisions that will keep them healthy and safe, not cause pain and suffering.

If you have built up a habit of believing and confessing negative things over yourself or your family, ask God to give you wisdom and to help you stop.
