Student voice in boarding is often associated with prefects, student committees or the occasional survey. However, student voice is not simply about providing opportunities for students to speak. It is about creating residential communities where students genuinely believe they can influence the place where they live. When young people experience authentic agency, they develop a stronger sense of belonging, greater responsibility for their community, and deeper engagement with boarding life.

But in an era where connection and belonging are increasingly challenged, how do we create boarding environments where students feel heard, valued, and empowered to contribute?

In this episode, we explore Student Voice in Boarding: Building Agency, Leadership and Belonging. We'll examine how boarding houses can create authentic opportunities for participation, develop meaningful student leadership, and foster cultures where young people are not simply cared for, but are active partners in creating communities in which everyone can thrive.
