Angela Johnson is the LifeStudents Pastor at Lifecentre Church in Ottawa, Ontario. She came to know Jesus when she was 15 years-old attending Lifecentre’s youth group! Angela is known for her fun energy and joy, and she can’t help but to constantly encourage those around her. She consistently points people to Jesus and is unashamed of the gospel. Angela has a passion to see the younger generation come to know Jesus and serve His Kingdom in a powerful way.

Anastasia Matheson is the Next Gen Director at This Is Life Church in Vancouver, overseeing the Youth and Kids ministry. She has just moved to Canada 6 months ago from South Africa and has always been passionately in love with Jesus and the younger generation. Anastasia is artistic and creative, always overflowing with joy and passionately striving to see the younger generation come alive and truly fall in love with the light of the world, Jesus.

She started experiencing God’s love, God’s peace and God’s profound joy in just BEING in his presence which made her Come Alive.  Now that she discovered the fulfilling gift of BEING with God, she wants to share it with whoever is interested to live a more intimate life with God, which makes us feel alive and grounded.

There is help, support and wisdom available from God for you in your parenting journey. From infants to adulthood, we all need God’s help to love our kids well. Bio: Anita Rajesh Anita Rajesh is a daughter of the most High God and the mother of three amazing children. As a single mother for over 17 years, she has walked through seasons of rejection, fear, loneliness, despair, and deep sadness. But God has rescued her family from suffering and even death. Now, she has immense joy and a glorious opportunity to share her rescue story with others. Bio: Ingrid Heeg Ingrid Heeg is a daughter of God, wife of Geoff, and Mom to 6 kids that span in age from kids to young adults. Ingrid is the Campus Pastor at Lifecentre Cornwall and has been Pastoring in a variety of roles over the last 10 years. Ingrid is full of Godly wisdom and understanding of the various stages of parenting. She is passionate about seeing the family unit thrive in all its uniqueness.

Rooting your identity in being loved by God is the first step to loving others well. We love because God first loved us. 

We root in God’s unconditional love for us, from that place we love God in return.  

God loves you, the real you, so you can love the real you too.  Out of God’s love, we can love others well. 

Truly loving others will fulfill the desire in us for significance. 

Let’s Dig Deeper Be honest about the parts you don’t love about yourself.  Invite God into the parts you don’t love about yourself.  Let God show you what He sees when He looks at you Let God show you how He feels about those parts of you

Luke 10: 27 - 28

“Our Body is our independent power source for action. It is the little “power pack” that God has assigned to us as the field of our freedom and development. It is the place from which we live.” Dallas Willard

Our physical bodies represent our physical doing, when our soul is submitted to Christ, our bodies will align to God’s will. There is a spiritual war between our physical & spiritual parts but when we walk in the spirit we can win over the fleshly desires. 

The desires of the flesh are against that which will truly bring life, that is why we do the things we do not want to do and the things we want to do, we just don’t do.  Being consistently disciplined is hard. 

Loving God with your strength starts with showing up. You’ve got to show up in your physical body and  be with God, be there for people, take care of your body, take care of God’s body (the church).

Stay in the present, in Christ there is enough strength for today. I can’t borrow strength from yesterday and I can’t pull strength from tomorrow.

Loving God with your strength must come from belonging, doing will never heal the soul. 

Health Check Up: Are you drinking enough? Are you eating nutritiously Are moving everyday? Are you working from your own strength or God’s strength?  Are you depleted? Leave your burdens with the Lord

This instruction was first found in Deuteronomy 6:4 and it was called the Shema, which means to hear, to listen, and take action! 

“The Soul encompasses and organizes the whole person, interrelating all the other dimensions of the self so that they form one person functioning in a flow of life. It’s like the computer that runs a business in the background.” Dallas Willard

The Soul is the most inner part of our being. We hide the soul space from God and others, we cover it with metaphoric fig leaves and hide behind trees because it’s the place where we are most known and most vulnerable. The soul space is where we are truly known, where we experience true intimacy with the Father. Let God into your soul space and He will heal you and you will become who you were always designed to be. 

What is the soul?  How do we love God with our souls?  How do we care for our soul? 

“Our Mind is where thoughts and feelings originate. We get to choose what we think about which in turn affects our emotions. We live at the mercy of our ideas. This is never more true than with our ideas about God.” Dallas Willard

Mentoring Exercise:

This week keep a journal of everything that comes to your mind that is negative, ungodly or not God’s best for you. Do an inventory of these things.

Go back to your list and put a scripture or the truth of who God says you are and meditate on that. Ask God to help you think this way.

So often we get caught up in what we see about ourselves, but God wants to show us what He sees when he looks at us. We can learn to hear, believe and accept the truth about who God says you are by exposing the lies that we have believed about ourself. Are you ready to remove the blinders to see something new?

In Session 3 titled Red Rover, Pastor Rhonda Courteau challenges us to stop calling over things that are not from God into our lives. She teaches us to bring everything to God and do a divine daily chuck of anything and everything that is not from Him. It’s time to bring God those stones of pain, hurt, unforgiveness, stress, fear and anything else to God so He can chuck them once and for all as far as the east is from the west. He is so faithful.

In this special exercise, Pastor Lori Boucher lead us on a guided journey to meet with God in a personal and intimate. way. We encourage you to listen to this episode when you have some time to sit down in a quiet place alone and allow God to speak with you and meet with you. Your time with God can be like this every single day. Your loving Father wants to meet with you and speak to you in a very real way.

In Session 2 titled Marco Polo, Pastor Lori Boucher brings a powerful hear cry, “Lord, open my eyes so I can see.” The heart of this message is that God would remove the veil over our eyes so that we can see the provision He has already made for us. What do you need? Well God has already made a provision for you, can you see it?

In our opening session titled Hide and Seek, the beautiful, funny, honest, powerful, overcomer, Pastor Kimberlee Moran brought a powerful word about how the parts we want to hide are the parts that mean the most to God. We try to so hard to be like that alabaster jar, beautiful on the outside but the true value is not in the jar but what’s inside the jar.

In this episode, Rhonda and Lori talk a little about their own shame in regards to money, how their upbringing affected their idea of money and some tips they have learned for practising good stewardship.

Supernatural moments come in unexpected ways, at unexpected times but when we come to God humble, hungry and holy, God meets with us!

We were all surprised with how deep and personal this conversation went as we explored our own shame in saying our dreams out loud, we dove into the vulnerability of believing and hoping for dreams that are along time coming or dreams that just feel impossible. We had a genuine Awakening Moment together as we realized that the journey might be even more valuable to God than the realization of the dream.

We pray that God would awaken or reawaken dreams on your heart as you partner with Him to accomplish His powerful work here on earth! It’s not too late, it’s never too late with God, His powerful redemption is at work through your life, even in the dreams not yet seen.
