People-First: Leadership Conversations

Gallup research shows managers account for at least 70% of the variance in a team's engagement. Managers influence how people show up at work more than any policy, perk, or program. That same influence determines whether a strategic initiative, a new system, or an improvement effort is successful. Most initiatives don't fail because the strategy was wrong. They stall because the people responsible for carrying them out don't have the mindsets and behaviors to lead their teams and empower their employees.

People-First: Leadership Conversations sits down with senior leaders who know what it means to lead well. Each conversation traces how they became the leader they are today, how they show up for their teams, and what mistakes have taught them the most along the way. The goal is simply to give other leaders and managers real, lived experience they can learn from and apply in their own work.
