Moab- Are You Even on Earth?

Moab is like nothing you've seen on Earth! It's the reason why people from around the world visit every year. In fact, over 50 movies have been filmed in Moab or Arches National Park!

Jon and Jenn talk about the two National Parks within Moab: Canyonlands and Arches. If you're planning on going, remember that reservations are now required for Arches. When you get in, head directly to the Delicate Arch. Of the 2000 arches withing the park, Delicate is the big one!

There are a lot of great restaurants to choose from as well. For pizza you can have Antica farma, sushi there's Sabaku, Thai is Thai Bella and the Sunset Grill for a nice occasion.

Chicago: The New York of the Midwest

Chicago...the Windy City. "Chi-town". Home of "Ferris Bueler's Day Off", the Chicago dog and deep-dish pizza. Also, the greatest St. Patrick's Day festival in America!

For listeners who love pop culture, there are so many places to visit! If you remember the famous SNL "Cheeseburger" skit, then you have to visit the "Billy Goat Tavern". The "Married with Children" fountain, also known as the Buckingham Fountain, is a great photo op. Or channel your inner-Ferris and go to the Art Institute of Chicago.

Park City- The Greatest Snow on Earth

Park City is so much more than a ski town!

Jon and Jenn share their favorite winter activities to do in this city, just 30 miles from Salt Lake's airport. First off, did you know that the Sundance Film Festival is held there every January? Jon once ran into Mary-Kate Olsen, or maybe it was Ashley Olsen during Sundance. Jenn ate next to Woody Harrelson!

Plus, the Utah Olympic Park is in Park City. Utah hosted the Olympics in 2002 and this museum lets you see the different events up close, including riding in a bobsled!

If you're not into the cold, you can soak in the homestead crater: a geothermal crater that you can swim, scuba or paddle board in.

But yes...the skiing and snowboarding in Park City is what brings in the tourists. You can choose from Deer Valley, Park City Mountain, Canyons or Woodward. All are special for their own reasons. Jenn talks about the fancy Montage Resort as well.

Maui- Don‘t Snorkel with Fish Food in Your Pockets

Have you ever been to Maui? If not, trust us when we tell you that EVERYONE will tell you to stop at Costco right after your flight. They're right! It'll help keep costs down.

Jenn tells a hilarious story about snorkeling with fish food in her pocket. Should you do The Road to Hana? What about the Old Lahina Luau? Yes! If you've never been before. But those are more "one and done" kind of events. For your next trip, Haleakala National Park is a must. If you're up for a hike, Waihe’e Ridge Trail is breathtaking. Both will take you above the clouds.

There is a debate on which side of the island to stary on. It really depends on what you're looking for in your vacation. It doesn't matter where you pick, you'll feel relaxed the moment you get off the plane. Unless you're Jon who wears seven layers on the plane and then sweats until he reaches the resort.

The Curse of Pele

Thank you for dealing with our surprise hiatus. We had an unexpected flood at our house that destroyed all of our podcast equipment! From the flood, Jon then was almost hit by a driver driving the wrong way. Then, a semi-truck dropped it's gravel load onto one of our cars! That's when we realized something was up.

It turns out, that there is a curse that you can get while traveling in Hawaii. The curse of Pele. If you take any volcanic rock from the island, you will have bad luck until the lava rock is returned. We had no idea! So, the rock has been mailed back and we are feeling like things are turning around.

Vegas- Without Kids

Bear Lake- The Caribbean of the Rockies

Why is a lake that straddles Utah and Idaho called the "Caribbean of the Rockies"? The water is so clear, you can almost see to the bottom! There is a reason that people fly in to find such a hidden gem. Not to mention to try out their famous raspberry shakes! It's easy to find a shake, it's harder to figure out which place is the actual "original".

If you love to camp, there are campgrounds within half a mile of the water. If you love to glamp, the Conestoga Ranch has got you covered. There are multiple RV and camper parks as well as hotels and AirBnBs! Plus you can rent a boat for the day to explore all 7 miles of the lake. Although Jon and Jenn learned that it gets really windy for a pontoon boat in the afternoon!

San Diego with the kids! SeaWorld has changed a lot over the years and seems to be more ride focused than ever before. Lego Land is the perfect amusement park for young children. And the San Diego Zoo is a classic! Although you better love hiking up hills. Have you been on the USS Midway? It is an experience everyone should do once. Belize- That Time We Almost Died

Jenn claims that we almost died in Belize on three different occasions! Outside of our near-death experiences, it is a beautiful place to visit, eat and snorkel! Although we wouldn't recommend staying in Belize City, San Pedro, Ambergris Caye is fantastic! You can scuba the Great Blue Hole, swim with nurse sharks at Shark Ray alley, explore The Secret Beach or see what a "chicken drop" is at 'Wahoo's Lounge'.

Nashville...Don't Be a Poser

Nashville is so hot right now! Not only the weather, but it has become THE go-to spot for Bachelor and Bachelorette parties. But there is so much more to this town. To Cruise or Not To Cruise

Now that cruises are opening back up, there's always a debate on whether or not cruises are great. Jon and Jenn talk about the benefits and problems with cruising (at least on Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Disney). 4 different cruises, three different liners and Hurricane Hermine. Costa Rica- Pura Vida!

Sitka, Alaska...Is it the Last or Final Frontier?

Jon tells his adventure of traveling to Sitka, Alaska for his Dad's sixtieth birthday. The only thing he and Jenn knew about Sitka before going was that it was in "The Proposal" starring Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. It turns out that the Paxton family is not a real family. It also turns out that if you call Alaska "the final frontier" instead of "the last frontier", you will be mocked forever.

Heads up, Alaska has a lot of bugs! But it also has amazing views, animals everywhere and some of the best fishing you can find. Jon came back with over ninety pounds of fish! Three days on the boat was enough for him. He must have not felt great because all he did was share a bottle of Josh wine every night. On a guys trip, he usually would do much more!!

Cabo San Lucas

We share the adventures of our two visits to Cabo San Lucas. Why Jenn grew up being afraid of Mexico, what happens when a dog attacks the bride during a wedding and Jon pulled a Miranda and drank the water! Dog attack aside, Cabo is definitely a place to look at to get married. Plus, our review of two all-inclusive resorts (Royal Solaris and Paradisus Los Cabos) and Flora Farms.

Disney World Part 3- Epcot and Hollywood Studios

Leave the kids home if you're going to Walt Disney World Epcot. That’s what Jon and Jenn did when they went back to the park at night. It’s one of the benefits of staying at the Disney Beach Club. Plus, they have the best pool of all the hotels!

Also, our favorite Disney park (Hollywood studios) and the best ride ever made- Rise of the Resistance! Is it hard to get on the ride? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes! Even if you’re not a Star Wars fan.

Plus, dinner at Disney Springs. We promise…this is our last Disney filled episode!

Disney World Part 2- Animal Kingdom

Is it worth it to stay at a Disney World Resort? We talk the benefits of Disney's Animal Kingdom Kidani Village, the Animal Kingdom theme park and almost getting into a fight at Rainforest Café.

The Kilimanjaro safaris is a ride that you must do as soon as you get to the park. For some reason though, the park was opening earlier than the posted times and we were arriving late! Jenn is still bitter that the family made her go on the Kali River Rapids, it was Mother’s Day and all. The Avatar section of the park is worth it!

Disney World Part 1- Learn From Our Failures

We travel with the family to Disney World during the end of Covid. Reservations are key for any part of your Disney adventure (during the pandemic or after). Are gift cards from Target better or the Disney Visa card? Both will help… if you remember to use them! Jenn’s obsession with buying ponchos before the trip. Our stay at Kidani Village Animal Kingdom and what we packed to snack along the way. Were the blogs right or did we do everything wrong? Learn from our failures and success!
