Episodes are out and we are looking for our next Back Road Adventure.

Barstools & Backroads is a road-worn podcast exploring the bars that built America — one town, one bar, one story at a time.

From forgotten highway taverns to neon-lit corner bars, we dive into the history of the towns they serve and the people who keep the lights on. Each episode traces where the town came from, how the bar got its name, who’s poured the drinks, who’s passed out on the stools, and why it still matters.

This show is dedicated to the day drinkers, the night owls, the locals, the barflies, the women after 2AM, and the men who take them home. We’re here for the stories that don’t make it into history books — the fights, the friendships, the funerals, the miracles, and the bad decisions.

If every town’s got a bar, then every bar’s got a story.
Barstools & Backroads tells them.

Tucked back where the road starts to forget you, the Lost Horse Lodge isn’t just a bar — it’s a time capsule.

In this episode of Barstools & Backroads, we step into one of Montana’s most legendary cowboy bars, where boots hit the floor, stories get bigger with every pour, and the past never really leaves.

We talk about:

The kind of cowboy bar culture you don’t find anymore

Famous faces who’ve passed through when no one was watching

The strange and unforgettable tale of the “ghost of goats”

The infamous axe-handle door that says more than any sign ever could

Why free pool isn’t just a perk — it’s part of the code

But more than that, this place stands for something deeper.

It’s a bar that shows up for its people — especially when it matters most — supporting first responders and giving folks a place to land when life gets heavy.

This is where you go to:

Disconnect

Reset

And step into a version of life that feels a little more real

For a couple hours, the world slows down…
and all that matters is the story in front of you and the drink in your hand.

If there’s ever been a place worth the backroad—
this is it.
