After NAACP leader Bishop Talbert Swan accused Black MAGA voters of voting “against their own people,” I sat down with Black Republican strategist Corey Ruth to ask the hard questions directly.

We talked about:• Trump and Black voters• Tennessee redistricting and Memphis• Black women losing jobs after federal layoffs• Why some Black conservatives still support Donald Trump• Whether this is politics, culture… or something deeper

As someone who has spent 20 years working in both MAGA and mainstream newsrooms, I wanted to hear both sides for myself — not through social media clips or political spin.

This is one of the most divided conversations happening in America right now.

Is the Black vote shifting? In this edition of Angela Gets Answers you will hear from two very different black voices one from the black conservative perspective about Donald Trump. Stephen A. Smith says every Black American should vote Republican at least once. Roland Martin says they already tried that — and got burned. I sat down with Janiyah Thomas — the Black Media Director for President Trump during the 2024 election — to find out why she not only voted for Trump, but helped elect him. And she has zero regrets.

When Axios reported that the GOP has a shot with Black voters, the internet exploded. Black Americans pushed back hard. Stephen A. Smith sparked a firestorm when he said Democrats have neglected the Black community and it’s time to make them pay at the ballot box. Roland Martin fired back — pointing to the massive drop in Black owned contracts, cuts to federal programs, and broken economic promises under Trump.

But nobody was sitting down with the Black women who actually made the choice — so I did.

In this interview, Janiyah Thomas breaks down:

• Why she supported Trump over the Democratic Party

• What she believes the GOP is offering Black Americans that Democrats aren’t

• Why she thinks more Black people should consider voting Republican

• What it was like being a Black woman inside the Trump 2024 campaign

Stephen A. or Roland Martin who’s right? Watch and decide for yourself.

This is the conversation mainstream media won’t have.

An Axios article suggests the Republican Party might have an opening with Black Americans, sparking strong reactions on social media. We dive into the political news, examining the skepticism and criticism directed at this notion, especially concerning voting rights. This discussion highlights the ongoing debate in us politics about Black voter engagement and party alignment.

In this episode of Angela Gets Answers, we break down what the Court actually decided—and why it’s sparking a national debate.

The ruling centers on whether states can ban certain forms of conversion therapy for minors… or whether those conversations are protected under the First Amendment.

For people like Garrard Conley, author of Boy Erased, this isn’t just legal—it’s personal.

He describes what happened behind closed doors: psychological pressure, shame, and being told who he was… was wrong.

Now, the question is bigger than one case:

👉 When does “talking” become harm?

👉 And who gets to decide—families, therapists, or the government?

This video breaks it all down—without the spin.

Through a virtual interview, Andrew Gardner and Angela Brown discuss the critical human rights concerns faced by these individuals, shedding light on pressing social issues in the Middle East.

Dubai is known for luxury, wealth, and opportunity… but is that the full story? In this video, we take a closer look at the dark side of Dubai—and ask a critical question: is anything actually changing?

You’ve probably seen the viral videos and documentaries claiming the city was built on exploitation. Stories of migrant workers facing harsh conditions, debt, and limited freedom have shaped global perception.

But what’s the reality today?

I spoke with a leading expert who has spent decades studying labor systems in the Gulf to understand:

• What’s changed in Dubai

• What hasn’t

• And what workers are still facing right now

According to human rights groups like Human Rights Watch, while some reforms have been introduced, many workers still deal with:

• Wage theft

• Recruitment debt

• Extreme heat conditions

• Systems that tie their legal status to employers

So has Dubai evolved… or just rebranded?

Why are so many Black Americans traveling to Dubai right now and should they?

After my videos about Americans trapped in Dubai during the Middle East conflict and the update about travelers escaping Dubai, many viewers started asking a deeper question in the comments:

Why are people going to Dubai in the first place?

Dubai has become one of the fastest-growing luxury travel destinations in the world. The city welcomed more than 17 million international visitors in 2023 and nearly 19 million visitors in 2024, according to Dubai tourism officials. Social media has played a huge role in that rise with influencers posting desert safaris, luxury hotels, yacht parties, and rooftop pools across Instagram and TikTok.

But there’s another story behind the hype.

Black travelers now represent one of the fastest-growing segments of the travel industry, spending over $100 billion annually on leisure travel, according to the Black Travel Alliance. Travel groups and influencers have helped turn destinations like Dubai into bucket-list trips for many Black Americans.

At the same time, critics and human rights groups have raised concerns about migrant labor conditions in the United Arab Emirates, where foreign workers make up the majority of the population. And now, rising tensions in the Middle East are raising new questions about travel safety in the region.

So when you combine the luxury marketing, the influencer culture, and the geopolitical reality…

It raises a bigger question.

Is Dubai really the dream destination social media makes it look like or is there more people should know before booking that trip?

The city welcomed more than 17 million international visitors in 2023 and nearly 19 million visitors in 2024, according to Dubai tourism officials. Social media has played a huge role in that rise with influencers posting desert safaris, luxury hotels, yacht parties, and rooftop pools across Instagram and TikTok.But there’s another story behind the hype.Black travelers now represent one of the fastest-growing segments of the travel industry, spending over $100 billion annually on leisure travel, according to the Black Travel Alliance. In this interview, a former President Donald Trump supporter takes us inside the MAGA mindset and explains why she once believed things like “Black people are not oppressed,” how she viewed race, women, and power, and what ultimately pushed her to start leaving MAGA. Her honesty is raw, vulnerable, and revealing and it shows how political beliefs are shaped long before anyone picks a candidate.

If you’re a Democrat, an independent, or someone who’s been trying to understand why MAGA resonates for so many, this conversation breaks down the psychology, the identity, and the emotional pull behind the movement. This is not about judging it’s about understanding how people think, and what finally changes them.
